Makadari kept circling her, watching her intently. Her eyes never once followed him; she stood at attention while she answered his question as only a member of the Blood would. Any other lioness would have followed his pacing nervously; would have stuttered or halted while speaking. This lioness didn't, she kept up her proud stance and yet never once acted like she was greater than him.

Makadari let the silence draw out before speaking. You will be watched, Kinja. Know that. Know that if you even once step out of line or reveal yourself to be other than who you have said you are, I will personally deal with you myself.

His pacing halted and he stood before her, looking down at her and waiting for any responce.

((i'm just editing my previos post o_O;; I don't think i was supposed to inturupt << oopseh))

the little cub had made quite some ground, and he managed just to stay out of the vultures reach by sheer luck. Everytime she swooped for him he would panic and stumble or fall to the side making her miss. (woo) But he wouldn't last long, he was getting slower and his panting was slowing him down. Not to mention how fast his heart was pounding. He felt as if it could beat out of his chest at any moment.

The vulture glared, if they kept this up other vultures might be atrackted.. and that would mean a chance of loosing such a nice meal.

Yakuti shifted in her sleep, expecting in the back of her mind for her paws to hit that cub that resided in her den.. but instead her feet hit the den floor. She blinked curious opening one eye to see where he was.
She jumped to her paws in a Panic. "I told him not to go outside!" she hurried out the tunnel that lead to the sand covered terrain. She quickly tried to place a scent.. no luck. the wind had allready blown it everywhere.. She looked around, her mind racing for an idea of how to find him. Finally looking up she noticed a vulture following something.
Her little maturnal heart now raced with fear for her 'cub', that had to be him. She just hoped she got to him before the vulture did as she took off in that direction. Now a normal fennec fox would have given up the cub for dead and stayed in the den for their own saftey. Ofcourse.. normal fennec foxes also wouldn't have a lion cub calling them mom..

The cub suddenly stopped seeing the other cubs. His mom had warned him about being around other lions.. Said they would kill him. but.. they looked nice, and they were his age! and with that small bit of hope that he thought might be nice lions, like himself.. he was a nice lion.., they could help him.
He skittered into them with a mewl and fell over backwards. He tried to return to his paws panting hard enough he thought he might pass out.

Kimondo's eyes looked into Makadari's for a few seconds as he stopped to speak to her. As he finished she bowed her head to him. "Of course your majesty." She spoke clearly to him , making sure not to contact eyes again, Not sure if he would take that as a threat. A gentle breeze blew past and the scent of water was on it. As she shifter he gaze she could see a large oasis and would have made a mad dash for it if she didn't have to keep up appearances. She bid the king well before moving slowly towards where the water lay just teasing her with its cool, refreshing goodness. When she finally reached its banks she lowered her body and drank the liquid greedily, taking as much as she could possible take before laying down in the bit of lush grass.

Teule took a large bite of the meat after giving his mom a mild smile of reassurance. He only took one bite before more mewling was heard behind him. Him whipped around, eyes wide though one probably couldn't tell, Taka's face fell as she saw yet ANOTHER cub. Where were they all coming from?! Teule grinned at the other cub, not shy at all, and inched right in front of him, giving him a bright smile.

"Hiya! Who are you? I'm Teule! Man, their sure are alotta cubs out today, huh, Mom?"

Taka only bit her lip and stared wide eyed at the cub, her eyes twitching as se tried to wet her throat to speak.

the cub sank back.. name? er.. he thought for a moment. He hadn't been given an actual name yet.. mom normally called him cub, or greegygut...oh yea Wokovu!
He opened his little mouth to speak when the reason he had run into them in the first place showed up. "B-bird!" he stuttered out instead of his name holding up a shaky paw to point at the bird about to swoop in before attempting to hide under the animals carcass

Yakuti was still following the bird, her little paws carrying her across the dunes quickly, oh when she got to that cub he was getting a scolding of a lifetime...

Taka made no move to protect the little cub from the bird, assured that it wasn;'t going to attack them or anything of the like. Teule cocked his head aqnd squinted up into the sky, starting to growl and give some weakling roars at the mangy avian. When he was sure the bird wasn't going to cause any trouble he started giggling at 'Bird', peeking under the bloody gazelle. Taka gently scooted the cub out from under the animal and gave him a weak smile of reassurance.

