"It belongs to my family. I took it before leaving." Kai said, glancing up at the sky. Although he secretly kept his guard up, it was nice actually talking to some one in the new enviorment. "My family is a powerfull mage family. We're humans, but our ancestry can be traced back to the dragons. Thats why the arcane energies flow strong through our blood. But its not exactly like I fit in with them. I was born magically stunted. I still have the energies, but they're trapped away in my body. So yeah. Im kind of the freak of the family."

Kai thought a moment. Many people came to the school because they where different. Many pursecuted because thier powers. Kai came here to escape pursecution from nearly the opposite. "But its alright. I have a way of cheating that magic inability." He said calmly. Though his eyes still showed the normal expression, as they reflected the clouds.

Alisa sat down on the fountain, folding her legs together.
"It's alright," she said neutraly, "I'm the freak of my family too. My mom's side's mortal humans, my dad's pure-blood vamps, throw me in the mix..." she stopped herself, "And I don't belong" she summed up the long pity-me story crap to just that. She didn't like people to pitty her or spill her guts and her guess was he didn't either. She ate her last cracker and made a mental note to get more later.

She decided it would probably be best not to ask anymore questions, but in a way she's kind of like a kid with that stuff; always wanting to know more, never really knowing just when to shut up (actually shes perfectly aware of when, it's just the doing part she has a problem with). So she questioned again in his equally calm tone, "So how'd you find a way of cheating magic?"

"Simple. I made a pact with an elemental spirit. He can channel his element to be used at my will, as well as my personal element." Kai summed up. "So that allows me to freely use ice, and darkness. Its not Arcane magic, but it gets the job done."
Get ready. You have company coming towards you. Mentioned Yuri's voice circulated in his head. Kai glanced up, pearing at the elvish girl coming towards him. He slightly hid his hilt behind his leg.
Hm... Who would have thought I would see a real elf here. He thought back.

Kai raised an eye brow at the strange creature at his feet. "Uh..." He said, unsure of what to say. What in the world is that thing? He asked Yuri in his head.
"You idiot mortal. That is a wyvern. And be carefull around it. Most breeds are highly poisonous."
Kai twitched slightly, tightening the grip on his hit just in case.
Idiot... I didnt mean that careful.

Kai looked back at the elf, with his face still cautious. The expression was replaced with curiousity, as he raised his shoulders from defensive stance. "Huh?" He asked, snapping back into reality. "Hey, if the wyvarn didnt bite me or anything, Im alright. No need to appoligize." He said. Though his voice was straight forward and a little loud, it seamed more nervous than anything.
Its pernounced "Wyvern"...
Well, if your so good at this, then why dont you talk to her!
Fine...

Kai bowed his head slightly, then looked up with a much different expression in his face. An experienced serious expression. "My appoligies lady elf." He said. Though it was through Kai's vocal chords, the voice was more mature and calm.

Aly blinked at the shift of expression. Holding out her arms she called Fiaura to her, who twined around her arms. She nodded at him in acceptance of the apology. That might have been the end of it, except the voice of the Elder flashed in her mind.

You need more than the animals.

"I'm Aly." She said akwardly, not used to making conversation.

"My name is Bast"

Before Yuri could introduce Kai for him, his arm raised with his fist tightened, then came hard down onto his stomach.

Dont EVER introduce me by that name!

Back to his normal expression, Kai looked back up awkwardly. "My name is Kai..." He said slowly, catching his breath. "And the person speaking through me was an elemental dragon of ice... Yuri."

Aly raised an eyebrow at his behavior. She bowed "And greeting to you Yuri." She said in the proper respect that befits such a creature. Then she spoke to Kai. "Are you truly a human? I have never seen one before." She said, curiosity in her tone.
