Inferno slept for a few hours until he felt better. Hr sat up and yawned.
"What a night. I need a bite."
Inferno walked over to an apple tree and picked off a few and ate them.
"That's better- what?"
Inferno sniffed the air.
"That's alot of blood. Powerful demon blood."
Inferno looked around to make sure there was noone watching. He removed his jacket and tied it around his waist. Then his wings bursted out of his back and he flew off to the north.

Kenji quickly rolled over, dodging the punch and the energy that followed it. Dirt flew everywhere around him, making it hard to see. Pushing himself up, he was about to lauch a counterattack but was stopped by Shadow appearing right in front of him.

"Where's Leon?" The dragon-in-diguise asked in a demanding voice.

Kenji stopped himself, "I dunno. Haven't seen him yet," He looked at Rayl expectantly.

"He never showed up."

Shadow muttered something under her breath, "Fine. You all are coming with me. Leon has other business to take care of right now..." She looked around, "Where's your sister Rayl, and that other kid that Leon metioned to me?"

Shadow shook her head, "Leon would have told them to come here and I do sense Kinera's aura nearby. However," She looked out to the city, "the other one is not here."

Kenji tapped his foot impatiently, "So what do we do now?"

"We find Kinera and the new kid and kick some demon butt."

Looking at Rayl's nagita, "Shadow, do you have a weapon I could use? I don't think using my bare hands can do the job right."

She blinked twice then pulled a sword out from..nowhere.

"Must be magic..." Kenji thought.

"Of course its magic. Where else could it be?" the wolf growled sarcastically.

"I wonder if there's any limit to what magic can do.."

"Like everything else, magic has to follow a set number of rules. No different from everything else. Learn the limits before you do something foolish." Kenji was about to thought-retort back to the rune, but was interrupted by it, "I'm not going to tell you everything just yet pup. So listen and learn."

Kenji mentally scowled and took the sword from Shadow's hands. It was the same sword that he used in that fight with the rune. He looked up at the dragon and was about to say something but she spoke first.

"Its name is Fenrir; Something Leon and I thought that Lonewolf's sword should have: a name. Take care of it or we'll beat you till there's nothing left of you."

He coughed nervously and kept a tight hold on it.

Shadow sighed and also summoned her halberd, "C'mon, let's go find Kienra and that one kid."

Rayl grabbed his sisters hand, "Of course. Shadow let's go now!"

Inferno walked through the forest and thought about all the strange thing that were happening lately.
"It's strange that so much is happening right now. These demons are causing all sorts of mayhem. They come, poisens Lonewolf's pet, he goes insane, kills Haji, Leon fights Lonewolf, BEATS him, and six kids with powerful auras appear out of the wood-works. The demons coming caused a big chain reaction with Lonewolf... those kids power coming out now of all times is no coincidence. They are linked into this somehow. Something makes them special, their fates are intertwined with matters bigger than they can imagine. But how? And why? Something makes them different. They all had a scent. Something.... familiar... something... from the past."
Inferno continued to travel through the woods with no real destination in mind.
"There's something about them. But I'm not gonna get involved. Not yet. Leon slacked off over these years, but apparently being a demon slayer hasn't let me fight high level demons. Not like before. Back before that final battle against Fumasuike, I fought high level demons and mages and witches and monsters and more all the time. But they all vanished after that battle. It was peaceful. And I had nothing to fight except weak low level demons that leaked through the cracks. But now they're leaking out too fast, they appear outta nowhere. Have I lost my touch finding them... or are they really appearing all over and not from a single source? They mighy be traveling through the corridors of darkness. Sneaking through the realm of darkness and immerging from the shadows. It's possible. But not likely."
Inferno cracked his neck.
"I'll keep looking."
Inferno looked at the setting sun.
"And perhaps I'll keep a third eye on those brats that were with Shadow." stare
Inferno smiled and wicked looking smile.
"You can't protect them forever, they've been chosen, and now they're fates are sealed, weither they like it or not. They're caught in our story now." twisted