"Your name's Bird? Is that you Ma up their then?"

Not bothering to put up a fight, the slave, now bleeding from the hind quarters as well as the forehead, slunk out of the den, staying low to the ground. Never bothering to lick his wounds, Kitwana merely cast a withering look at his flank, his right hip flecked with blood from three identical slash marks, small enough to let only a little of his red blood flow, but large enough to be seen at an easy glance.
Makadari's anger was getting worse. Usually the adolescent was merely cuffed, whereas today the king had twice gone for his blood. Much more of this, the scrawny young lion thought, and he'd be food for the buzzards.

The vulture stopped circling but making no more moves then regretfully leaving.
Yakutis heart raced at this.. what if soemthign else had gotten her child? All thoughts of the lecture she was goign to give him were now gone.

Wokovu crawled back over giving the other cub a confused look and plopping his rear down to sit. "No, my moms back in the den. She doesn't like to leave unless it nightfall.." he laughed a bit emberased cocking his head to the side "My names Wokovu!.. i think. Whats yours?" He grinned widely quite happy his hopes had been right.

((Word of Warning: I tried to read through what I missed, and I'm trying to bring Dama up to that point. If anything is slightly amiss, I apologize, because its hard to bring Dama up to date with past tense things...as well as try to explain why she disappeared. But I hope I make it flow with what's going on as best as I can. ^_^

And Naita, it didn't turn out as long as I'd planned it, because I edited quite a bit out that wouldn't quite fit...So, neh, but its a post none the less, and explains why she disappeared XD))

Dama whined softly. Raising her head from the dirt, she slowly got to her feet, unsure of which way to go now. Shortly after having begun following Kitwana in the search of the princess, she'd lost him, his color blending in with the grasses he'd wandered through. Therefore her wandering had brought her further away from the pride than she'd ever seemed to have been. In every direction she frantically looked, twisting this way and that, trying to see the pridal dens. But to no avail. The little juvenile couldn't place where she was. She called and called out Kitwana's name, hoping he'd hear her and save her, even if it did mean he'd scorn her for getting lost, and trying to get them beaten again. But there was no answer. No harshly gruff voice chastising her for having wandered off. She was alone, all alone....

But that was nearly a week ago. The hot sun and lack of food, and very little clean water was beginning to take its toll on the little lioness. Oasis' appeared where they shouldn't be, in her vision, and the hot dry air wavered the land, distorting it and making Dama dizzy. The heat dried her mouth and eyes, making it even worse to see, and hard to breathe.

Footstep by footstep, the little grey lioness's pawpads leaving little marks in the sand, only to disappear moments later at random puffs of hot wind, Dama continued to wander the Firekin lands. What were they going to do to her when she did finally make it back? Would they have forgotten about her and kill her on the spot, as she'd seen them do to other outsiders? Would they remember her, and beat her senseless, even to death, for running off? These questions mulled around in her already jumbled mind making her cry out frusterated at her own useless sense of direction.

Teule puffed his chest out pridefully while Taka nervously ate her meat and thought about the new cubs. That cub had a mom?! She's probably on her way here then! Taka shifted uncomfortably, looking alertly at their surroundings, surely another lion wouldn't be as nice as the last one they met.

"I'm Teule! And why does your mom only come out at night? That's kinda wierd."

Teule pushed his face into Wokovu's nose, giving him a suspicious look as if he were being interogated. Then he quickly pulled back laughing and rolled onto his back.

"Ya hungry?"

Mwezi couldn't sleep.

She had followed Jua's scent, cowardly waiting until she was certain her father and aunt had left. Even then, courage failed her, and she waited until a day had passed until finally going into the rocky outcropping where her sister's body lay.

She had stared coldly at the little object that had been the cause of it's mother's torment and pain. Jua had died because of this cub - and perhaps others, she's not sure. The scents are very confusing. The others seem to have been eaten, dragged off by other predators. And good riddance, too. Half-bloods, weaklings, lower than low; and the cause of Jua's death, the cubs were not something to be protected...they were something to be disposed of. They were to blame for her sister's death. They were the cause of her misery.

She had cried, then, too pent-up with emotion to do anything but curl in a ball, like a cub, and cry. When she stopped crying, a soft peace had settled over her. The sun dappled her coat beneath the small tree she had blindly sought shelter under at the outcropping. The air was humid; languid, easy, kind. It eased her spirit. There's always a calm after crying. And it led her to realize one thing.

