"Wow, you seem to take a lot of abuse, don't you?" Progolo asked Kiran. "You're just lucky you don't have feathers, or Yaraif would be pulling them out. But anyways, I didn't realize that Trelweny was a mother. Then again...I don't really ask about things like that."
Yaraif tore through the plants, giggling at her own cleverness. Behind her, she heard Tien shouting something, but she couldn't quite hear her...
"Heke?" she called over her shoulder.
Well...she only managed to say "he-" before she suddenly collided with something hard.

Kiran beamed. "Yeah! I guess I do!" Locke gave him funny look. Then he rolled his eyes Heaven-ward, closed them, & shook his green head as if the action would clense his mind of the persekitty's wierdness.
"Not many who helped the kyendi pantheon search the rabbit god's tunnels knew Trel was expecting. She hid it well & we didn't speak of it." The cait gave an animalish version of a shrug. "And it's not like you guys have seen each other since then."
"Yarf!" Tien hurried anxiously to its friend's side, violet eyes wide with worry. "Teln san yegdre?"

Progolo smiled at Locke's exasperation, hardly suppressing a laugh.
"So, how old is the baby?" he asked.
Yaraif stared upward as three Tiens bent over her. She groaned, closed her eyes, and opened them again. The three Tiens sidled into one, who asked, "Teln san yegdre?"
"Uhhhh..." Yaraif replied, smiling lopsidedly. "Ow..."
She sat up with difficulty, rubbing her head. Whatever she'd run into had dissappeared. She distinctly remembered that it had been furry...

"Theron will be two come April. I'm a month older than he is. Humans seem to grow up so slow." Curiousity not belittling colored his words. The cait just wondered why this should be so.
Tien clapped its hands in glee seeing Yaraif sit up. "San teln yegdre!" With a squeel Tien practically dive bombed the Easter kun for after booboo hugs.
((Perhaps we should cll this 'day' over sometime soon. I was clse to saying Theron would be two years old in two months when I remembered the day we're on actually happened between Halloween & Christmas. *sheepish* & I'm the one who said that! sweatdrop ))

Progolo mused. "Humans tend to live for a long time. It's a fair trade-off, I think." He stood, with difficulty, to allow some blood to flow to his feet. "Hm...where did those kun-kun go?" he asked suddenly. Yaraif was still slightly dizzy but appreciated the hugs just the same. She clambered to her feet. "Yauf all better!" she declared. ((Sure...I'll start to wrap it up. 3nodding ))

"I suppose so. hmmm? The kuns? I don't know." Locke rose to a standing position & looked around frantically. "oh no... I cna't lose Tien too!"
Kiran blinked & stretched lazily. "Aw, come on. You know it always comes back."
"Yegdre!" Tien practically shouted. The relieved kun offered its shoulder for Yaraif to lean on. "Idme tabas sila?" Still worried, Tien knew the best place for booboo recovery was home.
Locke's ears perked up, hearing Tien's voice. "Tien!" With a bound, he followed the sound.

Progolo followed after Locke. Tien's voice sounded happy, so the two probably weren't hurt...but still...
"Ene..." Yaraif pouted. "Idme stay, disa!"

"Booyaka!" Coming upon the kuns Locke was not sure why he was surprised to hear Tien use Trel's favorite happy exclamation, except that the kun usually used 'nenemne' instead. He slowed his pace so as not to zoom past them... or stomp the small fae-like beings. Tien was obviously getting happier, by the sound of it's voice. "San idme stay disa? Ero idme san disa! Disa!" The lst was more like a ralling cry than a command as Tien's eyes lit up happily. It scanned the length of its vision, forgetting that Yaraif might really be hurt after the other kun's refusal to go home. Anyone who wanted to play must be okay! Violet eyes spied moving green fur as Locke neared & practically sparkled with delight.
"Yarf! Yarf! Disa! San y ero ride Locke!" With a hop & a flutter of its wings it zipped past the startled cait's face to turn wildly behind his ear, grabbing on to it to help its curving flight against the previous forward momentum. Giggling, the kun flapped the large green er like a horse's reign.
Momentarily startled & at the same time pleased to have Tien back, it took Locke a moment for realization to dawn. "Awww... I suppose we can have one ride before we should head home. But hold onto my collar this time, okay?"
With a happy screech Tien complied, waving wildly for its fellow kun to join it. Much fun!

