Nervous at the fact that she seemed alone now, Selyna stood and began looking around the cottage. Trisha? Where are you? What's going on? Fearful that she may be being setup for an attack, Selyna went and looked out the corner of the window, trying hard to hide herself while she did this. She didn't see anything that would cause her to worry, but she still didn't feel right. Looking back at her bag, she wondered if it wouldn't be a good idea to take it and run. Leaning her back against the wall next to the window, she hooked her left thumb into her pants poaket and ran her right hand over her forehead, sweeping the few loose strands out of her face. Where do I go from here? I'm obviously too chicken to do what I've been planning, and I have no one to go to... Closing her eyes she took a deep breath and tried to clear her head and think of a realistic plan.

Trisha walked towards the cottage after a bad night's rest. Her eyes were barely open as her mind had been tormented with images of her past. She had been young back then and, like all in her pack, was forced to grow up fast. Walking towards the cottage where she had left Selyna last night, as she had seemed in to much of a daze to really explain anything, Trisha sighed. She was carrying a basket filled with apples and bread, hoping it would be an alright meal, seeing as how it had been all she could find. Breifly allowing herself to wonder where the vampire Sesh had gone last night she shrugged. It was none of her buisiness and as long as the vampire wasn't harming her pack she could live with it. Opening the door to the cottage, Trisha found Selyna near the window, looking out as if afraid someone would come in and kill her. Deciding to ignore it, Trisha smiled brightly, though she knew it didn't reach her tired eyes. "Morning, Selyna," she said, placing her basket of food on the table. "Hungry?"

Jumping slightly as she hadn't heard Trisha come in, Selyna put her hand on her chest, an involuntary reflex most people had when their heart started beating quickly, as if this would somehow calm them. Hearing her hostess ask if she was hungry, Selyna's stomach did all, but jump onto the table to get the food itself. Yes, thank you. Morning. Sitting back at the table, she sat politely waiting fro Trisha to sit and eat as well. Looking over the woman's face though, she noticed how tired the werewolf looked and became concerned. Isn't my being here going to get you in trouble? Is that why you look so tired? Were you in trouble for me being here? At that moment it occured to Selyna just how little she actually knew about werewolves. Her father and brothers had taught her was to spot them so she could keep herself safe, but she hadn't been old enough to learn their eating, mating, or sleeping habits. For the first time in her life of knowing so much more than other hmans, Selyna felt truely ignorant and didn't know what to do or say.

Trisha took a seat at the table after Selyna. Her eyes still droopy, she was really tired but it was nothing she couldn't deal with. Warmed a little by Salyna's concern she shook her head. "Nay, I didn't get in trouble for you being here," she said with a small smile. "No one knows you are here, and the only woman who might have a clue something is going on wouldn't tell anyone. Though, if one of my fellow pack members does see you I will be taking a lot of heat, but I doubt that many people will truly get angry at me. It would be you, I'd fear for if that situation should occur." Sighing, Trisha shoved the basket of food towards Selyna. She had eaten that morning and was pretty much full. "Eat all you want," she said. "Sorry, I couldn't bring any meat or anything. That was all I could sneak out of the Nest today."

Confused by her concern for the werewolf, Selyna reasoned it had to be that Trisha was the only one who shown her any kind of concern or civilness since her family passed. Grabbing for an apple as she thought over the information she'd just received, she bit into it, her stomach knotting in anticipation of the food being there, she almost couldn't chew fast enough. Swallowing and taking another bite quickly, she covered her mouth with her left hand so as to not show her food as she spoke. How do I get out of here then? I could be your prisoner or something until I got to the edge of your lands and then take off? She'd swalled again and took another bite of the apple, grabbing for a piece of bread next, as if worried that if she weren't holding the food Trisha would take it away.

Trisha shook her head. If only it were that simple. But the girl knew of their pack now, and she knew of the vampires, as well. It was a dangerous combination as both of their groups worked hard to stay out of the public's eye. "I don't think that would work," Trisha said but continued on before she could respond in protest. "You are aware of us now, and that being said, even though I let you live, it is a wonder you haven't been killed by vampires yet. A human who is aware of us is like a beacon to both the vampires and wolves. We can smell it when we walk by as well as see the knowledge in your eyes. If I let you leave without any protection, you will be killed. It might not be by a wolf, but I assure you it will happen." She shook her head. "You fear me, don't you, Selyna?" Trisha asked, as she was trying to prove a point now.

