The small ball wriggled within Jizzy's bag. It almost vibrated before spiking in all directions, then reforming a sphere. As if it were fighting to escape, a shape began to emerge from the sphere. Spikes flared in and out as it tunbled onto the ground, safe on some grass. A bright orange head, black and white wings and spines. The little creature uncoiled itself from the ball it had tried to roll itself into, peeking up at those looking at it.

[ my o_o that looks awesome ]

Hearing the commotion from another side of the crowd, Abbey peered over. Another Aerandir birth? Well, we're having a busy day, aren't we?

The girl began to make her way over to Jizzy, at which point False began to squirm; Abbey's arms were comfortable but also notfun and he couldn't see the weirdblue from here and could he get down already? Abbey crouched to let him leap onto the ground with a squawk, wings flapping awkwardly.

Wings furling back tightly against his back, the gryphon reared up onto his hind legs in an ungainly attempt to watch the weirdblue. When another creature almostmaybe like him emerged from the weirdblue, False immediately trotted over, intrigued. Apparently highly pleased, he sniffed at the spikedone.

With a cautious eye on False, Abbey smiled at Jizzy, still in a crouch, "He looks lovely, Jizzy."

[ You might have noticed that False makes up words. It's how I imagine his mind to work. It'll probably make slightly more sense when he adopts a voicebox. ]

Delta still had no idea what this "play" thing was. She could guess at what hide-and-seek was, but she had a feeling that if she hid too well that it could turn out badly. Besides, all the good hiding places would require her to get filthy to fully obscure her blue feathers. Getting dirty was tolerable, getting filthy was not. Looking at Nehanda questioningly, she enjoyed all the nice scratching. Mmmm.... her mother wasn't this good at this form of worship. n_n

Jizzy gaped at the small ball of spikes which now lay on the grass in front of her. She watched it uncoil and the thought hit her.. This was Tobias.. She placed her hand near the small Aerandir and stroked the feathers atop his head softly.

"Thanks, Abbey.."

Tobias opened his eyes, peering around and made a small clicking noise as he felt a hand atop his head.. That felt nice.. He looked around him and spotted many large things, like the one who was stroking him and few small things, like him..

Jizzy finished stroking him softly and carefully picke dhim up, watching out for his pointed spines.

"You were about to miss the party, Tobias.."

SHe said, smiling broudly down at him and resuming her stroking movement.

Tobias gave a small 'hoop' of joy and nestled into the big thing's arms. He liked this big thing... yes he did.

Nehanda sighed a bit. Delta didn't really look too interested in the sorts of play she usually engaged in. Raising a hand to her mouth, like Foenix had taught her was polite, she stifled a yawn. The emergance of that first new Aerandir gryphon had interrupted her nap, and she was still a little sleepy.

Looking back at Delta, she continued to scratch the back of the gryphon's neck. "If you wike, we can just sit and watch de odders over dere. We don' hav' to pway anyting." She flapped her cape a bit, for the fun of it, and settled down next to Delta to observe the fuss being made over the three new gryphons. "I don' weally see what de big deawl is. We have wots of gwyphons."

Delta nodded enthusiastically at this. Indeed, there were more than enough gryphons... and why should she admire other "births" when no one had really been on hand to properly admire her own? Deciding she really didn't have a very good seat and Nehanda had been so obliging earlier, she clambered into the small girl's lap. Mmm... much more nice and cushy.

"Keee-aaa?" Was this all right? in Delta language. Then she got distracted by the cap again, and leaned on Nehanda's lap to peer at it more closely. It had some weird stripe criss-crosses going on, but she rather liked the color. Mebbe once she got older they could do some matching capes. Start a fad or something.

Sanar clicked as the KunKun began to approach her, legs tensing and looking like she was about to bolt off of Chao's shoulder. But as the KunKun began to loving stroke her she relaxed a bit, wings ruffling in pleasure as a deep noise emminated from her throat. Ah, yes, being patted there was very nice, as were the noises the other small creature was making.

Still, her ears flickered against the KunKun's fingers as the clink of glass sounded again and her eyes flickered to the spiky glowing ball, eyes trailing after it as a newshape fell to the ground and was joined by a spotted gryphon.

