Claim to fame: I'm Jasta's brother, obsessed with Norse stuff and gaming and sports. wink And I'm relatively new to Gaia so 'scuse me if I mess up.
Avatar Story: Right now I'm appearing as Hod (or Hodur), son of Odin and Frigga; he's the god of Winter and Darkness. The crown of holly is because he's King of Winter, twin brother to Balder, god of Summer, Light, and cheery stuff. Right now it's winter, so... once Spring comes I'll ditch the crown. Veil over eyes is because Hod is blind; the ravens are Hugin and Munin (Thought and Memory), and they usually hang around with Odin--but I liked 'em enough to pay for two summoning tomes to show 'em both.
Anyway, glad to be here, now I'm going to go poke around some.

*fangirl like squee* Can I state how happy it is to see such wonderful thought put into your outfit? Most most hurrah for dressing up like Hod, much hurrah for giving Hod the needed love. Though I suppose I shouldn't offer to lend you the mistletoe broach I have?

Mistletoe and ducking for cover seem to work very well together, at least in this setting.

Gornwen, thanks for your comments! I had the story of Hodur and Balder read to me when I was a little kid (guess who did that!) and was totally furious with how the other gods reacted and what they did. I get the spiritual reasons for it all now... both of them had to die in order to fulfill what is supposed to happen at Ragnarok. But sheesh...
I'm glad you like my avi; I gave it a lot of thought, and it took some time to afford some of the stuff. But I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out! I think I'd like to get the white veil eventually, since it would provide better contrast, and I do want to get the black royal cloak one of these days--but for now it looks kinda neat. smile
I see you're wearing a horned helmet; do you like Norse/Viking stuff too?
*grins* Ducking... yeah... would've been a plan. Might've been better if Frigga had warned Balder, yup... smile

I think this guild has a good amount of people - I'm in guilds that have exactly three active members... and that is NO fun! Then other guilds have 479 active members and I *really* can't keep up!!!
