Kakashi inwardly cheered as Iruka spoke. He picked up his copy of the book, proceeding to get lost in it yet again.
Naruto felt himself jerk backwards as Sasuke stopped to look back, and in less than a second he found himself on the ground. "Oww," he groaned, rubbing his head.

Iruka took one more look up at Kakashi, trying to fight a smile. 'No... I am angry with him and upset that I gave in. No smileing.' he told himself, though he was never good at hiding his emotions, and a small smile formed on his face. Before Kakashi could notice, he looked back down, at his work he was doing, taking another sup of his coffe as well.
Sasuke looked down to the ground, noticing Naruto had fallen over. He hand had been released from Naruto's right before he fell, so Sasuke was still standing. He looked down, letting out a aggrivated sigh. "Graceful." he said, looking around, and than putting out a hand towards Naruto to help him up... though he refused eye contact.

Kakashi was like a little puppy given a whole meal after being starved for a week. If he thought about it, that was probably the longest time he had been sitting down without having Icha Icha in front of his face. He turned another page, glancing up at Iruka. He could have sworn he'd seen the ghost of a smile on the man's face. Then again, he was furious moments before, so it was probably his mind playing tricks on him.
"Hmph." Naruto took Sasuke's hand and pulled himself up, looking away as well. He seemed to have forgotten about the race as he felt a weird emotion surge through him. "Whatever."

Iruka had somehow managed in a matter of minutes to finish off his second cup of coffee, lookinh sadly into the empty cup, he looked loningly to the coffee machine. '... Okay, one more and than I am cutting myself off.' he said to himself, putting the folder aside one more time, and making his way to the coffee machine.
Sasuke looked to Naruto finally, now looking him in the eye again. "So, why did you take me out here in the first place, dobe." he asked, still having no idea what Naruto had planned.

Kakashi continued to watch Iruka. "Too much caffeine is bad for you, Iruka-san," he said, bringing his eyes back down to his book.
Naruto snapped back into reality. "Oh, that's right!" he said, grabbing Sasuke by the wrist. "We're going to have a race! Whoever gets from the front door to the gym first wins!" He led him outside, though this time a bit slower so there wouldn't be a repeat of him falling.

wolf-hime Sasri eyes widened slightly as his blush grew. Not commenting on the blonde's comment Sasori sat there trying to avert his gaze from the other and tame his blush at the same time. Unconsiously (uh huh, right Sasori, right >>) the red head had leaned into Deidara's hand, the one that had turned Sasori's head to look at it's owner. Sasori seemed to relax slightly for who-knows-why. Before his knowing, Deidara's thumb rubbed Sasori's cheek gently. He was calmer then he'd been all morning, now, and when he was calm, it was like he was a different person. He looked into the eyes that were trying to look away... and, for some strange reason, that upset him a bit. "Why are you looking away, un...?" he asked quietly, the thumb still doing it's rubbing against the soft skin of the other male's cheek.

Iruka turned around, looking to Kakashi. "But.... it calms my nerves. And I am cutting myself off after this." he said, now going back to filling up his cup. "It is the only thing that helps me feel awake and relaxed." he added in, finally filling the cup, and taking a sip.
Sasuke followed along behind Naruto, ignoreing the looks they were getting from people. "A... race? Why the hell are we racing? That was the last thing we tired and I beat you by a lap." he said, not resisting anymore though. "But fine. A race it is." 'I doubt he even remembers where the gym is.'

Kakashi just shrugged and continued to read Icha Icha. I could think of better ways, he thought, but decided not to say anything out loud. He didn't need to be killed so early in the day.
Naruto decided to ignore Sasuke's comment. When they reached the front of the school, he let go of the boy's arm. "Okay, ready? GO!" he yelled, breaking into a sprint.

Iruka made his way back to the couch now, once more... opening the folder. And with just his luck, it was another compleatly illegible paper. He squinted his eyes, trying to figure out if one number was a 4 or a 11, now compleatly absorved in his work. He scratched the bridge of his nose, out of habit. 'If it is a 4 they are right... but I don't know. It might be a 11 and they would be wrong...' he thought, looking genuinely confused.
Sasuke took off right away, pacing himself slightly, yet still keeping up his speed. As usual, Naruto took off in a full out sprint first. Sasuke was a short distance behind him, and intended to stay there until he saw the doors. Than he could easily catch up and beat Naruto.

Sasori was beyond the point of possibly controling his blush. Sasori bit his lip in a descret manner. "Well... um...I'm not it's just..." Sasori tried to add some backup to his comment by looking Deidara in the eye. Bad idea. Now the red head's green eyes couldn't part from Deidara's azure ones. If Sasori had been standing, his knees probably would have gone out on him. The other male was acting differently than normal but it seemed natural.

"Just mark it wrong," Kakashi suddenly said, guessing that Iruka was stuck with the handwriting situation. "It's their fault that they can't write."
Naruto kept running on a short burst of energy, until it slowly died out. Dammit! So close! he scolded himself as the gym came into view. He was already starting to lag behind.

Deidara gave a bit of a smile when Sasori looked him in the eyes, and then his goofy grin returned. "Just what, hnn? You know, you're cute when you blush, un..." He murmered, giving a slow, almost lazy, blink as he gazed into the other male's green orbs. He'd never expected this morning to go this way, but... it seemed almost perfact, like it was the best morning he'd ever had in his entire life. Full of unexpected discoveries.

Iruka looked up at Kakashi, frowning. "Some studnets cannot help it if their handwriting is messy... I don't want to mark something wrong if it is correct. That wouldn't be fair to the student." he said. He knew that he would always be faced with handwriting problems, and he could not just mark everything on the paper wrong. Just the mere thought of the sad look on a child's face when they found out they had a correct answer marked wrong turned that frown into a kind of a pout.
Sasuke took this as his moment to pick up the pace, and as he guessed, easily passed Naruto. he was not out of breathe at all, and still had a lot more energy, so made a mad sprint for the door now, and leaving NAruto behind.

Kakashi shrugged again. "Your class." Was Iruka... pouting? He could not help but to grin at the sight.
Naruto groaned as he saw Sasuke reach the gym before him. Fighting for breath, he jogged up as fast as he could. "N-no fair, teme..."

Iruka looked at Kakashi for one more moment, swearing that the man was grinning at him from under that mask. It was hard to tell with that thing on. Mabye that was the reason why Kakashi put it there in the first place. He instead of marking it right or wrong, but a big question mark on the paper and wrote a small note about the importance of neat handwriting, than taking a sip of his coffee, looking the paper over, happy with his choice. He now had a small smile on his face, relaxed and at ease.
Sasuke just shrugged and said "You are the one who challanged me dobe, to a contest you always loose at none the less." and looked around. "You need a better strategy... or become a better runner."