She clicked to Yaraif and manuvered her head away, with a bound and a flap of her wings hit Chao's lap and, using the surface as a spring board, bounded onto the ground, nearly stumbling over her own feet before finding purchase in the soft ground and making her way towards the other Gryphons.

Chao clapped her hands together happily as Tobais materialized and was about to call to her friends Sanar bounced off her lap and onto the ground her attention was drawn back to her Gryphon.

Where's she off to? she wondered, standing and looking ahead to see that Sanar seemed to simply be heading for the other gryphons a little ways off.

Beconing Progolo and Yaraif to come with if he wanted she quickly headed after her charge, waving to Jizzy and Abbey and peering down at Tobais and the approaching False once she was closer. "Oh Jizzy, he's so handsome! And False is amazing, congratulations!"

Jizzy heard her friends voice and nodded in agreement. She felt.. well she wasn;t sure how exactly she felt, but it was good She stroked Tobias for another minute or two before he blinked, wriggled sligltly and made his way out of her arms.

Tobias has spooted a rather big small thing.. much bigger than him and it had caught his attention. He wriggled out of his mother's.. she was is mother he supposed and worked his way over to the big four legged one.

'Hoop..hooop..'

He said in greeting to the large gryphon.

Yaraif giggled as she felt, more than heard, the rumble of Sanar's chest. She babbled excitedly to Progolo and Chao in kunkunese.

But, after the third sound of breaking glass and the flash of a brilliant light, Sanar was off. Yaraif, starlted, darted into Progolo's hands, trembling. Progolo watched in only mild surprise. What surprised him most was Chao's invitation to follow as she stood to tail her Gryphon. He obliged, keeping a short distance behind his new accquaintence.

When they reached Chao's apparent friends, he made no comment about the Gryphons, preferring to just stand back and stare.

Sanar ruffled her wings as she was greeted, dropping down her neck so she'd be on more or less the same level as the smaller gryphon. Her keen black eyes examined him for a moment, intruiged by the bright colors that littered him.

She took a step closer and clicked a return greeting.

Chao laughed quietly and watched the two gryphons fondly, feeling the familar surge of maternal insticts stir within her.

Noting that Progolo was trailing a bit behind her she turned, "oh yes, guys this is Progolo and Yaraif, visitors to our fine island. Progolo and Yaraif this is Jizzy and Tobais," she gestured to each in turn, "and this is Abbey and False."

Progolo was terrible with names, but Abbey, at least, would be easy to remember.

--How many women walked around in pajamas, anyway?

"Nice to met you," Progolo said softly, nodding his head to the two women and smiling at the Gryphons. "Miss Abbey, Miss Jazzy, and...Tobias and False."

Yaraif peered out from between Progolo's loosely laced fingers and waved haltingly, sizing the four up curiously.

Sin wandered tiredly through the silent festival-grounds. She hadn't been able to come the previous day, and was filled with the large sense that she had missed something rather important.

Mentally, she kicked herself, knowing that the broken glass under her feet had to mean something. Was there anyone about at this hour? She wondered, heading off towards the food carts.

Nehanda giggled. Delta's hooves tickled! She placed her hands gently around the gryphon to steady her, and continued her scratching. It felt sort of nice to have Delta sitting there. She knew that the gryphon was nearly self-sufficient, and certainly didn't need her protection, but . . . it still gave her a funny warm feeling inside.

When Delta leaned over to examine her cape, she pulled it around. "It's my super cape. Fweenix says dat super hewos have capes, so dis makes me a super hewo. I gots magic powers!" She frowned a little, because she still didn't know exactly what those powers were . . .

Magic powers?! That was the stuff that fairy tales were made of! She could certainly use some super powers like super balancing skills. Or something. Okay, so she was still unclear on these magic powers like Nehanda, but that didn't keep her from jumping up and dancing about uncharastically.

So even the oh-so-composed Delta could get excitable. Once in a while... when no one was paying attention. >>;;;

Unfortunately, at this unopportune time her mother sprang upon the pair looking quite frantic. "Delta, Delta, we need to go! I need to go home so we can..." Suddenly she seemed to realize that Nehanda was there. "Oh, hello dear. I'm a bit frazzled today." n_n;;;

Delta just shook her head at her mother.

"I'm afraid I have to take Delta home now. I'm her mother, Syrenrei. Maybe she can visit you later?"
