Name: Kayoe (No known last name)
Age: 32 (Biologically is 24)
Race: Half-elf
Curse: Wrath, when Kayoe get angry, even a little, that anger is multiplied greatly then released in the form of violence toward the cause of the anger. This curse gives him no additional power, not even a blindness to pain that would be normal in a berserk state. The worst part is that Kayoe enjoys how he expresses his anger while he is doing it, but due to his personality regrets it afterward. Also Kayoe can only control his curse by not getting angry, once he does he has no way to stop it. He has found that he can best keep himself from getting angry by keeping himself from feeling anything.
Weapon(s): A Mithril Katana, left to him by his late master. A Bow and arrow, simple spells, as well as his specialty spell, the Spell of 1000 Blades.
Appearance: A man of 5 feet in 10 inches, he is not very muscular but he is in very good shape. He has shoulder length light brown hair that he pulls back onto a masculine ponytail. His sea green eyes betray his Elvin heritage much more then the slight point his ears come to.
History: When he was a baby Kayoe was placed in the care of Merinas de Ku the master of the Angona style of combat, it was the evolved form of one of the most feared styles of swordsmanship in history. While the style kept most, if not all, of the training methods of it’s ancestral style it held a belief that swordsmanship could be perfected. Meaning at the point of perfection, the art of the blade would take the student no further, as such they also began to teach magic and ranged combat as well. It fit under no existing category so the school was reclassified as one of combat rather then any category in particular. With one of the (if not the) most deadly styles of swordsmanship at its core and it’s newfound skills to add to it Angona became feared by all who studied any form of combat. However for fear that the schools power would be used for evil, the school only took a select few in as disciples. And only one of these, the one who was chosen to become the heir to the school, was taught it’s legendary spell, the Spell of 1000 Blades. The spell would literally summon 1000 blades of all sizes and types that could fly though the air with great speed to surround almost any number of targets, then converges on the target(s), phasing through the other blades if need be.

Kayoe was trained in this style from the day he could walk, and was later joined by an elf girl a few years younger then he by the name of Zera. All the two knew about their parents was that they came from different families, but both families were good friends of Merinas and both had to leave their babies in her care because they were both on the run from separate entities and could not ensure their babies’ safety if they kept them with them on the run. The children lived a happy life, even if they did have an awkward relationship (falling into the roles of Bother/sister, rivals, and childhood friends who secretly like each other). When Kayoe was 14 Merinas took him aside and taught him the school’s most important spell, saying “You may need it one day.”

As Kayoe listened too what the spell meant he felt a swell of pride, he had been chosen to become the new master of the school, that idea reasonably inflated the ego of the 14 year old. No sooner then three days later was the home/dojo of Merinas attacked by a group assassins. Merinas told her students to flee but Kayoe refused claiming that as the next master of the school he had a right to defend the dojo. While Kayoe had reached the limits of what his master could teach him he had yet to begin to better himself through his own efforts and his skills were not up to par. Unable to defend both herself and her student, Merinas lost her life blocking an otherwise dodgeable spell from a mage in the group of assassins that was aimed at Kayoe. Kayoe’s grief turned to fury in a instant as he recklessly charged at the assassins, his fury only dulled his skills and he was about to lose the life his master had saved when he unleashed the Spell of 1000 Blades. Unprepared for the legendary spell from a kid all but the mage were killed instantly. Kayoe smiled as he approached the dieing mage, his eyes glowing with the blood lust to finish the job. Clinging to life the mage, looked back at Kayoe.
“I’m sure your master would love to have seen you unleash such wrath upon us. I’ll give you a gift, let the wrath you showed just now be with you always, and let you enjoy it just as you are now.” A ray of light shot from the mage’s hand piercing Kayoe’s heart. The power of the curse drained the last of the mage’s life energy, denying Kayoe the satisfaction of killing him.

