Eliza9790 Quote: Logically and within reason? No. It's really that simple. I have logically disproven the Abrahamic God scores of times. However, I will go with a compromise. The reason I am a weak atheist is that I believe in a possibility of anything, logical or illogical. It is possible, and probably true, that logic is flawed. However, according to current rules of logic and my knowledge (Which I will admit is extremely limited), the Abrahamic God cannot exist. But also according your rules of logic, or reason or sound judgment, you can deduce that science, could be wrong and God could exist? So it is logical, that, at the very least, God could exist? Right? It is logical to believe that there is a possiblity of God, even if that possibility is under an illogical circumstance. Yes. You may continue. However, in saying that God does not follow the rules of logic, keep in mind that you are also saying that any discussion of God and ultimate reality cannot be constrained by basic principles of rationality. This would seem to make rational discourse about God impossible. If rational discourse about God is impossible, there is nothing rational we can say about God and nothing rational we can say to support our belief or disbelief in God. To reject rational constraints on religious discourse in this fashion requires accepting that religious convictions are beyond any debate or rational discussion. Quote: I don't really care. Just any God or Higher Being that falls under that defintion. My purpose here, is not to proove one religion right or wrong. I just want to proove atheists wrong. I love religion. Well, dear, I'm only atheist to certain religions. Many theist religions are perfectly logical. Some of them I can believe (e.g. Certain forms of Deism), some of them I don't know about and I consider myself agnostic to. (e.g. Wicca)

While this discussion is very fascinating it is totally not what the thread was created for. If you two wanna keep discussing this I'll have to ask that you create another thread for it. 3nodding

hmmm do animals go to heaven..? I think that all depends.. what is your definition of heaven. What is heaven really? What are we doing in heaven? Is it like Prairie with trees and calmness.. Or is it just a state of mind and complete peace where you are no longer strained with the questions of life that burdened you. I too wonder this.
And animals, God created them just as he created us, but I dunno. I think I remember somewhere I read in the bible that animals were created for us..for our use. That kinda makes sense, they keep the world at balance and in some cases become mans friends and help us live our lives. So maybe they dont really have a soul where they can think and choose and be crazy in the head about questions that will neve be answered.. They are more simple. Maybe they have some sort of special spirit, who knows..

Dark Captain Gio I've been bothered by this queston all my life, my friends say I hope so, but I've still wondered if they. I mean pets I feel are like family and for them to die and not go anywhere....well that sucks it's sad, I was hoping they go to heaven but IDK... confused there was a story that I once read it was about a man and his dog they had both died! both of them were walking and they came to a golden gaet with streets of gold and clouds of pearls there was a man inside and the gentle w/ the dog asked if he could have a drink of water! and he also asked what this place was called! the man within replied it is heaven and told him that he colud come in but not his dog ....so he walked away! they kept walking until they came to a meadow and there was aman lying underneath a tree! the gentleman ased if he and his dog could have some water and he said yes! so they did that and walked back to the man underneath the tree and asked what this place was? and the man replied "this is heaven" but the gentle man waconfused and said that the plcae that he visted before said that that was heaven.. "Oh no" said the man that was hell!! SO the gentle man asked if they were angery for hell to be using their name? and the man replied "No. They weed out the ppl that leave their best friends behind!

I asked my Youth Leader and she simply said: "If it takes animals to make heaven perfect, they'll be there."

It's not an easy topic to answer, since we don't know about the spiritual workings of animals. However, since there were animals in the Garden of Eden, and Eden was heaven on earth before the fall, then I see no reason why it would be impossible for animals to go to heaven. On the flip side, what constitutes a sin for an animal? Is there any? Especially if they don't have free will?

Well,Heaven's supposed to have what makes people happy...animals make people happy,so there's no reason they COULDN'T be there. Might not be the same animals, though. You never know.

We can train gorillas, but if they decide they don't want to be trained then that's it.

My boyfriend told me this. Ben Heaven, to me, is a place where you are close to God. Not like the closeness to God you can get from being here on Earth, but the kind of closeness that you can have a face-to-face conversation, and he's right there with you. Hell, to me, is somewhere where you're completely cut off from God, and that's the worst thing that could ever happen. I agree with him completely. It doesn't make a difference who we are or what we like, that doesn't change what sort of Heaven we experience. Everyone, deep down, needs to be with God, and that's what makes Heaven the best thing of all. It is said that Heaven is better than we could ever even imagine it, and we know the extent of our imagination is VERY outrageous. Being with God is something that would make Heaven the place beyond our wildest imagination.

The Bible says that all creation groans for the resurrection of the dead - that includes animals.