Jua had
wanted these cubs.

If not for herself, they at least represented the defiance she had felt towards her elders. She had been strong enough - as Mwezi had not - to question their way of thinking. She had paid dearly for it.

Mwezi hadn't realized what she was doing, really, until she found herself scooping up the small cub - ironically, the only child in the litter to have the blood-red pelt of her mother's people - and running across the desert, a streak of red across the browns and golds.

And now here she was, lost. And on top of that, hungry. She'd never hunted for anything in her life; everything had always been brought to her. She was footsore and tired, and the cub was crying. She didn't know how to be a mother. She had stopped on the edge of Firekin territory, near a jungle, and now she stares blankly into it. She's never set foot outside the desert before. Night has fallen - again - and she doesn't know what to do. Anxiety made her, at first, pace up and down, but now she's too tired to do that. Outside anything of her experience, the princess wants more than ever to burst into tears or into a fine rage...only, there's nobody around to view it and feel sorry for her.

The cub, meanwhile, is becoming more and more noisy. It's hungry, and starting to get cold.

Hestia was feeling mightily pleased with herself. The cubs might have gotten away - but she has Kimondo now, a pawn of her own. Now it's the move of the Greater...and with Mau-ri asleep, this should be easier than expected. Although the bird goddess isn't one to let the other make a fair move; she'll try moving twice before she's struck back at.

The black sparrowhawk is roosting near the main entrance to the Firekin cavern, to watch the comings and goings. She's preening her feathers on a tree that sticks out from the cliff's side nearby, one black, sardonic eye kept attuned to anything that moves. She'd best not stay too long, however. Hopefully Finar-si and her siblings are off watching their precious children - but she can't take the chance that one of them won't come back here to check on the Blood.

Exalla

Had it not been for a cloud of dust rasing behind the cheetah and her blurred black spots, she would have been invisible to an animal's eye. She had snuck upon the gazelle and ony a mere meter away, the gazelle felt her prescence and took off running. Both animals zipped this way and that, making large zig zags.

Taka was growing nearer to the gazelle and just as she was about to swipe at the animal's back legs, she recieved a well aimed kick to the face. She slowed down only a for a splt second, blood dripping from her eyes that was not completely red. That only lit her fire further and after catching up to the cervid again, she swiped at it's legs and the beast fell to the ground.

Triumphant, Taka started dragging the carcass towards the cubs and then droppped in front of them, panting with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. Her left right eye was completely void of a pupil and was filled with a bright crimson that was slowly dripping down her cheek. She wiped at it and the bleeding stopped but her eyes remained the same odd color. Teule gulped and looked worriedly at his mom's eye, she didn't even seem to notice. Taka scratched open the carcass and took the first bite, motioning for them to eat too.

"There you see? Easy as pie. Why are you looking at me so funny?"

Jasi starred in awe at Taka's preformance. That was amazing! She had never seen an animal run so fast. She let out a shrill gasp when Taka got hit, and stared at her as she thought nothing of it. "Eh...doesnt that..hurt?"She said, feeling a little queezy.

The unforgiving sun beat down upon the tarnished pelt of the slim lioness. Waka paced, her paws making no sound as they pressed lightly down upon the sun-baked earth. It was often on days like this that Waka became restless, not wanting to fall prey to the heat, and get caught taking a nap.

Eventually, Waka decided that today, the sun was too heinous even for her. Trailing her way slowly toward the cavern entrance, Waka paused for a moment as she spotted Hestia. A few fleeting thoughts entered her head, but they were dismissed as soon as they arrived.

((I assume she can see her....Sorry, I haven't RPed in a while. I've about forgotten everything I memorized about the SOAs. XD;

And it's rather short. *Pokes the post.* ._.; ))

Taka cocked her head to the side and examined the rest of her body before turning to give the cub a confused look, her bloodied eye shining with distinct curiousity.

"Doesn't what hurt?"

Taka sniffed the air suddenly, knowing it was the new little lion cub that had shown up but something was odd about it. It smelled nearly like exactly Teule. Taka bent her head down, hoping for a second opinion since the cub probably had a better nose than her.

"Jasi, does...doesn't Wokovu smell like strangely like Teule?"
