Me and some friends (all Heavy players) are thinking of entering a DDR tournament sometime in the near future. Since this is our first, I know we shouldn't be too eager to win 1st place, but to have fun (even though it would be nice).

My quesions are:
- Where can I find reliable info on upcoming tournaments near us?
Suggested website?
- What should we do to prepare ourselves? (Besides constant practice)

Thanks for everyone's time.

Well, there's a list of RedOctane sponsored tournaments here: http://www.redoctane.com/ddrcenter.html

And sometimes, there are smaller local tournaments announced in the forums here: http://www.ddrfreak.com/

^__^ Hope that helps!

Thank you! I really think that most DDR fans would actually check it under a search engine but that does help a lot.

Does jumping on the freeze arrows increase your points? You know, where you lift your foot off for a microsecond and the arrow flashes some, but get it back on and still get an OK,

My BNS pad said it had a 300 lbs weight support, so quite a bit. As for in the Arcade, well, from the amount of harshness I've seen people stomp on them they must be able to stand alot.

So I'd say your probably fine.

Ahhh, ok. There seems more skill would be involved in the jumping. Oh well.

Thanks for the answer!!!

if your lucky you can find an older version of ddr at any used game store, babbages, gamestop, EB games, Game Cage lol those places usually get one once in a while but what you might do is ask them to keep tabs on any they might get and tell ya when they have it. otherwise you may have to resort to asking a parent or friends parent to buy off ebay or internet lol they'll usually do it if ya give em the money so Good Luck! wink