Inferno walked through the forest and sensed a battle somwhere in the city.
"Its them. I know it."
Inferno ran up the side of a big tree and stood on the end of a branch stretching out beyond the leaves. He stood straight with his arms folded looking out towards the city at the battle, even though it was completely out of sight. Inferno watched the battle through the auras.
"The demons are rather low leveled, not anything that I couldn't handle in a few few seconds. But the auras fighting them... they interest me. One of them seems to be an elemental user, still a novice, but he can use it simply by will. Another is weaker, but a strong light burns inside ready to help... but it seems like it wants to help others more than herself. Than there's a really weak one, but her aura flickers up and down like a breeze, but still she is helpless in both meanings of the word. The last one is the strangest of all."
Inferno focused in on Kenji's aura.
"It seems familar. Like I know it from the past. He is strong, but his aura is very strong, looks he doesn't kniow how to use its power. Then there's the other aura in side him. A cursed aura. Like Leon. But its HIS aura that bothers me, not the curse. He feels like someone..."
Inferno sensed the power come off Kenji's blade.
"His sword! That's... how'd he get his gubby little hands on it? Who... who is this kid?"

~Meanwhile, deeper in the forest~

Oric floated in the steady steam, making sure to stay away from the raging rapids the creek fed into yards down stream.
"Well, the leaves are starting to fall from the trees. That means winter is comin'. I guess I should start gathering food rations soon."
Oric heard a twig snap, and looked to the side to see a large bear.
"Hello bear."
The bear roared in anger and swiped it's claw at the boy. Oric jumped dove as deep as the water let him and dodged the attack. He swam up stream to a really shallow part of the stream, a pebble covered break in the stream that was only half a foot deep.
"Hey! I didn't do nothing to you!"
The angry bear approached the boy on the shallow 'bridge'.
"Don't make me fight you." mad
The bear stood up on it's hind legs and began to swing it's claws at the boy.
"Fine! I tried to warn you!"
The young man pulled out his katana and began to block the bear claws with it, occasionally cutting the bear when he parried. The bearrose it's claw high into the air ready to bring it down and the boy held his sword horizontally over his head ready to block the attack, but bear used it's other free arm and swatted the boy. Oric was thrown a few feet away but his sword escaped his hands and flew out onto the shore behind him.
"No."
Oric cried as he saw his weapon land out of reach. He turned back to see the bear. It stood towering infront of him, blocking the sun. The bear reached back to deliver a final blow.
"Arrrrrrrrrrgh- Sonic Fist Strike!"
Oric lertched forward and began to rapidly punch the bear's torso in a fury of punches. His hands were a blur as he punched the bear. Finally the bear fell back and hit the watery bridge with a crash. Oric stood still until he caught his breath. He saw the bear begin the move, so he ran and grabbed his katana. He ran back to finish the bear off. Then he heard a small whine in the trees behind the bear. He looked, keeping one eye on the bear, and saw two young bear cubs.
"Your the mother."
Oric jumped backwards and sheathed his sword.
"I'm sorry. I won't kill her."
The bear began to get up and move away from the misleadingly weak-looking boy. Oric looked down and saw that the bears fall had created a dip in the pebble bridge and a school of fish began to swim through it. Oric reached down and snatched a large fish fromt he water. He then threw it and it landed infront of the bear. The bear looked back to see the origins of the fish and saw the boy a couple yards away. The bear then looked at it's cubs, back at the fish, then the boy. The mama bear picked up the fish in it's mouth and walked back to her cubs, and they disappeared back into the forest.
"You're welcome." wink
The boy caught himself a fish and began to walk down the side of the river torwards home.

"This one will be a cinch." Elliana, stood atop a tree over-looking the cave Inferno went into. She had kept her power level completely veiled from him the whole time. She hopped off the branch she was standing on and landed on the wet mud. Slowly, she made her way to the cave. Once inside, she saw the demon sleeping soundly in the corner. "Rise and shine, Inferno." She said as the familiar blue aura surrounded both Inferno and her.



"My sister wishes to play with you." They both dissapeared.

The boy swung from branch to branch, letting the branches springiness catapult him further than a regular jump. He grabbed another tree branch and swung around it and let go, sending him flying. He landed of a large tree branch on all fours.
"Something isn't right. I feel... uncomfortable... like... something just isn;t right. There's something wrong. I just know it."
The red headed boy watched as the animals in the forest began to travel southeast.
"I knew it. They're acting up too."
The young man looked in the direction the animals were coming from.
"What are you all running from?"
He knew it would be a bad idea to head to the source of such panic, but he couldn't run away either.
"I don't understand these feelings. I know there's something bad over there, but there's something deep inside that is drawing me towards the danger."
He slowly moved west by northwest through the trees to see if the feeling changed, making sure he didn't build any real momentum in case he needed to run back like the animals.
