Neji gave a fake, bitter laugh. "Kids like them shouldn't be ninja, Iruka-Sensei. You might as we-" He was cut off by Iruka though.
"Neji, you of all people should know better, being the oldest. This isn't even your seat!" Iruka sure sounded mad.
"Well if they had watched who they were talking to maybe th-" Again, he was cut off.
"I need to go make sure Sasuke is alright, um...Tenten watch the class." He walked out of the room calmly, not even sparing Neji a small smile of forgivness.

Ino had already entered the classroom and sat next to a few other girl's that she knew. She saw the whole scene. Neji almost being kissed by Kiba.. Tenten saving the little bit of their dignity's.. Neji edging Sasuke-kun on, [Which was all too tempting to butt in] and Sasuke and Sakura both leaving the classroom! Two of their top students actually left.
Sighing exaggeratly, she closed her eyes and waited for Iruka-Sensei to start their lesson.. whenever he got back. "Sakura won't get Sasuke-kun..." She thought, and opened her eyes. "I won't let her."

Sakura ran after him, halting when she saw that he had stopped in the courtyard. She placed her hand against the door-frame, attempting to catch her breath. She opened her mouth to call out to him, but he was already on the move.
She began to pursue him again, flinching a little when she saw him kick the gates. "He's.. really mad.." Her walking came to a stop, and she contemplated going after him. "Maybe I should.. just leave him alone.." She wiped away a few remaining tears. "But.. I'm his.. best friend, right?"
Nodding firmly to herself, she started to quickly trail after the boy once more. "Sasuke-kun!"

Iruka wasn't too far behind Sakura, yet. "Sakura, go back to class I'll get Sasuke!" He called out, hoping to catch at least one of the two before both were to far away.
Neji crossed his arms, looking as if he was sulking from the way Iruka had treated him. Lifting his head up he glared at the class until his gaze lock firm on Ino. "Too easy..." He muttered to himself.

Sasuke stopped when he heard his name being called. He hesisated again. Should he wait for her? Or maybe she was upset with him for not standing up for her better?
He turned around, intending to wait on Sakura. However, his eyes narrowed when he saw Iruka coming from the school building.
In an instant he was by her side. He grabbed her hand, and looked back at Iruka. As quickly as he possibly could, he pulled Sakura down the road, and into a series of alleyways. He knew that anyone could lost anyone of he knew his way around the maze of streets.
Sasuke knew the alleys like the back of his hand...almost.
So with Sakura's hand tightly in his grab, he led her through the maze of streets until he could no longer sense Iruka's presence. After all, would Iruka leave a class to itself for just two students? Not likely.
When Sasuke was sure they were safe, he slowed to a stop and let go of Sakura's hand.
He looked at her, and it was easy to see that he was still upset.
"You know that you're skipping out right now, right? You're going to get in trouble along with me."

Iruka sighed. "I'll just need to find a Jonin or two to find them...." He began walking back towards the school, hoping to see one on the way.

She had obediently stopped when Iruka called out to her, but was a bit disappointed to hear his order. She was so tempted to ignore him and continued running.. but disobeying her sensei? She was becoming quite the bad girl..
Just when she was about to ignore his request to return to the classroom to continue her chase for Sasuke, said person was by her side and grabbing her hand. She gave a small squeak in shock, but wasn't about to protest.
She kept in stride with him, though with a little bit of difficulty. He was fast..
When they came to a slow stop and she found her hand released, she subconsciously rubbed her wrist, and looked up to meet his eyes. The look on his face.. she didn't like it. She liked to see him smile, and laugh.. the expression he currently held made her think Sasuke was a completely different person.
She swallowed before responding. "I.. I don't care. I wanted to.. to see if you were.. okay." Her gaze lowered to the ground.

Sasuke leaned himself next to the wall, and sat down on the ground against it. He nodded to answer Sakura's question. He knew that she was probably worried about him, and that thought alone made his mood lighten up a bit.
He took a deep breath to calm himself down, and looked up and smiled at Sakura the best he could at the moment.
"You shouldn't worry about me. Neji's a jerk...I shouldn't have gotten so angry...Sakura? Are YOU okay?" he asked with concern in his voice, referring to the nasty comments Neji had made about her.

Sakura frowned a bit when he told her she shouldn't worry about him. Who was he kidding? They were friends now; she would always worry about him, and there was nothing anyone could say to change that.
But she was glad to see him smiling again.
She brought herself down to his level, hugging her knees close to her. "I'm fine," she replied, managing an honest smile. It was nice to know he cared enough to ask. "I'm used to those types of comments by now.." She gave a weak laugh. "Stupid, pathetic.. annoying.."

Sasuke was glad to hear that she was okay, but the boy's face scrunched a bit when heheard the next bit.
"No, that's stupid! Whoever says that needs to get their head checked," he muttered with a pout.
"You're the smartest person in the class, so you're not stupid. You put up with all of the REAL stupid people in this world, so you're not pathetic. And last of all, you're fun and nice, so you're not annoying either, see?"

Her face lit up immediately when she found out that he didn't think she was annoying. "You.. you don't think I'm annoying, Sasuke-kun!?" She gave a small squeal before placing her hand over her mouth.
Her mood sort of deflated then, and she turned her head, lowering her hand.
"Are you.." she started, but stopped. Her brows furrowed together as she tried to think of the right way to ask what was on her mind at the present moment. "What if he thinks I'm weird, and doesn't want to talk to me anymore?" Well.. it was worth a shot.
"Would you be ashamed.. if I was your girlfriend?"

Sasuke chuckled softly at her reaction when he had told her that she wasn't annoying. He was a little bit confused because of the fact that he couldn't see how she was annoying, but to see her smile was...well...cute!
His eyebrows raised a bit as she suddenly began to look saddened. Was she really okay?
He leaned foreward a bit when she hesitated at her question. He didn't want her to be upset, and so he listened very carefully.
To put it simply, Sasuke was not expecting such a question. It was a...weird...question, and he didn't know exactly how he should answer. He was worried that if he said yes, she'd get hurt. However, if he said no (which was the actual answer), she might get the wrong idea.
It took him a minute to find the right words and fit them together, but eventually he looked up to the sky and smiled.
"No. I don't think that I'd be ashamed because Sakura's a really good person, and she's my best friend. But to become strong like nii-san, I need to train hard and a girlfriend might get in the way. See, you should work hard and get strong too! I think a boy would like a strong girl because then he wouldn't have to worry about her that much."
His grin was wide, as he was sure that he said nothing (hopefully) that could hurt her feeling, and at the same time, maybe he was able to give her insight on making herself stronger, so she wouldn't feel like she was annoying or pathetic.

She poked her two index fingers together as she awaited his answer, a trait she had seen the Hyuuga girl do once or twice. It was mostly because she was so nervous. Why wasn't he answering her?
When he began speaking, she returned her gaze to him, and smiled.
He wouldn't be ashamed.. that was all she needed to know. She had no siblings, so she didn't quite understand how strong a bond he had with his brother, but she understood perfectly. They could just be friends now.. and maybe when they were older, when she was stronger..
"Then I'll become strong," she replied, her smile having grown a little. "And I'll wait.. until you're ready."

Sasuke nodded at her answer. He was glad that she wanted to get stronger. No doubt she would become a great kunichi one day; he was proud of her.
"Let's go somewhere else," he stated. "Iruka-sensei has to be back at the Academy by now."
He stood up and dusted off his shorts. With a smile, he held out his hand to the pink-haired girl, to help her up.
"We'll get strong and become the best ninjas in Konoha, together!"
