Joeye was about to make up some story about what she said out loud to hide what it really was, which was cussing. But since Terra seemed busy with also setting up camp, she figured it was no big deal.
"Sure, I'll fetch firewood," she said, but by the time she got to the last word, Terra had already disappeared amidst the trees, in the direction of the stream they had passed earlier.
Well. She seems more gung-ho about setting up camp than me, thought Joeye as she wandered into a little thicket of trees to the north of their campsite, idly searching for firewood.
Suddenly, a thick gust of wind blew, and her halo dropped over her eyes. As she pulled it up, goosebumps rose on her skin. It felt like she was not alone.
Warily, she glanced back the way she came, checking if Terra had returned to the campsite. Even though the campsite was in clear view, however, there was nobody there. It's just your imagination, she told herself.
A twig snapped.
Joeye jumped and looked around wildly. Then her halo dropped over her eyes again, making her jump like ten feet in the air. Panicky, she yanked her halo back up, in time to see a movement out of the corner of her eye.
No. I'm not alone. "Terra?" she called out nervously.
There was nothing but silence. And then there was a slight sound. It sounded like breathing.
Joeye looked around wildly again. She remembered she was carrying a sword. With shaking hands, she unsheathed it and held it aloft. "Who are you?" she asked. "Show yourself!"
The sound of footsteps behind her made her turn around. It was Terra, returning with water in the large pan. With goosebumps still prickling her skin, Joeye ran back to the campsite.
ooc: the noise is related to joeye's shiney ^^
@toony: not really sure. but i'm all about first loves and childhood sweethearts >.<

Terra noticed Joeye running holding her sword. She ran to the camp her hood slipped back reveling the circlet and its green gem ones more but she was no longer worried about it, Her cape swirling behind her and her running carefully as not to spill to much water in case it was a false alarm. She placed the pan down on the ground near blizzard and grabbed her bow and quiver from blizzards saddle. She chucked her emerald green cape off to revel her green traveling dress which was embroidered with gold leaves here and there. She ran over Terra knocking a arrow on her long bow as she went...
"Whats wrong?!..."
Terra expected nothing more than animal of some sort, as much as she detested hurting them, if it attacked them she would shoot it dead...she looked around using her listing to try and hear movement but she could only hear the soft wickering of the horses.. Terra was a skilled archer and had picked up keen eyesight and hearing but she could hear nothing...

Now that Terra returned and was armed, Joeye almost calmed down. Almost, but not quite. She cast a fearful glance towards the way she came.
There's something back there. It moves. It breathes, she was about to say. Maybe it's a someone...
But then she caught herself. Thoughts rushed through her head at a hundred miles per hour. Is it the magistrate's men? The little girl's allies?
The little girl?
Goosebumps rose on her skin. What if it's related to the pawnshop incident? I...I can't let Terra find out that I was...involved in the pawnshop incident.
She shook her head, and very reluctantly, she put away her sword. "I...It's nothing. It was...a squirrel. I...saw it when I was running back." She mustered a light laugh. "Imagine that, me getting spooked by a squirrel."

Shoneya kept looking from Chris, to Amara, Chris, to Amara, back and forth. She sighed.
"I'm sorry guys, I just have to do this on my own. Nice to see you guys though."
And with that, she bowed and left for their room.
When she got there, she looked into her satchel and pulled out a pair of clothes. She had bought it in the market place when she and Amara were there together. It was a dress with white sleeves and the body part was brown. It had laces going diagonal and the skirt part of it was a dark green.
She went in front of a mirror and kept turning around. "Woah, I never really thought I was pretty. This dress is just so beautiful!" She thought as she looked into the mirror, still turning around. She went back to get her satchel. She reached for it when she noticed the shiney thing she picked up glowing. She picked it up and turned it over, observing it. "How interesting..." She thought.
She put it back in her bag. She put on her belt that had her sword on it and put the satchel over her shoulder. She walked out of the room and into the lobby. She didn't check out because Amara still had that room. She walked out the door and looked around.
"Huh?!"
She shouted. She and Amara had gone to the marketplace, but in the opposite direction of MenanRock Castle!!
"Ugh!"
She moaned. She started to walk back on to the path of MenanRock Castle.

