Professor E. Gadd Yo-It--=Shad=- Professor E. Gadd Anyone ever heard of an anime called "Idaten Jump" or something like that? About this kid who mountain bikes and gets sucked into another world where they race their mountain bikes to get back home? 'twas weird looking if you ask me, like another Beyblade or Yu-Gi-Oh. Since you mentioned Yu-Gi-Oh... I don't like it. Well, it just seems like one of those elementary school fads, or soon to be. hey! I heard of that! never watched it though...

Hmm
Well, it's set in an alternate late 1920's Japan, where steam power is commonplace, and demons are invading Tokyo as a first step to taking over the world.
The only thing stopping them is the Teikoku Kagekidan—Hanagumi (aka Imperial Floral Assault Force - Flower Division), a group of psychically gifted women from around the world piloting experimental steam powered mecha.
Well, and a similarly gifted naval officer. Ichiro Ogami, star cadet of the Japanese military, who gets transferred to the flower division. It's an interesting series that grew out of a popular strategy RPG/Date sim in Japan.

Hmm. I was considering trying my hand at running a Sakura Taisen RPG here, but it'd take a good knowledge of the background material.
Ah well. There are other ideas to be found.

Saber-Writer Is anyone familiar with the show Sakura Taisen aka Sakura Wars? Either the anime, manga, or game version? oooh! the game! I think I saw a preview type thing for it, but isn't it only out in Japan? or maybe I'm thinking about a whole different thing...wait is there a girl with like blue braids in it?

No, at least not to my recall.
