We'll I don't like Dir en Grey's new image. I completely dislike the Withering to Deaths CD. However, I still want to be like Toshiya as far as the way he plays the bass... and Shinya is still adorable.
Oh, and has anyone seen the other version of mazohyst of decadence that is on the Average Psycho DVD? I saw it and I thought it was okay. My friend that introduced me to Dir en Grey said that she almost vomitted. xd

Safe to say I'm not fond of their new look either... but I thought Withering to Death was actually pretty good, though I still prefer their Gauze and Macabre style.
I miss their visualness. T-T

Diru doesn't consider themselves a visual band anymore. The new image isn't TOO bad, just a lot more mild than we're used to. I don't agree with Shinya's cornrows, though, but they did look pretty good in the PV for The Final.

Withering to Death was great, but it's certaintly not their best. Same goes image-wise. Though, Kyo did impress me with his originality. It's just Toshiya's hair and Kaoru's chin-pubes that scare me. Otherwise, I think I can survive. >.<

I haven't seen THAT picture! *finds picture* Kaoru, what are you thinking? Argh! *reminds self that she liked Diru for their sound before she ever saw their faces.
Back to normality... It seems to me that Diru's music was just getting darker and darker. I wondered how far they could fall without crashing. Withering seemed a bit lighter. It sounded like they were getting back to their roots a bit. (After all, La:Sadies sounded a whole lot like X.)

About Mazohyst of Decadence... I haven't seen the PV you speak of, but the song actually IS about an abortion, so I guess it fits. :S

I actually saw the Mazohyst of Decadence PV, got bored, and switched to the next one. I just wasn't fascinated with the tiny squares and people's faces/ scenery, so I must have stopped before it got gross.
In looking at their website, there's definately been a change. They have a really different aura without the visual-ness, but the band must evolve if they are to stay in existance. They've lost a lot of pain that they used to hold, and that's good, because a person can only take so much before they self-destruct. As for Kaoru, he'll change if the fans hate it enough. (Remember Hiro's haircut, after all?) Dir en grey will stay true to the music in their hearts. It is up to us to stay true to them, as long as we both still stand for the same message.

I highly doubt I can dislike Diru's music enough in the future to stop listening, given that a lot of the lyrics I can relate to. Plus, I still sometimes grab an old rap cd I bought in middle school to listen to, if I can tolerate that Dir en Grey will be no problem. But I wish they'd come out with a song maybe somewhat like Berry again, and definetly I want to hear something with the same effect as Ain't Afraid to Die.

Oh, and look at Brokenlink.deviantart.com. she has comic strips of Diru, and I think you'll all like the 2 she made regarding Kaoru and his chin-pubes. 3nodding
