Kitsune Ookami Takiko-chan Kitsune Ookami In the manga Godchild (aka Count Cain) there is a girl who was born with a deformed face and her parents didn't even love her, she wears a mask, and only one character didn't look at her with fright and I started thinking "FEMALE ERIK whee " There are lots of references in Count Cain! 1) There's a guy called Eric who was holding a piece of rope once: I thought he was going to strangle someone, but he died before he had the chance. 2) In a chapter, they talked about the legend of the "Dark Angel" a man who wore dark clothes, including a hat and a cape! 3) (probably not a reference, but I'll say it anyway) On the story of the serial killer that devour's people's stomatch, a girl says that she hears a song at night, as if someone's singing it in her ear. 4) There's a girl who gets her face burned, and when Cain looks at her, you see that THE RIGHT HALF OF HER FACE is burned, very much like AWL's Erik. I haven't get to the part with the deformed girl who isn't loved, though. When does that happen? that one is in a really early chapter (like chapter five) it's where Cain's illegitimate brother (Jizabel) is introduced) Okay, thanks! I really need to re-read it... I can't even remember about a brother. o_O Only a sister. Does this story comes after the Kafka one? Because I only read till that point.

Paint It Black by Voltaire
He was talking about making candelabras by taking bottles and putting a candle in them then letting the wax drip down the side. Anyways , he then said "After a couple of weeks, the wax will build up and give your candelabra that "I found it in the Phantom of the Opera's lair" look!"

Everytime I hear someone singing really badly I think to myself, 'Where's the phantom when he's needed?! He needs to drop something on this person!' lol

The Adams Family: I was watching the old movie today. Gomes is taking Fester (who'd been missing for years and finaly reappeared) down to their old hideaway. After going down a slide, theres a boat upon a foggy lake like in phantom. They start rowing through this large poto-like cavern. I was squealing

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, I read through the pages. But Disney Channel made an original movie, entitled, Phantom of the Megaplex. I was ticked off at first, but felt the need to watch it. Guy wears mask and cape, terrorizes theater, secret area in theater, blah blah blah. Well, I was getting ticked after the millionth chorus of organs, and this guy asking, "When are we going to get a nice organ??". But one part of the movie, they find the movie poster for the Lon Chaney version. Moo-ha-ha. Still didn't like the movie.
Also, in To Kill a Mockingbird, they describe Boo Radley as I imagine the phantom. They say he lived in the dark basement of the court house for a while, and now is rotting away in the Radley house. He's got the gaunt face and everything. But what keyed it in for me was when it said, and I quote, "inside that house lived a malevolent phantom". ...Hm. Coincidence perhaps..

Not a PotO reference exactly but highly amusing nonetheless. But one day, my community service place was closed for a workshop (it's now closed for good and I am REALLY pissed since I was going there since I was a child and I've been dancing there for years) and so I headed into the downtown area to go to Borders when I got commandeered by my friend working at the movie theatre. We somehow got talking about ghosts and she told me that there was a ghost lingering in the projection room and Theatre 5. I fell over laughing.

My little brother was watching Duel Masters and I noticed one bad guy was dressed in a long flowing cape and he looked like he was wearing a white mask like that Phantom. I'm just like: gonk Nothing is sacred anymore!

Maybe someone has said this allready, but I haven't read all the reference pages yet. Anyways-
I was watching Pepper Ann, the Disney cartoon on Disney Channel. And Pepper Ann got a huge zit on her forehead and she was ranting on about never showing her face in public again or something like that and then there was this moment when she imagines herself working in a food shop and someone there goes asks if she(Pepper Ann) could serve them their food and they show her back, and she turns around and she has a white half mask on. I only vaguely remember that episode, but I remember that moment. And I laughed like a loon on loon pills when I saw the mask...I dunno why it was funny.

I was watching spongebob and that same thing happened, spongebog thought everyone was running away because he was so ugly. (he had bad breath, actualy) so Patrick enters his house to find him playing the organ and wearing........those glasses with the fake moustash (how the hell is that spelled?) anyway, that was funny.

XD Anyways, If anyone has read the Anita Blake novels by Laurell K. Hamilton, there is a wonderful character by the name of Asher(=Erik). (Spoilers ahead) One half of his body is burned and mutated, and the other half is gorgeous. And in his past, his love(=Christine) was captured, and as she died, instead of calling Asher to save her, instead she calls for Jean Claude(=Raoul). It's much more in depth, but you get the picture
