So she was over a century old. Well, that would make things more difficult. It would be so easy to get answers from her, but still not impossible.

As for not wanting to act old, he could relate. Whenever he was with Hiei, he loosened up considerably, even teasing and playing on occasion. The comment about the werewolf surprised him. Usually, they did not take kindly to humans nor demons, and didn't have a good reputation. And this girl /played/ with one? Interesting.

"A werewolf? That sounds nice. Do you travel often, then?"

((Okay. Try to give her a reason to leave, so she doesn't just disappear. I'll make do if you don't, though.

((Juuust... gonna do a little filler post for Hiei so I won't feel so dead. xD))

It was rare that Hiei was deep enough in sleep not to wake. In truth, he had been tired even before he had met up with Kurama at the park. Of course he hadn't shown it. Sleeping this way made his expression soften, eyebrows not hard and jaw not tightened. His breathing even came in and out more freely. Unguarded and untroubled, Hiei was probably most open when he was like this.

"He came here, actually." She giggled softly, "He ate Kasai's cooking his first night here, and he got sick! I usually cook, though I tend to make a mess of things."

She looked him in the eye. "Will you play with me tomorrow? And Hiei too? I promise it will be fun. Please?" Her eyes got really big, while her irises seemed to quadruple in size, so she looked like Bambi.

(I don't own Bambi, but I do need to leave soon...)

((No, you must live! 'Cause then, if you don't, I'll have to mercilessly poke you with a rubber chicken. <3))

"I cannot promise that Hiei will, but I may," Kurama said, still making an effort to be nice. Her eyes did not effect him at all, but he would let her believe they did. In truth, such a thing would only work if it was the Koorime trying it, and that was ridiculous to even think about.

Kasai made her way upstairs in a huff. She just /had/ to leave Night alone. The kitchen was a disaster, and she refused to clean it. Couldn't she have just asked the psychic for left-overs or something like that?

And then, when she reached the room, she heard her insulting her own cooking. It wasn't her fault she had no clue what werewolves could and couldn't eat!

"Night, I think you had better get downstairs and fix your mess," the demoness said in a sugary-sweet voice, one with a slightly dangerous edge. She loved to decorate, but hated to clean.

"Okay," Night fell on her side suddenly and curled up. "Good night, Kurama. Happy dreams." She fell asleep faster than should be legal. A mouse scurried in and crawled up onto her head and settled down to sleep. Then Kasai spoke. Night's head shot up, sending the mouse flying at Hiei. She saw what happened, scooped up her mouse and ran out of the room. "Good night!" She called over her shoulder.

(Gotta go, but I should be on tomorrow, about the same time.)

The window clicked again as Hiei shifted, opening his eyes half-way and looking at Kurama vaguely. He didn't know what had woken him, and was in that dreamy state one was usually in when woken up.

"Did—" he had to pause slightly to try to focus his eyes. "—something happen?"

Kurama looked fine to him. Maybe the window's silly clicking had woken him. No doubt he had shifted against it.

Kurama thought for a moment, trying to figure way to phrase the answer without taking forever.

"Yes, but nothing... bad, necessarily. First, Night came in her and we talked, then she fell asleep, only to be woken up not a second later by Kasai, who seemed furious that she had left the kitchen a mess. Night jumped when she woke up, and since the mouse was on her head..." he trailed off, allowing his speech to register, and letting him guess the rest.

He was fairly sure the other would have questions, so he patiently waited to answer them.

"I'm guessing you gained nothing from the brat," Hiei said, laying his arm across his middle. His eyes closed again, eyelashes making shadows on his cheeks. "The next time a mouse wakes me up..."

Now it was his turn to trail off. He was actually more tired than he'd thought himself to be. Not wanting the window to make noise, he propped a foot up against the other side of the sill in an attempt to make it so he would not lean on the frame. His expression relaxed again, even as the pillow supporting his back slipped and he slumped again.

The mouse comment gained a small smile from the fox.

"You know, Hiei, it would be more comfortable if you slept in the bed," he said softly, trying to convince him to move. There was no way the windowsill was a pleasant place to sleep, even with the pillow. And the lock was noisy.

Kurama also knew there was no changing his mind, but wishful thinking wasn't a crime. His expectation was to be teased, but he didn't mind that. Who knew, though, the demon had surprised him more than once.

"Hn," Hiei managed, his eyes barely opening this time."If it'll shut you up and allow me more sleep..."

Though he had already sunk back into sleep, before he could even force himself to get up and move to the bed. Click.

Kurama's spirits rose for a second... only the Koorime fell asleep before he moved. He gave up. He just entirely gave up.

Click.

Then he lost it. The fox stood, went to the window, and ever so carefully lifted Hiei and placed him on the bed. The movement was effortless and gentle, so it was doubtful that he would wake.

After laying beside him, the kitsune took a moment to simply stare at him. The demon's breathing calmed more, and his expression gave the overall feel of peacefulness. Perfect.

((*sings the out of character song* xD))

When Kurama set him down on the bed, a low sigh—almost a moan escaped from the koorime's lips. His body had never been so comfortable before, and he was actually able to nap weightlessly. His arm had been draped over his middle and moved down slightly, his fingers twitching against the fabric, and against the red locks of the fox that rested on the bed with them.

(( xD;; ))

His ears drank in the soft sound, rather liking it. To know that the other was content was... a good feeling, if you wanted to understate. He did care about the fire demon and his well-being more than anything.

The repetitive movement of his fingers lulled the fox, almost to sleep, but with some effort he managed to stay awake.
