Honestly, I think I can land a good job without tweaking my looks. For heaven's sake, I'm going to Ateneo de Manila university next year and the US equivalent of that is harvard. Yep, it's Ivy League... Anyway, the rich husband is needed. I can't have someone broke managing my family. I'd get disowned.

Guh... I guess that's something that simply couldn't be understood in the US, the rich husband thing, right? I imagine that with the kind of university you're going to you won't have much difficulty in getting whatever job you want, though once again I don't know much about how cultural differences affect it.
Since I don't understand enough of it to solve problems via logic, my best course of action is to just pray and hope God sorts everything out for the better.

I think everyone's mistook me from coming from the Phillipines. ^^; But I always tell them where my parents were born.

Yeah, it's hard to tell Southeast Asian people apart. We all pretty much look the same. xp

Yeah, but we Americans probably can't tell your accents apart either. You can often tell an American from a European, Canadian, or Australian by manner of speech and accent, at least in the extreme cases. I don't know that a lot of people can tell the difference between a couple German-like languages.

And soo I should have more of an Australian accent than my ethnic accent. o.o;

I have my Filipino accent. Dunno how exactly to describe it to you though. When I talk fast, it really comes out. For example, "I like to drive," might come out as, "I like to drayb." Yep, the whole v becomes b syndrome. But my accent isn't really that obvious. 3nodding

Well, English is more prevalent in the Philippines than it is in a lot of countries in that part of the world, isn't it? At least that's the impression I've gotten.

For a south asian country, you guys do a lot of things that seem more spanish than asian (accents, names). sweatdrop

Aona: Yeah it is. They teach it at most schools. 3nodding
Sailor: Well, we were a Spanish colony for 300 years. Then the Americans took over. Then the Japanese... Then freedom. So yeah, that would explain the multitude of Spanish influences and why we're the only pre-dominantly Catholic country in Asia.

I wasn't exactly sure of the history of the area, but I always thought you guys seemed more spanish than asian. sweatdrop I knew a few people in high school that came from the Phillipines. (this is Sailor, btw, on one of her RP mules...)
