Ruby walked back into the HQ, having passed by the front guards with her usual smile, and a little bit of small talk with guard number 17, who was kinda cute, and he was also from the Alabama area, so Ruby kinda felt a kinship with the fellow southern. She stopped a the sight of AC, Aly, and the sleeping Merlin. She put her bag down, walked over and nudged the old wizard, to see if he would fall over, then turned back to Aly and AC to be of actual assistance.

"You gals comin' to help out?" She asked with a friendly grin. She held out her hand, "Ruby St. Claire, not exactly a leader of the establishment or anythin', but I do have my influences. We'll just have to take you through the usual scans, which include stuff like they do at the airport to check for bombs an' the like, and also a bit of a magic scan to check for ill-intent, or somethin' nasty on the lines of a real' bad spell. But don't you worry, it ain't anythin' that'll hurt, or anythin' that'll be an invasion of your private thoughts. 'f course, we've had spies before, but anythin' that'd be of damage to our cause is well protected by security in the restricted areas. Most normal recruits don't getta go down there. The only way to do so is to work your way up in the army, or sleep with one of the leaders." She picked her bag back up. "Now if you gals are satisfied, you can follow me through the scannin' area, get yourselves checked up, then you can pick out your rooms. An' after that I can take the lot of us down to the kitchen an' we can test you there too, cause we all know that evil folk don't like brownies."

((The twins is a reference to an old joke about the big breasted Villainess stereotype that kinda got stuck on Erica back when she was Sufferance. xd

And yeah, One of Erica's passive powers is a natural block to mind altering magics, and glamour would probably fall into that category. But AC probably would see through Erica's stealth for the same reasons.))

((I was always embarrassed to draw really large evident pictures of the twins, so all pictures of Erica were highly toned down....I also haven't done a current pic of E in quite a while, hmmm. But no, they weren't insanely big, but it was an amusing continous joke back from early early days. And it was something that caused a decent amount of contention between Ruby and Erica, although Ruby may have only admitted her slight frustration on the matter to Arch.))

"Ah, Ruby, good." Merlin said, opening his eyes and standing upright again. "Good to see you've made it back unha... what is that?" Merlin leaned in, peering at her shoulder. "Where did you get that bite?" He said, his voice much more serious.

"Merlin, git yer a** over here and take a peek at this damned frog!" Alloran hollered at the old man, holding the frog by one of it's legs in the air. "Damned thing tried to bite me!"

"Yes, sugar, brownies." Ruby nodded, and she had to think a moment on the last question before deciding how to answer, "Well, I suppose I ain't all serious, but I ain't all jokin' either." She smiled, "I suppose you'll just have to find out."

"The hell do you think? The thing tried to bite me, that's fer damn sure!" Alloran yelled as he came up to them, his sword now blazing properly as he carried it in his opposite hand.

"Hmm, yes, there's something about this frog. It's not natural, but magically imbued somehow. And not in the nature of Pure Energy, either, but more arcane..." Merlin said, leaning close to the frog. "Did this animal bite you, Ruby?"
