Sengem I am a polythiest(multi gods) I believe in eight gods water, fire, earth, air, unseen, chaos, peace, Life That's interesting. Do you see these gods as abstract concepts, distinct individuals, or something else?

Raised in a 'Seventh Day Adventist' home, went to church every week, attended an Interdenominational school from K-10, and attempted apologetics for a good two years before I came across questions that I just couldn't answer in any satisfying way no matter which way I turned them. I had an interest in 'Theravada Buddhism' for a bit, but after reading some books of neuroscience and psychology, decided that I after all simply preferred the natural explanations to any supernatural ones.
I believe religions have a lot of wisdom that can be extracted, and so I read about religions just to see if there is anything in there that makes sense to me. I usually check the stuff that makes sense to me with psychology, and often I find that some of the scriptural authors were thousands of years ahead of psychology and the neurosciences. Of course there is some stuff in the scriptures that I flat out disagree with.
I am a Secular Humanist.

Hi, I've been a member here for quite some time now and I never quite posted here....lol how rude of me domokun
Anyway, let's get on shall we? razz Quite simply put I am an eclectic (sp?) Pagan. I do perform witchcraft, but I am not by any means Wiccan or Neo Pagan or whatever you call it. I just take what feels right for me and use it in my spiritual enhancement. I don't think witchcraft and Wicca ARE one and the same. Yet that's my personal belief. I am also interested in Buddism, Shaminism, Egyptian Magic, Norse Tradition (Asatru), Satanism, Gnosticism and Valentinian Tradition. The latter is, however, kinda biased because my surname is Valentine razz

Hmmm..... no, nothing comes up at the moment. But just as sort of an example, Buddhist scripture long maintained that thought and emotion were not seperable, while probably starting with Aristotle's theory, emotion and thoughts were somehow seperate. Neuroscience would now theorize that thoughts and emotions are indeed interlinked. You could also try reading a book called 'The Pursuit Of Happiness', the author is Christian or has a Christian background, and he cites a lot of Biblical verses that are supported by psychology.

I am a Baptist Christian with many beliefs on many topics. I will stick to my religion no matter what, but I am also very interested in learning about others. It is completely fascinating for me to learn about a religion I'd never heard of or that I'd heard of, but got shown it in a different light. Religion to me, is a very fragile topic that needs to be treaded upon with caution, but should be free to discussion. So, anybody with comments or questions about anything, feel free. I would appreciate it completely. In fact, I look forward to it! 3nodding

With that said, the red text should be corrected so as to read as follows: eclectic pagan. I do perform witchcraft,...

I was baptized Anglican (Episcopalian) as a baby, but I never even knew what that was until later on last year. I labeled myself Atheist growing up. I became interested in Paganism and Taoism, but quickly realized they weren't for me.
I found myself reflected in The Satanic Bible a year ago. I've called myself a proud LaVeyan Satanist ever since.
