At the noise, he laughed. It was a light noise, nothing too loud but with enough of an echo in the chest. "We're here, Natalie." he said, his voice drawling out the words in amusement. "Do you have a key, an access code?"

He arched a brow. "Something hidden underneath the mat, perhaps?" he teased.

Something in her jumped and twisted at his laughter - she had done that?

"Actually, it's unlocked right now." She looked up at him, smiling sheepishly. "Anything worth stealing - and there's not much - is buried in boxes. I haven't unpacked much."

Looking thoughtful, she put a finger to her lips. "But I think I was given a key. I should probably find that."

Thorn shifted her weight so that more of it was on the hand balanced at his shoulder. He tugged open the door with the hand below her thigh, and pushed it open. For a moment, he stood there, and arched a brow.

Well, would he carry her in, or drop her off at the door? He waited for her to make the decision.

"You should." he agreed. "And give a copy to someone for safe keeping."

"Will do. It'd be easier, of course, if somebody else lived in this building. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one here..."

She squirmed out of his arms, holding her shoes in one hand. When her socked feet touched the ground, she had to straighten out her skirt - part of it had gotten hiked up quite a bit.

Finished with that, she looked up at him, smiling. "Thank you. Again. I know I keep saying that... but... yeah." A nervous laugh. "And, ah.... I..." Part of her wanted to say something. She wasn't sure what it was, but she knew the basic gist. And the small part of her that was still awake and logic-driven told her to keep her mouth shut.

What she was feeling at the moment was not love. Definitely not. In fact, it was probably all desperation. She didn't want to be abandoned. Not after everything that had happened.

But that was silly, wasn't it? Abandoned? He was just dropping her off for the night!

"... nevermind," she murmured, ducking her head and blushing.

Thorn smiled. "You can give one to me, then." he said, stating the words simply as she slipped out of his arms. He had grown used to keeping them in that position, and it was odd, dropping them down and standing there. Still, when she fluttered over her words, his smile deepened.

"Natalie." he said, reaching out with one hand gently to touch the side of her jaw. She was adorable, wasn't she? And while part of him knew it was a backlash with the actor, Michael, part of him didn't care. He wanted to take advantage of her, twist her up and lift her bleeding until she couldn't imagine a life without him.

Ah. That sounded fun.

Tilting it up gently so that they were eye to eye but not moving his hand, his eyes narrowed in the corners with amusement.

"Good night."

((kiss! XD ))

Natalie was about to respond when Thorn touched her face, tipped her chin up. Her eyes went wide and her mouth hung partially open, unsure of what to say or do.

Well, yes, this is what part of her wanted. And now Michael wasn't a factor. She was technically single again.

But... so soon?

She stayed frozen where she was, looking a bit like a deer in the headlights, blushing and staring into Thorn's eyes.

When she didn't move away or murmur complains, the hand shifted so that it was cupping her face more than resting on her jaw. He leaned forewords, and delicately, delicately, he kissed her lips.

It wasn't formal, or cold or polite, but neither was it the heated passion that should have unfurled. It was a weight of lips, a taste really, of what both had to offer.

And a sly, sly dash of tongue.

Because while it wasn't appropriate, there was nothing to complain about. Not really. He was hardly taking advantage of a young girl if the kiss was so chaste. Hand lightly stroking her cheek with long fingers and lips tasting lips, he smiled.

"Good night." he responded, and nodded, straightening.

And left.

Natalie stared after him, unmoving, for a long time. Then she reached up to touch her lips in wonderment. Had that... had he actually...?

"Good night..." she murmured, though it was minutes too late. And then, forcing herself to move, confused and heady and tired and elated, she wandered back into her apartment, closing the door.

All she wanted now was a shower, some sleep, and to see the next, new day.

Maybe things weren't as bad as she thought.