"Did you find them?" Progolo asked anxiously as he drew closer to the spot where he had suddenly stopped. He saw a little shimmer of blue wings...Tien. He smiled, relieved.
Yaraif jumped up and down with excitement. "Sek! Disa! Ride Locke! Nenemne~!" Her recent injury was forgotten for the moment.
Progolo looked amusedly at Locke. The cait seemed very patient to let such obnoxious creatures ride him. "Don't pull his fur, got it?" Progolo told Yaraif when he saw his kun-kun emerging from the plant life and settling next to Tien. "Once you're done, we need to go home."
"Yureshe..." Yaraif pouted.

Locke grinned, feeling two sets of tiny kunkun hands along his ruff as Tien & Yaraif grabbed handholds in his neck fur. Idly he looked around for the most open strait path he could take; it was fun to hear kunkuns shriek with glee when they were flying not of their own accord. The treasure hunter wanted to be able to sure them of that good a ride. Deciding on a route, the green cait gave a sharp nod of his head as if finalizing it to himself. With a crooked grin he tilted his head to eye the kuns in his periphrial vision. "Ready? 'cause here we go!"
Not waiting for a response he took off, having seen & felt enough to know their holds were as good as they would ever be. Locke had to mke a few jolting dashes left & right to avoid small foliage before reaching the more open expnance directly before the large tree. The moment his feet touched the shorter grasses there he let loose a burst of speed & ran full tilt. He could feel little kun bodies lift from their seats on his shoulders, though the oull on his fur from their grips increased. It did not hurt; they had grabbed enough fur to spread the strain, & it was not as if they weighed much anyway.
Tien squeeled with delight, loving the rushing feeling of the wind in its face & its body rising up & down with no care of wind or thermals. "EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!"
Dancing excitedly, Kiran ran circles around Progolo's feet. "Come on! Come on! Let's keep up so we can watch!" With a quick turn he bolted off after the others, practically to the beat of his song.

Yaraif squealed with fear, but it quickly turned into a scream of delight. It was all she could do to hold on and laugh at the same time.
Progolo chuckled, striding after Kiran.

Locke ran until he could feel the tiny grips on his fur loosening from holding on so long. He grinned, amazed again that even the tiny bundles of energy could tire. Of course, that knowledge was part of why he did not mind these "rides"... it made for a few moments of peace when Tien tuckered out.
Trotting to meet back with Progolo & Kiran he let his step have a little more bounce. Just to keep the kuns giggling, but not enough for them to bounce off. He knew where that level was for Tien, but just to be on the safe side he went a smidgeon under that for Yaraif. Especially considering she had just been hurt.
Kiran huffed to a stop, circling the cait's front paws slowly as Locke arrived. Locke's bandit mask fur pattern heightened the laughter in his yellow eyes as he looked up to Progolo. "I'm afraid the kunkuns might be tuckered out."

Progolo smiled. "Needless to say, that doesn't happen very often..." he stooped and gently pried Yaraif off of Locke's back. "I do believe its time to go little one. You look like you could use a nap anyways..."
Yaraif had been giggling from the ride, but she stopped abruptly at the mention of going home. "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeene!" she wailed.

Tien instantly joined its brethren in pouts and refusals to leave. "Yureshe! Ene tabas sila! Ene tabas sila!" The kun's cry rose with Yaraif's. The boys shared a glance. If they could have seen it themselves they would have recognised it for one they often could not stand to see Trelweny share with Aiden or Myranda when used because of them.
Sighing, Locke accepted that as eldest it was his job to see this through. "But Tien, Shippou & the twins are at home."
"Maybe Trel & the baby too!" Kiran piped up whistfully, voice bubbling with hope. Ever so slowly, Tien started to calm down; fluttering gently closer to her family-mates.
"Disa mit bay-bee?" It asked, almost reverently. Locke's eyes twinkled at having got the kun's tuny attention. "You know how Theron loves to play with you, Tien. Besides, we can always come & play with Yaraif & Progolo again."
"Nenemne!" Shrieked Tien, flying to first hug Progolo's nose then squeeze Yaraif in a wonderful kun-to-kun sized embrace. Locke shook his head so he could hear again from the shrillness & closeness of the kun's exclamation. "Nenen Yarf! Nenen Progo! Ahm nerae disa mit san pelae mas, sek?!?"
It was both statement & question, even as Tien eventually released the Easter Kun & the threesome said their goodbyes & headed home. They all wanted to come back & play with their friends more another day.
((put the non-kunkunese of Tien's in italics for you, even though I prety much reiterated it in the last sentance.))

