((Obeying post order=win.

A random and unnecessary noting.

And I'm with Owle, I'm tired, and need to do judging duty tomorrow again, I want sleep. Plus family members are being disturbed by my being up= not good.))

lol, no. In a complex series of caverns with endless natural twists and turns, a full-grown -armoured- bear was going to turn 180ยบ and somehow 'smack' Shouyin directly backwards into his comrade? Like Hell. A horizontal swipe was reasonable, but not some sort of bear-style palm thrust that would completely stop the half-golem's gathered momentum (250~ pound man running full tilt and jumping) and then force it backwards, especially when it was doubted that the animal could get up on its hind legs for extra mobility and still handle the rider on its back.

So let's just say the bear got around, but by then Shouyin would be inside its range. Of course, despite his brief oversight of the rider on top, the half-golem had still jumped high enough to get on the animal's back, and he wasn't some physics-defying acrobat, so no crazy mid-air maneuvers. However he could handle a few things.

Most of Shou's right knee, skin and bone, would become layered with stone, about an inch or two pressing against the black singlesuit he wore under his camo gear. As he sailed forwards, this knee would ram into the bear's skull. The half-golem didn't know the calculations, but a blow like that, armoured helm or not, would stun -anything-. This would knock the man forwards a little, so with arms held out in front, he would flying football tackle Kalis right off his mount, aiming to catch him in the middle of the torso with his right shoulder while getting his right arm around the back of his waist, left hand stabbing the combat knife (held in reverse grip), into the right side of his lower rib cage.

And as a precaution to Kalis sword, the half-golem's back would be layered in stone as well.

"I'M THE ******** WHIRLWIND!"

Sam was running hell bent on Shou, who she saw as her knight in shining armor at the moment. No matter that he was being gnawed on by bears. He could handle it. She'd seen in him in action in the Void. So Shade was aimed for her gut...too bad there wasn't any gut to hit..She was, as mentioned before, her arms over her chest/torso area. Which means hunched for those of you in the know and so it got her shoulder instead...Which was going to hurt like a b***h come morning. Why wasn't there a white mage on their side. gonk

Anyways, she's breaking for Shou, like any good damsel in distress, when yay...another ******** wall of Moss appears. And with vines and such reaching for her, She never felt this popular in high school. And well, Sam doesn't have anything really handy. She stopped, and quite simply turned, and fired the gun at her hip. All one nice smooth motion. And prayed it wasn't waterlogged. It wasn't. Those techs were good for something after all. Maybe she'd give them a raise.

1st roll=SamTo hit +15
2nd roll=Mozz to Dodge/absorb + 17

The bear had it's hands full with the crazy man and moving aside from the beast which had more to worry about with the stone child pummeling him then the little gnat Quin was was easy enough to get around.

Finally within reach of the bowmen and was in their midsts.

Bowmen, good at range, but damn did they suck at melee. And never was this more apparent then when Quin unleashed a pent up furry on their collective asses. The first jab of the hilt sent the one stumbling as the thrust caught the other. With the sword inbedded into the man Quin pulled the blade out in a slash that caught the man next to him.

"Clumped all together you'll all die together. What brotherly love."

Turning with a slash the sword was going for their abdomens. The first man had his guts literaly torn from his body as the second one if he survived, no promise, would have a scar to boast of.

((What the hell? Need to get the stabbing out of my head, sword not knife. Happy?))

A parry by a man who seemingly had come out of nowhere was a tad surprising, but not that surprising. Pressing back against the man with one hand, he countered by pulling a flash grenade, or what amounted to one from his waist. Quickly priming and activating the grenade, it detonated pointblank infront of the two, of course this was going to suck a**. This was of course after holding it just before it detonated, at which point he tossed it up to about their chest levels. But there was no concievable way that either of them would be able to actually fight for the next few seconds.

((Thank you, Quin. heart That makes me feel like I'm not being ignored...))

The two men Quin assaulted did in fact die, and their six comrades scattered, running away from Quin. They soon found themselves face to face with one of their own spirit bears, which, while a helpful resource, delayed their flight for a moment while they tried to go around. Giving Quin time to kill more.

Those that survived would feel considerably safer once they got behind the bear, and begin knocking arrows to their bows.

Gritting his teeth, Hein cast a side glance over at the moss wall. He hated the ******** green things. Meat anyday. Mustering all his strength, he pushed against Shade's knife and, in one fluid motion, pulled out the bow from his back and whipped it against his face.

Skipping back, he turned to Shade and pulled out his bow. Stray rays of moonlight began to break in from outside, falling on the recurve and causing it to glow with a dim aura as vines of ivy sprouted from his grip on the wood, looping and coiling around the length, reaching the tips and then tightening into a wire-thin drawstring. Golden runes began to burn themselves into the bare wood, faintly glowing still with firefly light.

Pulling back with no ammo in place, Hein smiled as a bolt of arcane energy formed from his finger tips to his hand, a perfect shaft. But it didn't stop there. The arrow began to grow, collecting energy as it began to look more and more like some BIG FRIGGING GIANT of an arrow. Smirking, he let go and Shade immediatly had a BFG flying straight at him.

TheMightyJello
TheMightyJello: This is divine mandate. Due to ignoring Hein, Shade now has to contend with a point blank BFG.

And then something strange happend.

While these caves didn't directly colapse some elsehwere did. Those caves just happend to be under water, and thanks to the dam they were under alot of water. They just hadn't got around to emptying since the dam was destroyed. That would take a few days.

Or a few moments if a colapsing tunnel was displacing water by the metric ******** wall of water would sweep through all the caves. Giving them the good cleaning they needed for a very very long time.

And so the earth's bowels were flushed of paracites.

((Ok, if you want to continue on Random number between 1 and 4.

1: Lightless caves
2: Ravine
3: climb
4: mines

If you want to go to sleep, assume to the water washed you into the river after the ravine, and you'll wake up sometime tommrow.

If you want to die, you will be washed down into the depths of the earth.

The objective is over. The artifact has been lost forever when the water washed through, god knows where. The miners will get points for keeping it away from the more magicaly inclined factions.

That's all. I can barely see straight.

EDIT: Shade still has to deal with the arrow.))

As the shots fired Zen leaped backwards and backflipped into a curl as he was shrouded in his ball barrier once more, the bullets that reached him merely richocetting(sp?) off of the sphere, with a little control of his blood Zen two halves of the ball began to spin like tires while a slit in the center held his body steady. It was transparent, but protective Zen spun towards Hein who was drawing back an arrow, Zen's center of the ball became colllected with spikes as he hurdled at Hein at about 25 MPH.
