The patients had been unloaded from the ambulence and taken into the hospital quickly. Much too quickly for him to successfully think of a reason for joining them before they were already gone. Gervain could feel the souls in the building that were just on the brink of death... it was very tempting. But hospitals were under a lot of surveilance - after all, a terrorist or something might just pop into a hospital on the off chance that killing people who were already about to die would cause a major uproar. He scowled up at the building for a moment before turning - much too quickly. In his haste to leave before the temptaion became too great, he bumped into someone. This was, of course, not unfrequent. New York being New York, there were always too many people busying about to make it possible NOT to bump into people.

((I need to draw up a pic of Gervain that doesn't totally suck. xD;;; ))

Leif let out a low ouf at being crashed into, but he'd been walked into sideways so he pretty much just stood still. Until he felt the jolt of magical energy brewing beneath the offending bumper's skin. "Wha?" He grunted and took a step backwards, cracking the packed snow in long lines spreading out from his feet. "s**t... What the ******** is that...?" He mumbled to the snow, backing up further until the packed snow was solid under him again. He stared at the man who had caused such a jolt inside him, and all these strange goings on that couldn't possibly be Leif himself. Just like his house collapsing around him couldn't possibly be his fault. He couldn't move for a second, too caught up in all the thoughts that shot through him at once.

((remember the no auras rule! :"O But, since Gervain is so preocupied with stealing sould and whatnot, I suppose this might be perceivable. But he's usually pretty uptight and paranoid about keeping his secrets - although he appears laid back on the outside.

Also, this will probably be my last post for the night. sweatdrop So, if it be my last, then g'night. x3;;; ))

Gervain frowned, feeling a slight tingling shoot all the way down from his shoulder to the finger-tips of the arm that had so carelessly bumped into the other. What could possibly have...? He had been careless. Inwardly cursing himself, he turned to look cooly over at the other, a strange, calculating glint in his eyes. "I'm sorry... is it so abnormal to accidentally knock into someone?" he asked, sounding slightly sarcastic and quite a bit irked. he hoped the other hadn't noticed anything - it would be hard to explain and improv wasn't Gervain's strongest aspect.

"I just..." Pale green eyes roamed over the snow, making sure the cracks in the hard packed ice really were there. A fine line of cracks could be seen in the hollow between the crevices of snow. He shook his head and stormed off down the street, waving his hand, waving it off. He was tired, he was cold, he couldn't have done that or seen it and that stranger had nothing to do with it. Right? Maybe.
((Sorry, I just always figured magic had currents like electricity, I wasn't saying anything about aura's, just that his unawakened power got drawn to the surface a bit. ^^; ))

Apple's dark eyes widened. Deffinately NOT normal. At all. "...'Angel Puff'?!" he asked incredulously. Exactly what was this guy - crazy?! He was indeed cold, but not nearly cold enough to allow a complete stranger to hit on him. He tried to push away from the other, but his efforts were in vain. After all, the man was quite strong. "I'm... I'm... not an... angel... or... a puff," he huffed as he continued to try and distance himself from the other.

::Jaunus backed away and laughed nervously. This sort of thing doesnt happen all the time. He tryed to hide the blush that was on his face::

"Eheheh sorry about that. I couldnt control myself. Im Jaunus, whats your real name Angel Puff?"
((Also, Hei, could you try and make yours a liiiittle longer? ;D; ))

"Apple..." he muttured, his expression skeptical. Having introduced himself, he took his name out of his pocket and began to eat it. It was a nice, juicy red fruit - a little too juicy and, as he was ot the neatest eater out there, small amounts of sticky, sweet juice dribbled down his chin and hand. His wide eyes stared up at the other, almost as if he were trying to assess just how crazy this guy was. In a sense, that was what he was doing... only not in any particularly orderly or sophisticated way. Apple was, after not, rather stupid. It was quite a pity, but it was true.

