The art is the story and the story is the art. Although I will say that, if the artwork isn't good, I probably won't read it.

Story, art can be suffered through, but even a really pretty picture (well, multiples) can be fall flat after awhile. If its not translated, then I don't care what a crummy storyline it is, well, you can kind of tell just by looking at the pictures. But then you are not committing to reading it. Just browsing.

the story is it for me! don't get me wrong, I love good art and hot yaoi scenes but if the story is not consistant then I instantly put the book down and stop reading. cause without a good story you're just looking at the pictures like a perv and that does not take long.

Both matter to me unless the story is supposed to be nothing but porn. Than the art better be EXTRA pretty.

For one shots it's the art that's important to me. For a series, as long as the art doesn't make me cringe the story is the deciding factor. But as others have said, if something is PWP it better have some epic art.

Really bad art immediately turns me off. If it's good, I'll keep reading, but if the storyline is s**t, then I burn the book. i.e: Character A meets Character B. They have sex. Character A meets Character B again. They have sex.

Very tough question :O In general I find if the art isn't absolutely awful then I'll read it as long as I find the story interesting. If the story is bad/uninteresting though, the art has to be amazing if I'm gonna read it. Story is a big thing for me with yaoi >.>;

Tough question, but I have to go with both. I have to have both in order to fully enjoy the manga. I mean I've read plenty of yaoi that had no story and had gorgeous art, but I really like a story in the yaoi.

I'd have to go with both. Though I'd say story is a li'l more favored in my opinion. If a story sucks, no matter how gorgous/perfect the art is I won't like it. I've found myself reading stories where I don't care for the art but I've read due to good plot. n_n

I's have to say both story and art. I can't say I won't put down a book if the art isn;t what I want it to be, but I'm picky. Really, really picky with my choices. However, if I'm recommended it, I guess I'd have no choice but to try it out. :] But anyways, I haven't reallycome across any yaoi that I'd haveput down because ofeither the story or art.