((new day... closer to current date. -for my own reference this is after first getting to speak with Koniryu in the Turtle's Paradise tavern-)) Aiden carried Kiran on his back, glancing backwards from time to time at Trelweny pulling TheronDeVon in his red wagon. She had been driven to seatbelt him in & the audio rhetoric wondered if it might not have been easier had she brought him in the stroller. He supposed the wagon was more versitle, but keeping the toddler in its confines was a chore.
In a blur of blue-gray Tien rushed past his nose, nearly knocking his headphones out of whack. "Pelae! Where teln san?" With a soft smile Aiden swept a blue paw after the kun both playfully & as a show of displeasure. On his back, Kiran danced, singing along to his track. "I'm walking on sunshine! Woah-oh! I'm walking on Sunshine! Woah-oh!" I'm walking on sunshine! Woah-o-oh! & it's starting to feel good!!"
Chuckling softly, Aiden turned down the sound on his own music. His Highlander movies soundtrack was currently on "Who Wants to Live Forever?" & he always tried not to sing along much around Trelweny. Today was not a day for something so close to her heart. Why needlessly bring her down? Let her walk on sunshine with the persekitty.
Now that they were in the meadow, Trelweny let herself relax. They were well out of sight from the remains of the Kyendi Village tree. She had no interst in seeing the state of the once thriving & so much alive place. She could feel a difference in the area... it was inevitable with such a large living thing removed from it as well as those who once lived in its branches. Here however they could not see even where the great tree had once been from the other trees around the meadow. With a quirky smile Trelweny picked up her son's dropped sippy cup & gave it back to him. It was good to be back.
From his seat, Theron pouted in frustration. All of his attempted tantrums had been ignored & he was fed up with not being allowed out of the wagon. There was so many interesting & new things to see & explore & touch & learn! How dare he not be kept from them! He tossed his cup again angrily.
Trelweny stopped the wagon. "I think this will do." She smiled at those of her family that had joined her today. Well, those that were nearby. Tien was flitting about searching for her 'pelae' everywhere. Turning to release Theron she gve a small frown as her brow wrinkled. "Theron, where's your sippy this time?"
The nearly two year old grinned impishly & pointed one barely chubby hand. His mother followed his indication to some bushes beside the now unused kyunru shelter. Her heart fluttered a bit in sadness at its abandonment even as she glanced imploringly at Aiden. With a knowing smile he nodded that he would keep watch over the youngster while she fetched the cup. Unfastening the makeshift seat belt, Trelweny left Theron to Aiden's care.
A proud smile was slowly lifting the edges of her mouth by the time she reached the green & blue handled sippy. "How do you throw so far, little man? Practicing for quarterback or perhaps baseba..a.all?" Reaching for the cup something else green & blue caught her eye. It shone softly in the flickering light filtering through the bush covering it, flecks of gold barely able to be ascertained. Idly she picked up the cup & tucked a handle into the top of her skirt to hold it. Her eyes never left the egg, nestled against the wall of the shelter all but hidden by the protecting bush. Carefully, Trelweny slipped her fingers around it & lifted the egg into the sunshine. "Oh my..." She breathed in wonder. Eyes wide she carried it back to the wagon.
Kiran was leading Theron in a merry chase of 'catch the persekitty' while Tien -having given up its search for the moment- rode Kiran like a pony. Aiden glanced up from watching them, brow arching curiously. "What have ye found, lassie?"
"I think... I think it's a kyunru egg." Trelweny breathed at last, wonder in her voice. "I never thought I'd see another. Someone must have left it here to be found... but everyone's been gone. First from here, then from the Sabilasi Village tree." She was starting to ramble in her incedulous state, but still managed to glance away from the egg long enough to check on Theron & her other 'children'. Lightly Trelweny ran her finger along one of the thin bands of gold. "I think this is a rune... this egg has been runed."
With reverence Trelweny rearranged some of Theron's blankets in the wagon into a nest in which she set the egg. "We'll take care of it. I'm not sure how we'll handle its delicate hatching... maybe Myranda & Grundle will be able to help."