((yeah sorry bout that. i didnt know what else to say. Also the mental images of your post make me *squee* ))

::Jaunus lowered his eyes again and laughed. As he watched the boy it reminded him of when he was little. The same sort of wide eyed stare, though not as wide as Apples, that seemed to be seeing everything and nothing all at the same time. What confused him and made him feel strange was the way the boy looked at him. He stayed there looking into Apples eyes until he realized he was actually eating an apple. Jaunus smiled again and took the apple from Apple and told him to be quiet. He firmly grasped the Apple and made it wither and die. All that was left in hsi hands were the seeds. He picked up one seeds and suddenly, like life fastforewarded, the seed went through germenation to fruition in less than a minuete. He did the same with the other seeds::

"ta da! SO what do you think Apple Puff?"

"It's not really a question I should even have thought about asking...so it's not important at all..." Kuno replied softly, "But I suppose I could ask you....if you promise not to tell me I'm crazy...." he said softly, trying to say it quiet enough that Shiyaa would not hear him. Why do I even care? It's a temporary job...and besides....the kid can't be a mage...he's too young to have developed powers yet..... Kuno thought. But then again....I did get mine when I was five....

" You need to speak up a little, Kuno....I didn't here that last part.....ask away, though," He said, writing a bit more on the paper. He finished writing, his work number, cell, address and various things about Kiyo written neatly on the scrap. He held it out to Kuno, then waited for the question.

"I was gonna ask what his favorite kind of story is...." Kuno lied as he took the piece of paper and looked it over before quickly putting it in his pocket. It would be stupid to ask...stupid AND careless...then everyone would either know I'm a mage, or think I'm insane...and I can't be exposed...and I can't be committed to an asylum... Kuno thought as he unconciously raised the temperature around himself again. "How long am I suppose to keep him?" Kuno asked.

"I guess just like anyone else would feel after having been hit by a taxi," Skyy answered, leaving the uncertainty dwelling of whether he was being sarcastic or not. "Painkillers? I'll take a whole pack.. Ok, ok. I guess I'll settle with two for now." The nurse poured him a glass of water and handed him the two pills which he immediatly downed. "Guy with red hair? Yeah, I came in with him."

As he felt the medication slide down his throat, Nurse Linda informed Skyy that Kalen had been asking about him, even recapping some of their conversation. So much for any confidentiality between doctor and patient. Not that he minded. It was just all the more information for himself. "So, his name's Kalen, huh? What room's he in?"

"At the far end of this hallway. Room 289," she replied. "But I don't recommend either of you to really be up and moving about just yet. Your injuries are fresh and you need your rest. Now I'll leave you alone to do just that. Goodnight."

Rest? He had been on his back the entire time for nearly the past four hours. Hell if he was going to listen to some nurse..

Meanwhile, Linda made her way back to Kalen room. "Mission accomplished," she announced with a smile. "It seems your little friend's name is.. Skyy Lemonte. Oh my, and you were right.. He is a looker, but seems to be a little lacking in the 'Prince Charming' section."
Kalen had bluntly refused to be moved out of his wheelchair, for fear that he'd be stuck entirely immobile in a bed. He waited impatiently for the nurse's return, a fisted hand propping up his chin as he leaned his arm on the chair's armrest. Every few minutes, his eyes drifted down to his injured knee, and he mentally cursed himself for not curing himself before someone found this out. When Linda returned with the positive news, the red-haired teen smiled, pleased. So his name was Skyy..? Nice name.

Kalen smirked at the nurse's description of him. Lacking in the 'Prince Charming' department? Now why would she say a thing like that? "Oh? Is he acting rudely to you, now?" he inquired, muttering sarcastically under his breath. The nurse didn't seem to hear. "Thanks," he nodded, "What room?"

"Room... 283," she replied, checking her clipboard, "But I discourage you both from visiting. You need your rest! I'll leave you to it. You know to press the nurse call button if you need me," she instructed before turning on her heel and exiting the room.

Kalen's plans, however, weren't to sit still in the least. He wasn't terribly tired, anyway. Waiting a few minutes after her departure, the pyromancer pulled his jacket off the bed and into his lab and wheeled himself out into the hallway. He passed the rooms slowly. 288...287..'86..'85..'84.. 283. The door was open slightly. Kalen pushed it open more with the side of his wheelchair and entered. He came upon the vision of the familiar male before trying the information he'd learned. "Skyy Lemonte?"

