"The police?!" Marc opened the door, startled. "I've just called you ho--" he stopped, mind registering the fact that police men didn't look this good (although hey... there was something he could persuade Hadrian to dress up as) and that Hadrian... well, he wouldn't do as a police man.

All those convicts would try to molest him all the time.

Then his eyes swung down to Haki, and Gavin, and while there was relief mixed in there somewhere, he was furious.

"Where the HELL have you been, young lady?" he asked, furious to see that she was perfectly fine. Wait. That sounded wrong. "Do you know how worried I was to find a broken vase and your bed empty? I thought someone had come to kidnap you!"

But he moved back to let them in and swung his daughter up, nuzzling her neck.

Haki laughed, delighted at all this emotion an adventure could cause. "I missed you daddy." she said sweetly, and he gave him.

"Come in. Gavin." he said, nodding, frowning. "What are you doing with them anyways?" he asked, watching Hadrian.

"Apparently, Remi went to wake up Gavin this morning and found Haki there as well. I said I'd watch the two of them, so she could have a few hours to herself."

Hadrian leaned against the wall, practically feeling himself melt at the gooey way Marc was acting with Haki. It was...sweet. And very cute.

And now, Hadrian wouldn't do as well as a police officer. Something about his naivety and innocence...he'd probably get himself killed.

Or molested, as Marc seemed so worried about.

Gavin watched as Haki was literally swept off her feet and into her daddy's arms. Where was his Mommy so that he could get someone to do that?! He was feeling ignored, and Gavin never liked to feel ignored. Hoping maybe someone would pick him up, he held up his arms in the universal toddler sign language that said, Hold me.

"Hay-dren said food here," he said, his stomach adding its own sounds for dramatic effect. His arms were still up in the air.

The little boy was feeling ignored and hungry. Never a good mix.

"Haki." he said, exasperated and a little bit annoyed. Maybe he should take off the voice activation to the door. He had thought it would help Haki come and go... but it seemed to be working too well.

"We're going to have to talk about this habit of disappearing in the middle of the night, okay? It's not good... for me." with that, he grinned at Hadrian. "Thank you for bringing them back, officer." he said, amused, arching a brow. Policeman fetish!

At Gavin's sign, he nodded. Hadrian would pick him up. That man was a sucker for cute kids (and Marc), and he didn't have enough hands to do it all. "I have food." he said. "Spanish omlette. I'll heat it up."

That was the norm, here. And he said outloud.

"Why didn't Remi come?"

Blinking at the word 'officer, Hadrian completely missed what Marc was suggesting. He'd probably get it when explained to him later, but at the moment - he was just oblivious.

"Wait - you've called the police already?"

Did that mean police would be showing up? Ah. Well, he supposed they'd just have to apologize, since Haki had already been found...

"Oh, and I think Remi was trying to avoid you, actually," Some amusement entered his voice at this, remembering why she was trying to avoid Marc. And glancing down at Gavin, Marc was proved right - because Hadrian did pick him up.

"We'll get you some food, soon."

Now that's better. Haki's daddy was going to make food, and Hadrian was holding him now. Gavin looked over at Haki with a look that said, "See! I can manipulate big people too!"

In a totally not competitive way of course. In Gavin's head, he'd just developed one more talent. He'd have to try it on his own Mommy soon. Making people do things for him was always fun. Plus that meant less things for him to do. Maybe this whole dominating thing of Haki's wasn't that bad of an idea.

"What's an omlit?" Gavin blinked. It sounded like food, but he could never be sure.

Hadrian smiled. "No police men here." he said, slowly. 'I hung up on them. BUT" he arched a brow. "I'm sure I can get the uniform from someone. If you want to... dress up?" the words were tame, especially with Haki in his arms as he walked over to the kitchen. Holding onto her the entire time as he pulled out the ready made omlette batter/mix from the fridge, he smiled.

"It's eggs." he said, answering short form. What else as he supposed to say? "With different stuff in it." he nodded. He could communicate with children too, really!