Terra seemed suspicious of the squirrel theory but she hitched her long bow over her shoulder and walked over to blizzard, placing the arrow back in the quiver and then putting the quiver over her shoulder all so just in case. Joeye had her own secrets and Terr had hers; she decided to leave it at that...She picked her cloak up and put it in blizzards traveling pack before picking the water up and putting it above the fire to boil it clean...
"Yeah, a squirrel...So you hungry?"
Not that there was much choice in what to eat after all they only had limited supplies so they didn't have to carry much...Terra had plenty of questions to ask Joeye later on, just to try and get to no the person she would be traveling with until they left on there own ways...

ooc: sorry again for the delay (insert gonk here). got visitors from out of town and whatnot for the past few days >.<
Joeye knew that Terra was not fully convinced of her squirrel story. She was relieved when Terra let it go.
"Yes, yes, I'm quite hungry," she said, nodding vigorously. As she looked about for things to do in helping set up dinner, her eyes strayed back to the woods. She fervently hoped they won't get anymore sightings of the person in the forest for the rest of the night. Rather, for the rest of the time they were in the forest. "So what do we have to do?"

Terra placed the pan of water down now satisfied it was clean after being boiled...
"Well there's not much to eat because we cant carry much but i could do us a hot meal of soup and we have some dried traveling biscuits we can have with it..."
Terra poured some water into another pan but left plenty to drink, She then began putting in the soup ingredients from the bag at her side, satisfied that the soup would taste nice, Terra put the bag back on Blizzard's saddle and came back to sit by the fire with a pan hanging over. She pulled her cloak closer around her which she had only just put back on and motioned for Joeye to sit beside the fire...
"Whilst our meal cooks we might as well talk for a bit..."

Warily, Joeye sat beside the fire and busied herself putting away her sword. "Well...okay. What would you like to talk about?" she asked. Her mind was racing, trying to cobble together the same sob story that she fed to Mrs. Bibb. Then she smiled. Maybe she didn't have to worry about cobbling together a story. "You mentioned you were from this place called...Mara?"

Terra was hoping the subject wouldnt reach Mera, what would she say? perhaps she could sort of tell the truth? maybe only partly lie? she owed Joeye this at least...
"Yes Mera, its a far away place, very far....was there anything you wanted to know about it?..."
Terra had almost gone on to say she was exiled but she figured that would scare Joeye. she stirred the soup and averted her eyes from Joeye she couldn't lie to people whilst looking them in the face...

OOC:Hopefully I am doing this the right way....
IC: Red Shadow pulled his sword out of the dead body and stood over the bodies of the two assassins that had attacked him as some people had gathered and wondered what was going on. "It seems that someone wants me dead right now. I guess that I had better get going." Red Shadow whispered to himself. "I better go and the pay the innkeeper and get out of this town. It really isn't safe for me here anymore." He walked to the inn and slept for awhile. "Red Shadow....." A voice said to him in his dream. "Wha...who are you?" he asked "Show yourself!" He grabbed for his sword and realized that it was not there. "I am Darkangel, your guardian angel. I am here to tell you that you are destined for great things." She said "However I cannot reveal myself to you yet. There are great many things that need to be explained before we meet but for now know that I am here to protect you and guide you." The voice then faded into the dark dreamscape and Red Shadow woke up from his sleep. "I am destined for great things....yeah sure. A mercenary like me who is bound to noone and could possibly die tommorrow? Sure." he said to himself as he packed. He went to pay the innkeeper. "Where are you off to now?" The inkeeper asked as Red Shadow went to pay the man for his stay. "I guess I go off into the great unknown. I am off now." he said as the last of the gold he placed on the table clinked to the table. Red Shadow left without another word and disappeared into the night.

Joeye didn't notice Terra avert her eyes, too busy was she watching the flames flicker. Vaguely, she gestured about them. "Is Mera like this? All woodsy and...rural-y?"

Terra couldn't describe what Mera was like now, dry desolate virtually in ruins, she would explain it the way she remembered it and the way it will be soon, when Terra can get to the temple...
"I suppose in ways, the lands are huge and green full of lush plants and many creatures, A huge forest known as Faith forest surrounds Mera and keeps it safe. Mera itself is lavishly built m-the kings castle it huge and towers over the village, its is spectacular and carved with many engravings, it is very pretty for a castle, the houses are the same. even the market place is decorated lavishly!..."
She nearly said My families castle but she correct herself just in time to say a short m before the word the...she still continued to keep her eyes averted pretending she was studying the soup...

Red Shadow stopped by a river and caught some fish. He started a fire and cooked his fish. A fighter came by and sat a few feet down from him. "hello there. can you spare a hungry traveler a fish?" Red Shadow smiled and handed the stranger a fish. He thought the fighter looked a bit familiar but couldn't quite put his finger on it. "What is your name?" He asked the warrior. "My name isn't important but if you have to call me a name call me Angel." She said to him. "Welcome Angel to my humble camp." He said and the two talked into the night.

"Lavish decorations, huh? It sounds like a fascinating place," commented Joeye. She lifted her brows with slight interest. "You seem to know a lot about the castle. Had lots of school trips there or something?"
Brieftly, her thoughts strayed to Crewel Manor, and she wondered yet again how her family is doing.
