"It's strawberry red." Saraneth replied, "I'm sure you'll know when he smiles. Sometimes, you just feel it-- Wah! The kitty talks just like my pony back at home! It's nice to meet you, Hirohiro!" She giggled. Nicknames again. The last time, she had called Rivera and Kira 'Ri' and 'Ki'. Then there was Shinku the Hawkboy and Kai the ... Ossie, whatever that was. It was just this time, the nickname ended up longer than the real name, which was a little strange. She extended her index finger thumb to shake Hiro's paw.

Hitomi giggled in reply to Kestrel's statement about 'feeling it'. "Your right, I wish I could see it. I feel so bad though, because Shinku has to deal with a blind wife." she sighed, figuriong that Shinku has to go away. This thouyght saddened her immensly, but she managed to smile, sklightly masking the sadness in her eyes.
Hiro almost shook Kestrel's fingers, but instead, he moved so that he could put his paws over her eyes. That's how he always said hello when he was in his kitty form. Oh, how he loved getting attention, so he took advantage of these very rare moments. He figured that his nickname was HiroHiro now, but he didn't mind. He did wonder, however, when Kestrel would find out he was a hybrid?
Hitomi let out a short sigh, tilting her head so it would seem that she was looking at her hands, which where folded neatly in her lap. "So... Kestrel? will Shinku have to... go away again?" A very childish question, but she wanted to know. "And... what is this orginization-like thing I keep hearing metioned? He hasn't told me about... anything." Of course, it hurt not knowing, and being hidden away from the truth.

"So he didn't tell you..." Saraneth believed in not hiding things from people. Because everyone should see with their eyes wide open... speaking of eyes. "Hirohiro, um... could you please stop that?" She giggled again and removed the kitty, cradling him gently in her arms and kissing the spot between his ears. "I always wanted a kitty." She looked back up at Hitomi. "Shinku might be gone for a while... but I promise that he'll be back. He's too stubborn to die." She laughed softly, "Shinku is the Ravenhawk... one of the most powerful assassins of the Birds of Prey alliance. I am part of the alliance as well as the Gyrfalcon, the Silverwing, Osprey and Crane and Sparrow, out newest addition. But assassin alliances are like gangs. We're being hunted by another alliance called the Constellations. They're want the customers that we get, so they're killing us to prove that one: They're better, and two: there's less of us to take their jobs." Saraneth sighed. "You know... it's ironic that your name would be Hitomi... to be blind and be named 'Eyes'. You must be able to see something that we cannot..."

Hitomi sighed, listening carefully. Birds of Prey? It made more sense than it did before, for sure. But everone was using codename, and she knew no one's real name except for Shinku. "I see..." she sighed uncomfortably, feeling that she may cry, though she tried her hardest not to.
Hiro listened sadly to Kestrel's entire explanation, but enjoyed the kiss on his head. He purred, just ot express his happiness, even though it was a sad moment. "I hope he dosn't die, then. Mi-chan wouldn't forgive herself if he died..."
Hitomi also heard the comment about her name, giving a small sigh once more, she responded, "Yeah... it is pretty ironic... I wasn't born this way, though. I just... lost it on the journey of life."

Saraneth smiled. "Hitomi... if you want, I can give you your sight back. It'll be a different sort of sight, but it will let you see similarly to when you used to be able to." Saraneth had a knack with white necromancy as well as life infusion and object manipulation. Basically, white necromancy IS life inffusion, but what she was about to do was not instilling life... it was a combination of necromancy and object manipulation as well as a form of telepathy and psychological repair. It would be difficult, but she was sure she could pull it off. It had been done before.... she knew exactly what to do. But it all depended on the case under which Hitomi lost her sight. "But you'll have to tell me how you lost your sight."

Hitomi gasped, covering her mouth quickly. "Y-You could do that?! I would be ever so greatful!" She exclaimed, bowing her head. "I don't know how I could repay you, though. I'm unemployed, so I couldn't pay you anything... and I don't hav any precious items besides my ring..." Hitomi didn't know what she could give Kestrel. She didn't want to give up her ring for her sight... though she told Kestrel about how she lost her sight.
"Well... when I was just a little girl, my mother was becoming very ill, and could no longer leave our house, let alone her bed. She soon suffered from paralysis, so she was practicly a human vegetable. I was told by an old wiseman that if I wanted to save my mother, I would have to sacrafice something very precious. Of course, I was only around 4, so Io had to think hard, untill I figured I'd get rid of my sight... the price was higher than I thought, though. My mother had died during the process of me giving up my sight, and because she died, my sight would be lost forever, because I would have had it back after my mother died..." She explained calmly to Kestrel.
"That's the jist of it..." She sighed, thinking once more about her mother. This was the third time she had ever explained the story to anyone... It made her pretty sad that she couldn't save her mom...

"Ah... that makes my job a little bit simpler." Kestrel smiled. "I thought I had to go through a complicated spellwork with your sanity at stake, but now I guess I don't have to." She explained. "You see... this would mean that your mother died around the same time your sight did. By instinct, she should've recognized you on your sight, and would've held on to it. All I have to do is bring your mother back temporarily. But to do that, I have to know where her grave is, if she has one. If she doesn't, I'll use a different medium, but it's always nice to use a personalized medium since it's more powerful." She replied chipperly.

Shinku walked in when he heard Kestrel's suggestion about returning Hitomi's sight and that they would have to go to Hitomi's mother's grave. "I don't think Hitomi would want you to bring her mother back, only to suffer the pain of losing her again..." He said quietly as he sat by Hitomi.

Hitomi froze, covering her eyes with her hands. Not that image again... no.... she couldn't take it! Her hands quickly moved to the side of her head, a painful throbbing appearing from nowhere. Of course... and image of the dead is something that no one could forget. "I-I'm sorry Kestrel... but I can't..." She softly said, a small tear rolling down her face as her eyes were squeezed shut.
"Hitomi can't go back, Kestrel... she blames herself for her mother's death, and has an uncontrolable fear of the dead." Hiro explained, still in Kitty form and still using his childish voice. "She can't help it. Sometimes, I think she can hear them, but i'm not sure."

"Kestrel... See what I mean? You've upset her..." Shinku said quietly and put his arms around Hitomi, trying to comfort her. "But... Hitomi, are you afraid of using a different medium? Also Kestrel, what options are there for a different medium?" He asked quietly, continuing to hold Hitomi gently in his arms.

(They're amber-gold ^_^ Shiny, you should know that! You're the first pereson to see that Saraneth picture xd )
Sara sighed. "Then fine...Don't bother with mediums. I was just going to use a gravestone. Other mediums won't be any different, it'll be just as hard for her to face. I'll do it the down-to-earth complex way and grundge the work out... Please don't cry, I'm sorry... I didn't think it would bother you..." She wouldn't think that. Kestrel was a person bound by the world's most temporary love. The person that she loved most in her life was her father. She would do anything to protect him... but the moment he dies, she would not longer care. She would not mourn for him and she would not care about his body. To Saraneth, the only things that mattered were the things still living. The only person she ever mourned for was Rivera, but that was only because she wasn't prepared for her death. Rivera, to her, was as immortal as the word 'existence'. She didn't think that Rivera could die at all... so when she came back, Sara just pretended that it was just all a really bad joke and went on as if nothing happened. "Argh... I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do because I might just freak you out again, but if Hawkboy can watch for interferences, I'll be glad to do it here and now. It'll take a while, but there's no traveling involved.