Kayoe felt responsible for the death of his master, after a reading of her will which left Kayoe her Mithril Katana and the dojo itself, both symbols that finalized him as the new master of the school, he left one of the older students in charge, and went on a journey that he said was for
“Both soul-searching and to become stronger, two things I must do before I can truly take over this school.” On this journey he discovered his curse, as well as sharpened his skills. He feels he can not take over the school with out honor, something his curse refuses to let him have in victory. He sees over coming his curse as a step he must take before he can advance any further in his quest to become the true master of the Angona style of combat. Zera tracks Kayoe down from time to time to give him the latest news about the dojo, including the fact that she has taken up the temporary teaching position until he is ready to return.
(Yes that was long and clichéd, I’m sorry but Kayoe is a character I’ve been using variations of forever, so I needed to tell you his whole past clichés and all)
Strengths: His speed and agility, his sword moves faster then most eyes can fallow, and he is quite good at running and jumping. He is just so-so with his bow. Aside from the Spell of 1000 Blades, his magic is nothing impressive.
Weaknesses: When Kayoe is feeling anything, it’s normally depression. He regrets almost all of what he has done because of his curse, despite having no real control over his actions when it is in affect. He also still blames himself for the death of Merinas, something he has yet to come to terms with. This makes him not a very fun person to be around.
Also as he has a need to move quickly, he wears no armor, unless it can’t penetrate fabric he has to block or dodge all attacks that come his way because he is unprotected. In addition some people don’t like the idea that human and elf blood has mixed and thereby hate the “half-breed”
Quirks: For those of you who have read (or seen) the Lord of the Rings you know that even had the sword not been left to him by Merinas, the Mithril it was made out of would be very valuable. As such Kayoe is paranoid when it comes to his sword. He has become a very light sleeper and always sleeps with a death grip on it. He also (when not angry) tries to be totally honorable, however his view of honor does not nessicaraly agree with what society sees as honorable.

Kayoe had fallowed the light all the way to the manor, the whole trip there he had yet to once take his hand off his katana. He had encountered this type of summoning spell before and as such, he would have been immune to it’s effects. However Kayoe wanted to know why someone would want to summon him. The possibility it was a trap had not left his mind from the moment he recognized the spell, but the question of who would want to trap him intrigued him just as much, if not more, as who would want to summon him for any other reason.

The outside of the manor seemed safe as Kayoe saw no one outside, the manor had been quite a distance from where he was and he had to admit to himself that he was tired from the journey. If this is a trap, he thought they are doing a very good job so far... with this thought in mind he approached the manor. Deciding that if it was a trap his unknown foe would know he was coming, he had nothing to lose by making himself known, and at the same time would avoid conflict if it was not a trap. With his left hand (still keeping his right on his katana) Kayoe knocked on the door.

Kayoe noticed two things from his hostess’ attitude, the first being that she wasn’t expecting him in particular (but was expecting somebody) and seemed to have as much knowledge about him as he did her. The second is how at ease she seemed with the situation, she was either very comfortable around things like summoning, he was one of the later ones to get here in a group of summons. His hostess did not seem to hold any hostile intentions against him and unless she displayed some, Kayoe was her guest and must act as such. He let his hand drop from his katana as he took her invitation to come inside.
“It was no trouble,” Kayoe replied to Isarelle in an almost emotionless voice, “however, I would like to know why you summoned me.”
Kayoe paused for a second.
"Oh! how rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself, My name is Kayoe."

Isarelle gave a small curtsy to Kayoe and said, “Pleasure, I’m Isarelle. You have been summoned because I need your help. I am going to be embarking on a journey soon enough, with others like me. You are like me. We are the cursed in the world with no refuge or solution. Except one. The Teltayten is the crystal of power that can rid us of these curses. We are going to be questing for this crystal to restore us to normal . . . will you help us?”

“I don’t suppose you could have chucked anything else into that explanation, could you?” Garren sighed. Isarelle cringed and kept her mouth shut.

“Shut up, Garren!”