Skyy did't notice as the door was pushed open. He had suspected after the nurse left, he would have the remainder of the evening to himself in order to 'rest'. So, the dark-haired photographer wasn't expecting to be caught in his current position. One crutch laying prostrate on the floor, the other leaning against the wall just near him. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, trying to gingerly pull his shirt on the rest of the way over his bandaged torso.

His head just popped through the top of the shirt when he heard his name called. It took a good portion of restraint not to hurl himself back under the covers like a child caught sneaking out. However, when he caught sight of that mop of red hair, his nerves were washed with relief. Relief and surprise. Why was he here? Not that he was overly upset by that fact. "Ever heard of a thing called knocking.. Kalen?" he asked, testing the name as he finished redressing himself.

Cameron was walking along the street when he suddenly bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said, smiling. "No, no, it's ok. I've got other things to worry about," said the stranger. "Oh, let me take those problems away then," said Cameron, his face going dark. Befre the stranger could say anything, a grissly hand went through his chest, killing him instantly. "Now your problems are over." He casted the appropriate spells on the body, then walked off into the night, two bodies following him.

Kalen raised his eyebrows and shrugged at the question. "I'm sorry?" he tried, with a certain lack of sincerity. The glimpse of that torso that he caught before the shirt concealed all else reminded him of how his hand had traveled over Skyy's side sensing for a broken rib. It took him a moment before he snapped out of his daze and was left with a threatening heat in his cheeks as he bent his head down to prevent it from being seen. "I ... um, well, how are you feeling? What did the doctors say?" he asked, "Is your head okay and everything?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 23, 2006 12:29 pm

"Is this some kind of interview or something?" Skyy asked sarcastically after the line of questioning. "Well, apparently everything's a lot better than they expected. No broken bones or anything. They thought it was a bit weird, though. Especially the patch of blood I had in my hair. They couldn't find any injuries to have caused it." He shrugged in disinterest, his legs dangling off the side of the bed. "And what's up with you? A wheelchair? And here the only things I got were crutches and some painkillers."

Kalen shifted uncomfortably in his chair, worried, though knowing it was impossible for him to be suspected. He felt a little more at ease with how detached Skyy acted to the matter, and a wave of relief fell over him that the other would be all right. With the return questioning, Kalen looked down at his present state.

"Oh. Well, I, uhh... My knee got busted and I banged up my arm... but the wheelchair is kind of unnecessary. They just were playing it safe, I guess," he responded. "...So what now? I'm supposed to 'rest' and wait for evaluations or something tonight." Kalen scrunched his nose in disapproval. "It's ridiculous. It's not really that bad. I just want to go home..." he muttered with irritation.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 23, 2006 1:43 pm

"Oh, you're getting the 'rest treatment' as well?" Skyy asked, reaching over to take ahold of the crutch against the wall. "Seems to be a common medication around here. Well, I don't know about you, but I don't quite intend to take my proper dosage. Right now, I'm about to starve, and I know if I try to call for anyone they'll bring me stale bread and jello. In other words, nothing edible." He was experienced enough to know most hospital food was never up to par with his tastes. Especially the coffee.

Pushing himself off the bed, Skyy balanced himself on his good foot and the crutch. "I'd love to get out of here as much as you, though. They'll probably run non-stop tests tomorrow morning," he continued. "But with this ankle, I wouldn't be able to get very far anyway. Not to mention I only have enough cash to get me a few blocks by taxi. All the buses will have stopped running by now.. Looks like I'm stuck."

A short laugh escaped Kalen at the image of the other eating said hospital food. He soon halted the laughter, however and listened rather curiously to Skyy's desire to break out as well. An idea sprung into Kalen's mind.

"I live in Greenwich which is.. what? 9 blocks away? And I have enough to get me pretty close to home. What would you say to... combining the cash and getting us to my place? You can stay the night," he stated, offering. "And tomorrow I can get you back to your place. What do you think?"
