It took me a while to get off the wheel of doom too. I remember when I had to play that game with the bowl and the three dice. I can't remember what it's called. sweatdrop That was a pain. It took me a while to figure out I needed characters with high luck to play it.

If that game was a person, he would be ugly and stupid and I would disembowel him.

Actually, no. There are quite a few who would want to make love to him.
I know, I know. It's incomprehensible.

Wait, Tai Ho Chinchirorin or Gaspar Chinchirorin?
If it's Gaspar Chinchirorin, then maybe. I dunno, he seems to suck at the game. If it's Tai Ho Chinchirorin, then asdfghjkl;guzwha?

Well the game was fine if you had high luck, then you got money everytime you played, but if you had low level characters in your party you would quickly see your funds go out window.

So.
I was just at lunch today, and was arguing with a friend of mine about Suikoden I. Now he, having only played S1 and disliking it immensly, says "Suikoden [the series] sucks." The conversation went like this:
Me: What!? Friend: Yeah, it does! Me: You played like half an hour of it! Friend: I played for three hours! Me: You must have been lost then. Friend: I wasn't lost! Me: Did you get a True Rune yet? Friend: No. Me: ...

As none of you know, I've become almost entirely obsessed with how awesome Elite Beat Agents for the Nintendo DS is.
And me, being a videogame fanwhore, decided it would be fun to start writing up and possibly drawing EBA comics.
To bring this back around to Suikoden, I thought of one for Suikoden 1. Odessa dies and leaves Tir the leadership of the Liberation Army. But Tir can't convince anyone to join up! Kwanda and the other Imperial Generals attack the base! But with nobody around, what can be done?
HEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLLP!
AGENTS ARE GO!
The basic layout of the "level" would be to have Tir recruiting various recruits each play section, then taking out the generals in some order. Kwanda, Milich, Teo/Kassim, Sonja/Yuber and then defeating Barbarossa and Windy for the finale is probably what I'll do.
I want to draw this all up but I can't for the life of me think of any songs to go along with it. The song needs to fit the situation in some context, but also be long enough to support 5 segments. Suggestions?

You know, I really need to get that game.
Hmm, let's see... "Do you hear the people sing?", "Red and Black", and "One Day More!" from Les Mis would probably work for at least one of the segments.
If I'm correct in assuming the layout you're talking about goes "Recruit->Fight General/Singing->Recruit->Fight General/New Song", then... Disco Inferno for Kwanda ('Cause of the Burning Mirror). That's all I can think of right now.

I gues I should explain how EBA works, huh?
Each level has one song that plays throughout the whole level. Each level is broken into several parts based on the story and based around when the music breaks.
My idea follows the following level layout.
Beginning(No music, story set up) AGENTS ARE GO Intro(music starts up, agents warm up, 3, 2, 1, GO) Gameplay section Story Gameplay section Story Outtro
So basically, my idea for this "level" would be like so(v. v. condensed)
Opening: Odessa dies in sewer, passes on army to Tir. New scene; they've taken Toran Castle, Mathieu is there. "We've taken the castle, Tir, but it seems we have some visitors" Shot of outside castle, army advancing. Close up of Kwanda "Hahaha we are going to deate you once and for all, Liberation Army". Tir calls for army to form up, nobody is there except for his retainers. "We haven't recruited anybody yet!" Oh no!
HEEEEEAAAALLLLLLP!
AGENTS ARE GO(Agents use the Blinking Mirror to teleport into Toran Castle)
MISSION: Extra Stage 4: Help wanted! Allies to defend the castle!
Intro: Tir: "We must recruit more allies to defeat the Imperials!"
Scene w/ Tir recruiting early characters while Agents dance; Lepant, Kirkis, etc
Success! Kwanda is defeated! But in his place, here comes Milich with a bigger army! Oh no, we need more allies!
Scene w/ Tir recruiting people. Possible 'messing up' joke with Tir gagging from the Flower pollen. REcruiting various mid-game characters, Luikan, Quincy, etc.
Success! Milich is defeated! But in his place, Teo and Kassim show up with mounted troops! Oh no, we need more allies!
Scene w/ Tir recruiting Mose, Ronnie Bell, etc.
Success! They are defeated. But here comes Barbarossa and Windy for the final attack! Oh no, we need more allies!
Final Scene, Tir recruiting Leon, Ruby, etc.
Success! Barbarossa & Windy are defeated, Tir and army rejoice! Victory!
YEAH. MISSION COMPLETE.
So I need one single song that fits the level's theme, that could plal through the whole thing(IE: I'll be writing the lyrics in the backgrounds of the images, w/ dancing Agents here and there)
I hope that's clear enough. I'm terrible at explaining what I'm thinking.

Oh, well in that case, "Do you hear the people sing?" could possibly work.

I'm trying to get a friend of mine hooked on it so I'll probably force her to play Suikoden 1 since it is technically the less strategically demanding then the other games. Or so I think. She's played Zelda forever and refuses to experience other games. Sadness. crying I wish Suikoden I could have come with some beast for the army, like the squirrels in Suikoden 2 and the dogs in Suikoden 3.
