Pulling Kaleb back he flipped a switch on the cage and one side slid down. The creature only took a moment to lope from the cage and around to the back of the room in a puddle of shadow on the floor.
"Keep an eye on it or it will surprise you"

Kaleb nodded, holding back his fright by sheer force of will. He let a large amount of magical energy flow through him as he watched the creeping shadow, so he could be ready to channel a defense at any time. Okay, he had to admit that with the amount of energy he was holding onto, he probably could have stopped a transport truck running at top speed.

He tapped the e-mag against his temple while he waited for the thing to make a move. "Think your shields can hold it?"

Kaleb bit his lower lip as he thought about it. "I-I think so, but I don't know how hard it attacks." His eyes left the monster's shadow for only a split second. "Did you want me to try containing it, or just keep it from hitting us?"

"If you can get a shield around it once it comes up and before it hits the ground again that would be nifty." He smirked before heading across the room to the think.

Kaleb nodded, but unlike Reno he was content to keep a safe distance away from the creature. Except the room was really large, and he found himself getting more creeped out the further away Reno got from him. With a nervous frown he forced himself to stay right where he was.

Useing the lightning Materia he sent a bolt of it across the floor and waited for the thing to react. It didn't take long for the creature to appear from the floor and for it to jump at the Turk.

Kaleb didn't expect the creature to lunge as quick as it did, and he probably would have yelped if his heart didn't feel like it had just leapt up into his throat. He let all the energy he had been holding take form, quickly weaving into a solid, glass-like bubble surrounding the beast. Hopefully since he had caught it in midair, it would have a hard time condensing back into shadows with no real surface to cling to.

It couldn't condense with the shield around it. Snarling the creature banged at the shield trying to get at Reno.
"That's a good one .... if these ******** weren't on our side it'd be useful out there" Then again the Creepers weren't really on their side they just happened to be locked away in the Labs.

Kaleb smiled weakly. He was glad for the praise, but the thing was still terrifying in it's ferocity even though it was safely contained for the moment. "What did you want me to do with it?" He asked, distracting himself from his fright by trying to think of a way to trap the creature without needing it to solidify first.

"Can you make the shield hold onto it but keep it's head out?" IF Kaleb could do that he could jam his e-mag in the things head and get rid of it.

"I can try," Kaleb said, already attempting to manipulate the shield. It was difficult because the creature was violent and squirmy, but he was able to loop a lasso shaped tendril around the beast's neck and use that as a means to control it. With the head held still, the shield retracted until only the thing's body thrashed around inside the bubble.

"Ya know ... never tell Rufus you can do that." He laughed as he walked over to the thing. "Poor kitty." Flipping his grip on the e-mag he jammed the thing into the creatures head. One flip of the switch and the creature dissolved into a well nothing.

"Why not?" Kaleb asked innocently, frowning a bit before his eyes went wide. He couldn't help but gape, he hadn't ever seen anything just vanish like that. "I-is it dead?" He squeaked, feeling just a little faint.

"You ...how ..... nevermind." Kaleb was just too innocent for Reno to fathom some days. How could that not compute? Kaleb knew Rufus was a kinky b*****d and it was blatantly obvious why not to let Rufus know you could do that.
