The reaction upon being hit is immediate. The magic from your spell seems to come up against resistance from another spell surrounding the water and magma, disrupting the spell and nullifying it through disruption.
The magma falls to the ground, inert as still hot magma can be. The water likewise falls to the ground, but slowly rises upward with a faint blue glow you haven't seen in the water yet while you are down here.
"Hey," the man you rescued says from the observation window. "Whatever you did to that orb managed to have an effect on everything else down there. The water is back to normal."
He's right; the water is indeed rising as normal again.

"The words 'water' and 'rising' together are never good. I say we hightail it out of here. Not like there's anything left..." The Shadow turns and smiles at the group. Multitasking while she talks she manages to spell Wick's shoelaces together.

"You sure your name isn't spite?" Sighing, he quietly fixed Wick's shoelaces with a minor cantrip of his own, looking over towards the water. "One moment." Shaking his head at the waste of not being able to bring more, he gathered as much of the stuff as he could in a variety of flasks and vials, capping them securely so as not to lose any. "Well, on we go, I guess."

Wick sits there for a second, perplexed at how his plate mail boots obtained shoelaces in the first place. "Thats weird." He commented as he waited for a reaction with Tarothin.

Shadow gives him a look, as if he just asked if two plus two equaled five. Then summons one of those "hello I'm" stickers, slaps it on herself and writes "The Shadow" on it. Walks over to Tarothin, "Are we confused now?"

"So are we leaving or not then?" Wick said. "If the water is a danger to us we should hightail it out of here. If not, then lets look for more clues as to what the hell has been going on here."

Looking away from the shadow, wick turned his eyes upon the cat girl. "Well if she wont make up her mind then we should listen to you, Catgirl Commander!" Wick said while giving a mock salute.

Never mind the catgirl commander for now, this is taking too long with Shadow going on vacation for days at a time.
You naturally wander over to the prisoner area. Either the demons have beat a hasty retreat with their prisoners or this guy was the last one left. One of the impromptu cells looks most unusual; it has a small splash of blood on the wall, and a useable Heal spell lying on the ground as though somebody did not have enough time to grab it before they left.

Wick grabed the spell and tucked it inside his belt. "I'll hold this for now, if any of you want it, let me know, my healing powers are far sufficiant enough." Moving on down the path, wick took the forefront, guideing the rest to the next dark room.

nuku runs to the front next to Wick hopefully hot on the trail of whoever left the blood and the spell in the last room.
