Gravechild6 I've been thinking that we should just do one genre at a time, with multiple bands from that genre. Good idea, although that does not leave much choice for people not interested in certain genres...

I think it would be more fair because if we let any genre in, it would just be those few genres winning i.e. folk/viking (which is funny because those forums are pretty much dead).
It may be a little too controlled, but this is a guild about all types of metal. Therefore, it would only be right that each genre gets attention.
Who knows somebody may listen to one of the bands from a genre they don't normally like and could end up really liking it and they would have never found that band otherwise. Like I'm not too fond of Power and Gothic but, I might end up liking one of the nominations from those genres and I wouldn't have found it any other way.

I think it's a good idea, a lot more easier to compare bands from one niche than it is from three non-related bands.

Ok, so it has been decided that we are going to do one genre at a time.
That means that we will carry over previous nominations to when that genre is up for voting (They are listed in the first post).
We will now start with the genres who have not won yet.
The ones that have won already are:
1. Folk - Korpiklaani
2. Doom - Black Sabbath
3. Thrash - Overkill
4. Heavy - Mercyful Fate
5. Viking - Ensiferum
6. Folk - In Extremo
7. Gothic - Xandria
8. Black - Summoning
The ones that need to win are:
Progressive
Power
Death
Metalcore (just stuff on the metalside)
Grind
I think it would be fine to just do them in that order.
So now we need your fav. Progressive bands for the next round.
