It's true. Band is like one big happy family, obviously, because we are all band nerds there is an incest joke ro two wiggled in there somewhere. But I don't share even half the interests with people outside band as I do in band.

I'm dating inside band, it seems fine to me. And since we don't plan on having babies I don't think we'll need to find out about the incest.

eeeew! disgusting, ive never thought of it that way, but im really close with the people in my band. only one of them i would even consider dating. all of the people worth more that i know arent in band exactly but are definatly the best musicians at our school...

Well, I have nothing wrong with band relationships (I currently like a drummer) but they can get pretty out of hand. I think that only the truly mature students should consider another bando for a boy/girlfriend. Things can happen (and are more likely to happen in my band) and they should be aware of this.

It's one big happy family because we almost "marry" each other. Like one big happy family of in-laws! yay.

I've dated one guy outside of band. I won't do it ever again. Band kids need those conversations...
BF: Hey, what's wrong?
ME: I can't play a high Bb because my horn is broken.
BF: Dang. When does it go in the shop?
ME: In 2 weeks... Man, my audition is only in 3 weeks, I don't know if I'll be able to play well enough or be used to that note only being able to play it for like a week. Dang, I hate auditions. I'm so stressed, etc, I suck, someone please kill me before I embarrass myself, etc...
BF: I totally understand. I hate it when.... blahblahblah

everyone KNOWS they talk to their band kid boyfriends like that. Or else I am simply nuts.

Also, if you are in the same musical organization, you get to share the orgasmic experience of music. Yay. People connect through music. Look at the movies. Romeo and Juliet dancing... I suppose that's almost a bad example.
Whatever. I think people get a closeness from sharing music that cannot be duplicated by sharing other activities.

I don't think that anybody in my band dates anybody outside band sweatdrop

My girlfriend is in band, plays flute/piccolo/oboe, heart
and I play French Horn/Mellophone (marching french horn) 3nodding

I won't go into details, but she and I aren't exactly innocent in the terms of sexual activity wink Whatever happens in the practice room stays in the practice room. sweatdrop

Haha! There is one inner band relationship that we have in our miniscule little band, and they are planning on marrying after college. Its so cute! heart

However, the only other inner band relationshop we've had ended in the first flute (me) not playing for a month, becuase a clarinetist hurt her so badly. Of course, he got waht was coming to him, when the whole band including the BD hated his guts until I started playing well again. sweatdrop
It was quite interesting.

Moral of the story: Band relationships are good! You get to spend lots of chaperone free time together, and if you're BD doesn't mind, even MORE free time together. wink Just dont break too many hearts. It might affect the music.

*happy side note* The clarinetist and I are great freinds now. He was terribly sorry, and I agreed to be friends with him. It all worked out for the best.

i dont see anything wrong with dating inside band, i like a trumpet player heart , but if ur going to ruin band for everyone by braking sombodys heart, then date outside band.

personally, though, i proly couldent date outside band, 'cause i talk about it so much. biggrin heart

mmmhm...8th grade was a much more simpler time.

so right now im still mad at one percussionist (because he said my boobs were too small stressed ) and theres another one that........*trails off* so long story short, the senior color guard captain wont let me go out with anyone in drumline......