Selyna was on her second piece of bread with an apple in her other hand. Stopping chewing momentarily as she looked at Trisha to gauge what she meant by her last question, she moved all of the food to one side and covered her mouth like she'd done before. Words a bit mumbled by the food, she spoke slowly to get her message out. Ov ou per-onally, no. Ov ou kilwing me, yes. Swallowing she took a smal break from eating. Although even that is just a fear of it being painful I haven't had a fear of death for years now. I tend to stay in crowded areas at all times, never went out anywhere when the orphanage allowed us free time or something like that. I know they see me, but I haven't had too many problems. Not even good enough for that I guess... Voice trailing off, her eyes got sad as she looked at the apple an took a huge bite out of it. Sitting there for a moments in silence until she'd swallowed again, she looked at Trisha and sighed. So what you're saying is I'm dead not matter what now, right? She bit into the apple again, surprisingly calm at the prospect of dying.

Matthias listened, and shrugged. He wasn't really liking this conversation from the start. It was bordering subjects he didn't like talking about and didn't really have answers to. He was hoping the whole thing would die, but he wasn't going to just shut up entirely, as that would have been rude and uncalled for. "Well thanks. I'll take it into consideration," he finally said, not meeting Lion's gaze.
Then he watched briefly as Cane flirted with the alpha then walked away, a smug smile on his face. Matthias realized it irritated him. Then he remembered the look on Cane's face when Dara reprimanded him the day before, and replaced his frown with a smirk.

Dara walked on in silence now as her cheeks still held heat from Cane's words. Honestly, he was encouragable. She could bite his head off one day for him being a complete jerk and then the next he would be trying to become her mate all over again. Honestly, she didn't know how to deal with-
Dara's train of thought was halted as she heard something off in the woods. It sounded like a distant cry. Stopping in her tracks she tilted her head slightly as she listened, Lion and Cane coming to stand behind her.
"What is-" Cane began.
"Shh," Lion hushed him as he listened too.
After a few moments of waiting Dara heard it a small cry ahead of them, slightly to the left. It sounded strange though, like a child's or someone in extreme pain.
"Do you think it's a trap?" she whispered. Her whole body had turned from anxious and happy to cautious and questioning with that one sound.

There was a brief silence among them for which Matthias was thankful. It gave him time to resettle his mind and refocus on the task at hand. Or at the very least, gave him time to think that he would be able to refocus, until he was rudely interrupted by a harsh cry. He stopped a few steps behind the others, hands slowly coming out of his pockets. Should a fight ensue, or a chase occur, Matthias was ready. He flexed his hands repeatedly, wondering what exactly would happen. "Well, Lady Dara, you are obviously top rank. What's our plan of action?" he spoke in a hushed tone, but loud enough for his voice to carry easily among htem.

Dara gave a small nervous laugh as she realized she really was the highest ranked and on the road that meant she had to make quick decisions. "Let's check it," she said after much thought, "but be cautious. We are out of the safety of the pack, and I don't want any surprises that'll be fatal." Dara sighed and slowly began to walk towards where she heard the cry. She was being much more cautious walking now, careful to not let her steps fall on any dry twigs. The last thing she needed right now was to give away their position by such stupidity.
Lion and Cane followed behind, though both were tensed and ready to fight and protect Dara should anything happen.
Dara paused again as she heard the cry again, it was strange this time. Surely it was nothing a grown person could make. The cry was quite a distance closer this time, and Dara knew they couldn't be that far away. Padding slowly forward but a few feet she quickly covered her nose as the smell of blood filled her nose, along with a lingering scent that she knew all to well. "Vampires," Dara whispered, but added as another scent hit her nose, "and humans..." She let that part in her voice trail off as when those two scents met it was always a tell tale sign of death for a human.

Matthias followed at the rear of the group in complete silence, and taking all the typical precautions to keep it that way. As they walked, he heard the noise again and then Dara murmuring something. A few seconds later, the scents washed over him, one after the other. "Trouble," he muttered. "It would be unwise to get involved, and yet... That person may very well be in trouble. What's the next step, Lady Dara?" Matthias didn't like constantly urging the alpha to make declarative statements, but he knew she needed some pushing for this to keep moving smoothly. She was out of her element, out here and away from the pack.

