My most embarassing moment.
I was moving the chimes and they went to fast. I went in front of them to stop them since we were going down hill at band camp and the fell over right on top of me. I broke my arm under the wait and had to go to the hospital to have it rebroken and set while my parents where at least 100-200 miles away. Im petrified of shots and had to have in IV. I cried on the camp nurse. Then I came back to camp and the teachers had said after I left the night before,
"Lainey had to go to the hospital for a broken arm. Lets practice hard so she will be able to listen to good music when she gets back." It got the band riled and the teachers where so happy that an hour before I came back they said,
"Lainey is coming back. Lets practice hard for her sake." Then I got back and had to listen to music. I was suppossed to hang out with friends duing break and ended up drugged from the pain medicene that I slept through it. At lunch in front of everyone my section leaders handed me a huge sign saying get well soon signed by every one. It was embarassing. Altough when my friend woke up at midnight to find four chaperons in our room looking for clothes for me the nest day had to be bad too.

well we were at a concert and we were playing legends in the mist. its a really cool peice and frenchorns have a relly cool part in it and it starts out with a whole note then (well u dont need 2 hear that) but ne way i was(french horn) plyaing getting ready for my part and i come in a beat early and everybody else was resting so u could hear me above everyone else cuz no one was playing. and what made it worst is i didnt realize it but what was cool is that everyone in the stands thought it was a solo and i got applause yea but my band new and thats all that relly mattered. sweatdrop

Not really embarrassing just weird. My friend Nick and I were at the Spring concert. We were walking to our spots when Nick's valve oil fell. I tried to kick it to him but it went under this girls chair and she had a skirt on. Nick started yelling at me and I told him he was the cause and I was just the effect. After that I deicided to ask her to give it to me. Right when I was going to ask her though, Mr. Olsen, the conductor, moved us to the other Trumpet section. Then Nick told me that his friend was a big Spy Gear Nerd and that there might be a camera in there. So the next day he told me that the camera was in there and he got it live on his friends computer.

My school's concert band was at Jersey this year for the festival, and we were starting to play the choral when I squeaked......I deny it till this day to anyone who goes to my school. But you can hear it on the recording we have....makes me feel all warm and fuzzy....XD
Then my 7th grade year it was my first time relaly marching since we dont have a marching band in our district. And well lets just say that wasn't very good at staying in line...a senior had to keep yelling at me so I would stay in line.
Also at the memorial day parade in Deep River (we switch off every year between the three towns since its a regional high school) I was fine marching, playing the songs, but when we got to the last memorial I kinda got really hot and my asthma started to act up soooo I took off my long sleve band shirt (I had a t-shirt underneath). My BD caught me....yelled at me to put it back saying it wasnt fair to everyone else....yeah it kinda was: I was starting to have a bloody asthma attack stare

The only embassing band moment I can think of is when we where marching for the homecoming parade and right as we get to the people who annouce whats passing my clarinet falls apart sweatdrop

"The only thing I can think of is a few years ago, the band went to the UIL competition, and this girl was wearing green and white striped socks.. And my b.d said that they start grading on how we are dressed and how we act when we first walk in..... Now we have to wear uniforms..." crying stare

we had a copetiction and it was raining and the field was so wet they had to put hamster chips on the field. well it went from bad to werse. 1st someone last a shoe and then we had to go to a sit that the flags had to get on the ground and they had to roll and the came up covered in mud and hamster chips.and the were white unifores. then a tuba slipped and tuck with him 2 other tubas.i felt sorry for my brother because he was one of the tubas that fell. that was the werst .

Well you know when your told NOT to lock your knees. During something, I can't remember what it was for but a lot of people was there, my band had to play the National Anthem and I don't remember locking my knees cause I kept bending them. Anways, I ended up falling like a bored forwards. Not who ever was there to see me do that they always tell me when we have to stand "Don't fall!"

It was a night rehersal for marching season and for a while, the trumpets kept getting their drill wrong. I was in the guard and right next to the trumpets. We had started playing and I started doing my flag work. As I was spinning, my flag got caught on something. I thought it was my sweater, so I kept hitting it. Turns out, it was half the trumpet section I kept hitting! I hit the sl and this really cute trumpet player. They gave me the dirtiest look. After the practice, my BD said " Hey trumpets! Don't think you want to get your drill wrong agian!" and he explained to the rest of the band what had happened. They thought it was hilarious! Needless to say, the trumpets got their drill right from then on

my friend tried out for drum major, and he was the youngest there. There were five other people going out for the position.
5 of the six had to stand in a block while the remaining person called commands. They got called to attention and my friend went directly into a horns up. Everyone else kinda gave him a little sideways look, and he turned bright red and went into attention.
All te people judging rolled their eyes... He did end up getting DM though.

crazygeniusgrl meilee we have these black manhasset stands and they have been known for coming apart because they are a bit old. i was pulling on the top of it to make it taller and it came off and hit my face. i have done that SO many times before! those stands need to die! heart

We have to sing for mail at band camp and my girlfriend sent me a letter with a bunch of lipstick kisses all over it.... I sang you are so beautiful, how embarassing....
And I agree with the stand comment people...I've seen so many people pull those tops off it's crazy.

The most embarressing moment for me was the day I got my braces. I snuck back into the band room with out him noticing. A lot of kids did notice. I sat down with my trumpet out and tried to play. I could get no notes out. Then, my section had already been doing poorly. He had to go down the line. crying I go first since I am section leader and it is sad when the section leader can't get a note out. It is sad when second best in the band has lost all ability to play for even 5 days. They all were starting to laugh until he asked if I had been there a few minutes before and I said no and he saw my braces. Then I just had to pretend to play along. smile

This is not really one of mine it is one if mi friends but they play trumpet (I play Bass Clarinet) and he did not have a solo or anything and he is last chair and sounds really bad well he stood up and started playing another random song so mostly alll of the band and another 1 that was there were laughing and we had to start completely over it was so embarissing

First concert of the year... I'm getting up in between songs to go play the baritone for a song... suddenly, a really REALLY evil saxophone sticks his leg out and I trip... Wait, I dont trip, I go flying.
Then there's that time our BD thought it'd be cool if WE introduced the music (lazy butt). So I had to introduce this Wagner song. On the bus I memorize it and keep repeating it... I dont remember what it was... Something about capturing Wagner's "genius". Anywho, at the concert I get up to the podium and I GO BLANK!!! It sucked... I was like "uh...oh...Wagner...next." I blew it crying xp stare