Haki mistook the look for competition, and she frowned. Competition? Well, of course the ruler of the world was going to win first, but. Concerned that she might have to do some body damage to her hero, she shrugged.

Well, she'd figure that out after breakfast.

Staring with incomprehension at Marc, it took a moment before he caught the hint - and promptly felt color rush to his face. Even with as tame as the words are, the images that they evoked in Hadrian's mind certainly were not!

And he likely would have made a comment then, if it hadn't been for impressionable young ears in the room.

Following into the kitchen, he set Gavin down on the chair in there. He completely missed the interchange between the two toddlers, more focused on Marc then them.

But he added an aside to Gavin, to reassure him, "You'll like omelette's."

He hoped.

"Eggs?" Gavin asked. Remi had never cooked eggs before. Considering Gavin was part bird, she never really could look at them the same way, nevermind eat them. Therefore, she never cooked them, making this yet another tasty experience for Gavin. He didn't mind.

Wait, wait, wait. How come Haki still got to be held?! Well, apparently she was much better at her craft than he was.

So, he just waited for food instead.

Haki beamed. Marc hadn't given up first! So she urged him to let her down too-- since she had won this round. Complying, he sat her down on the table itself, and Haki scooted over so that she was in front of Gavin.

"Egg okay." she judged. Not as good as some other stuff she snuck into her breakfast. And it didn't taste very good with sugar either. But still, it was food.

Heating up the frying pan and going through the motions of preparing breakfast, he nodded. "What would you like to drink, Gavin?" he asked, turning his head to smile.

If Hadrian had been aware of the competition between the two, Hadrian probably would have felt amused. Or worried, that they were already competing for affection...or just competing in general.

While Marc prepared the food and got drinks for the toddlers, Hadrian peered at the coffee machine.

"Is that coffee in there, or do I need to make some? Oh...and do you have any medicine for headaches?"

His hangover wasn't bothering him too much by this point, but it was still there. And that reminded him...he felt the odd urge to tell Marc about the night. Though it was probably more embaressing then anything else.

He just really hoped that Dacian had broken that camera.

"Milk!" Gavin chirped, throwing his arms up in the air. Finally! Attention. Knowing that someone recognizes you exist hidden between a chair and a table's edge is a wonderful thing.

Looking up he saw Haki peering down at him. Hey, he wanted up there too. Standing up in his chair, he pulled himself onto the table so that he was eye to eye with Haki.

"What's egg?"

He'd have to learn sometime, though luckily he wasn't a chicken.

Marc paused, tilting his head. "Headache? As in ... you're sick or..." the pause deepened, gaining meaning. "a hang over?" he grinned, delighted that maybe his Hadrian had been getting busy yesterday!

And then the grin fell. Wait. It depended on what he was getting busy with. Never mind. He didn't like the thought after all.

"Milk it is" he said, moving over to the fridge and pulling out a carton as well as a bottle of grape juice. He nodded. "Coffee's been made. Pour yourself a cup." he smiled, still curious as he carried the two bottles over with two cups.

"Egg is..." he paused, remembering. He couldn't say 'from birds', could he? "From chicken."

Haki nodded, pausing when Gavin pulled himself up. Tilting her head because he was OH MY GOD SO CLOSE! She placed two hands on his shoudlers and leaned forewords until their foreheads touched.

"Hangover," his rueful look towards Marc showed that it wouldn't be anything for the other man to be worried about - otherwise he would be nervous, after all.

"It involved Natalie, Dacian, and far too much alcohol. I'll tell you more about it later."

Because he wasn't talking about him crossdressing in a 'sexy' flapper costume in front of toddlers. Hell, he might avoid any mention of that specific thing altogether.

He poured himself some coffee, then.

Gavin would have asked what a chicken was, but Haki was getting into his personal space. They had bathed together, slept together, but never had they touched foreheads together. He blinked. Had he been quite a bit older, this would have called for a blush. Fortunately, he could barely pronounce the word 'hormones,' much less know what they are. So instead, he smiled.

"Haki have pwetty eyes."

For added measure, and not having a clue what to do next, he put his hands on Haki's shoulders. Was this a game of some sort?