Dara sighed, letting her mind think for a few seconds. It could very well be a trap and if she pressed forward she could get them all killed. Then she thought of the horrible odds any human would have against a vampire and it made her sick to her stomache. Chances were the human was dead or near dying by now, and this was a trap. She knew she shouldn't press on, but as another cry filled the air she knew if she didn't she would hate herself.
"We press on," she whispered and walked forward as the two smells filled her nose. Walking on, she came to a small clearing and her eyes visibly widened as she stopped in her tracks. There was blood everywhere. Mutilated bodies of humans lay in every angle as blood still seaped out of open wounds. Dara had to keep herself from gagging on the horrible smell.
There had to be at least ten humans here, and from the looks of it they had each put up a good fight before they met their end. Looking around, she considered going back and leaving this scene of carnage, but then she heard the cry, much fainter this time, as if the being making it was exhausted. Narrowing her eyes on where it had come from she saw the form of a seamingly dead woman move slightly.
Walking through the carnage, Dara could almost feel the scolding gazes of Lion and Cane as they wanted her to turn back. Curiously walking over to the body, she poked the dead woman and finding no movement out of her she was about to turn back when she noticed the woman was huddled over something. Dara leaned forward and slowly lifted the womans body.
A scream filled the air as suddenly Dara was knocked back as someone had launched themself at her. Feeling tiny feet pounding into her body she growled and grabbed two tiny fists in her hands. Standing up she looked down at her attacker to find a young human boy of no older than four years old. Tears singed his eyes as he tried futily to attack her as she held him imobolized. Such sorrow and pain filled him that Dara's mind emidiatly connected the dots. The woman must have been his mother who had saved her child by sheilding him with her body.
Falling to her knees in front of the boy she hugged him, emidiatly halting his attempts of attacking her as he stiffened in her arms. Dara felt his tears hit her and felt the blood on his clothes sticking to her own set of clothing.
Turning a questioning gaze to the other three Dara slowly rocked back and forth with the boy held in her arms, whispering that she would keep him safe.
"What do you think happened here?" she asked the others as she clutched the boy to her and felt him slowly relax and cry into her shoulder.
Trisha sighed. That was exactly what she was trying to get at, and yet she was the type of person who tried to look on the bright side of things. She could admit that Selyna was most likely dead, but she always held hope.
"No, with me protecting you, I don't think our alpha will let the pack kill you," she stated firmly. Dara very well knew Trisha's sense in people was usually good and she was positive she wouldn't let the pack kill this girl.

Some shrieks caught Sesheta's attention as she meandered along. Though her sensitive ears always picked up the sound around her, she was surprised to smell blood. On swift feet she silently ran toward the scent.
All of a sudden she saw a bunch of werewolves. Her surprise didn't stop her as she reflexivly jumped into a tree. A grim expression crossed her face as she surveyed what seemed to be going on. From the looks of the dead woman and the screams, a vampire was nearby. The werewolves aren't liking this at all, are they? she commented to herself.
The vile she had placed on herself before was still working. The werewolves couldn't smell her, but no doubt could sense her if they tried. As long as I don't get cut around them, they won't know I'm a vampire, she hoped. Her blood would smell like a vampire even if her skin didn't. Then with a wince she remembered her sharp canines. At the smell of blood they may enlarge, so she'd had to be careful not to smile too much.
A cold rush filled her vains at a realization. If they find me, they may think I'm the vampire that did this. Sesheta slide futher down her perch on her branch and placed her hat over her eyes. This could be a problem.

Selyna stashed a few of the apples away for later in her bag, while grabbing herself another piece of bread for now. Why not just kill me yourself then? Pardon, but that’s what you’re supposed to do right? The girl had long since accepted the fact that she wouldn’t die from old age, and now with death so close, it seemed so far away. Not that I’m not happy, but your family killed mine like a person would step on an ant. What gives? For the first time, Selyna really looked at Trisha, wondering what went on in the world of werewolves that had her looking so tired. Surely they were at the top of the food chain, so what real worries could they possibly have? Taking in the darks kin and long almost white hair, she wondered just how nice it must be to relax without a care in the world. So how are you going to stop them then? What could they possibly hear from you that would save me? I heard my dad talk of royalty among your packs, are you a member? The questions came out with sincere interest, like that of a young child discovering things for the first time.
