No one did offer to have Rayinte hold Valar. Tolara glanced at the hat distractedly for a moment before turning her attention back to the Junior Weyrwoman.
"Rayinte, this is Ipsen MasterHarper. MasterHarper, this is Rayinte, Junior Weyrwoman rider of gold Wrath."
Remind me to thank her later.
.....
I'll remind myself.. ><
((I think we've milked this to the max... So I'd say we'll close the gather in three days. Anyone who thinks they can't wrap it up by then PM NPC))

He had kept pretty coherent, for better or worse he couldn't say, so he decieded a walk might help them both. "Sure..." He got to his feet. He was a little shakey but mostly upright. Arthas took to his shoulder carefully, recognizing the signs that a smooth trip wasn't going to happen. He held his arm out to hopefully help her stay upright since she probably needed it, how he was going to help in the state he was in he was unsure...

((*pokes* better hurry up and say what you're going to say))
Selene managed to walk alright by herself, occasionally reaching out a hand for his arm to steady her shakiness. Even with her intoxicated mind she could sense the night winding down. Most of the booth keepers had already closed up and headed off to the square to catch the last of the dancing. She looked up and saw that it was a clear night.

((Well I hurry it along, and give him some courage))
He new he would have to get back. He needed to...
"Selene, I'm going to leave..." He didn't know he said it till it was out. He wondered if he was really that drunk. Then he thought if that was what he meant. "I'm not going back to the Hall..." There that sounds better...wait why did I...too late now...

A deep note struck her heart, and she reeled suddenly; the imbalance was more than the wine. She didn't look at him, her eyes hidden behind their own curtains. The music of the square was distant sounding, and it sounded artificial.
Leaving. She didn't know what to think...or even what to say. She just stood dumbly. She couldn't bring herself to look at him.

Akai laughed and then cheared a bit seeing him give her the eggpot. She grinned delighted then headed back towards the spot where the cook had set up. She wouldn't be to later from her break.
"Well at least he's honest in his game, even if he didn't like it" she said laughing

Ipsen stood to greet the other woman a gracious smile on his face. He attempted small talk and asked about the Benden Weyr and repairs that could be made, if he could do anything to help. "I'm pleased, to be sure, it is an honor to meet you both in fact." He stated seeing the gather of students starting towards the preformance area, a journeyman leading them in a large, grand procession. "Oh look, seems that they are calling for the Gather crowd to gather for the feast. Seems we've still got a few minutes before we can make a suitablly dramatic entrace. Or rather," He smiled, "I think the two beautiful young queen riders will make a suitibly dramatic entrace to which I can only follow and aspire to be worthy of. To be sure, your company, however short it has been has lightened my recent days with a more hopeful light." He grinned again. "And, if I may, I'd love to see more of you. You are welcome at the Hall anytime you might desire to come. I am completely at your disposal." He bowed to them. "I do hate to rush off, but I must say hello the the Lord and Lady again and makeway to oversee my debacle in the making. I bid you farewell for now, I shall see you soon and we can make merry and continue our talk at the table... or perhaps after, to many angry ears aboud." He bowed again springing up with a smile and quickly stepped off hoping that he wasn't seeming too rude. He hurried over the pay his respects the the Lord Holders and make sure his students weren't booed off the stage... or at the worst attacked.

Akai skidded to a stop at the kitchen, and quickly started to help make the dishes to be set out as everyone was gathering for the feast. Cups were given last wipings, plates were check for being clean, food sampled by the cook and given his approvle. Akai was stationed out inside the croud it's self to make sure that everything was given out propely. She was a drudge, but she was a smart one. She directed the other drudge where the Klah needed to be refilled, where a plate of roasted wherry was being emptied, while also refilling and restacking wherry herself. She saw Daniel and Selen off to the side but didn't have a chance to say hello. Kpi chirruped in her ear as she hurried around with the drudges
"Later Kopi.. you'll have to go find a nice spot to rest.. go on then" she said and kissed his nose gently since her hands were full.
"I'll see you later and perhaps we'll give that man a meal for being honest in his game. I'm sure he'd appreciate it." she said with a small chuckle wishing she could have congradulated the girl who'd won the egg pot. Kopi chirped agin then took off. Akai wanted to see the girl.. he'd find her.

It took him a while to figure out it was quite. Then another to realize something was wrong. After much comsideration, he then wanted to find some more wine so he could get drunk enough to forget this whole thing.
"I came to harper hall to sing and improve my skills. I've done both and I need to move on...in more ways then one." Something was tugging at the back of his mind and the more he tried to figure it out the harder it was to find it. Damn wine...

Say something, she thought. But her feelings refused to be put into words. More emotions than she thought she should be having began to surface, and the looming prospect of him leaving...forever...opened up an emptiness that she never knew was there. "I..." she whispered. "Daniel..."

"I just..." The silence was unnerving. He wasn't sure if it was good or bad. But she still mattered to him and he didn't want her to feel bad because of him. "Please Selene...say something..." He was scared for what he might have done to her. He didn't care if she hated him at this point, he just wanted to hear what she said. It looked like she was taking this as hard as he was. Damn wine...

Ray nods at the Masterharper a bit warily, but he seems fairly friendly so she takes a moment to talk to him.
She manages semi-coherent replies to his inquiries about Benden Weyr, trying to shift the topic to the current reputation Weyrs have among the holds, and how she thought the Harpers might be able to help with that. But the man is such a fast, smooth talker that she can hardly put a word in edgewise.
Before she could bring up the matter, he makes his excuses and his getaway, but amid all of his empty flattery and fancy way of speaking, he leaves her an opening to pay him an unexpected visit. She crosses her arms under her chest and smiles a somewhat wicked little smile. As he leaves, Ray gives Tolara a sidelong glance, raising an eyebrow.
"Does he always do that?"

She didn't even know what she was doing until she did it; suddenly she realized she was kissing him. She broke away, turned, and started to walk away, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand as she went. "Do whatever you sharding well please," she choked out childishly. She meant for it to sound angry, but it just sounded like a little girl whining. She wanted to hate him. She wanted to slap him. She wanted to walk away and forget how empty she felt. Unfortunately, things were becoming a little fuzzy, and she just wobbled off in some vague direction trying desperately to muster up some dignity...
((*yawn* now, off to sleep...))

Tara_Nepion The man scowled and hastily grabbed one of the smaller pots. Rudely he shoved it across the table towards the girl. Sullenly he crossed his arms and leaned back, his face openly hostile. A delighted laugh excaped from her lips. So, she'd managed to win after all! Ignoring the size of the pot, she picked it up and grinned at the man as she began to leave. "Thank you!" she called cheerily as she walked off with her prize. Wandering down the row of stalls, she finally stopped in the shadow of one and lifted the lid of the eggpot. Seeing nothing but sand, she tucked the lid under her arm and, holding the pot in her right hand, used the left to move some of the sand aside... and there, underneath, she found the egg. For long moments she could only gaze at it in wonder. I wonder what color will it be? she thought. This is a rather smallish pot... but then again, it's not the size of the pot that counts. He may well have put the larger eggs in smaller pots, so that if anyone complained he'd have them waste another guess for a larger pot. Probably put green's eggs in the larger ones, and no one would know. She glanced back at the stall for a moment. He seemed just the type to pull a trick like that! Covering the egg with sand once more, she replaced the lid and went off in search of a cool drink.
