Yay Malaquel! your here, and no u didnt tell me that about your mum sounds interesting and makes me wonder more.. smile i would try to do the day dreamy state but i've never been able to achieve it before sad
i'll look into it some more tho.. and I'm talking to you about it now on yahoo wink
Hi Kaydell, wow that sounds very interesting, its kind of the same with me i feel a kinship towards them but now its starting to worry me that their trying to tell me something... but with what happened with the chant seems fantastic, did heaps of them come or just about 5 or 10? and could i ask did you say the chant out loud or in your head?

It was more like a talking...just like I would to someone else. At first there were two, and then a few more and by the time I walked away, I could count at least six. I feel like that sometimes too, an urgency as if there is something I should know.

I have a connection to a few animals, and I'm not sure which - if any - is my Spirit Guide. I'm going to do the dream thing tonight, and I'm about to read that website that someone linked a page ago.
There are the animals I feel connected to:
Cats
Wolves
Dragons
Sparrows
Foxes
Mice
Umm...dunno if this counts - Gargoyles? ^^;; Srsly.
Oh yes, and otters.

hopeless.x.romantic I have a connection to a few animals, and I'm not sure which - if any - is my Spirit Guide. I'm going to do the dream thing tonight, and I'm about to read that website that someone linked a page ago. Well, it has been said that we have 9 animal totems... one for each direction (above, in front, behind, etc). So it's very possible that all of those are your animal totems. And usually if you feel a connection to a certain animal, or if you certain favorite animals, then those are most likely all/some of your animal totems. When I read that we supposedly have 9 animal totems, I was sitting in my room thinking about what the others could be, because I already knew some of them from the dream spell. I love animals, so naturally I have tons of animal pictures in my room. And then I realized that the animals I dreamed about were in the pictures. So, I counted the different animals in the pictures I have... there was exactly 9. The wolf, dragon, giant panda bear, tiger, lion, unicorn, jaguar, dolphin, and my dog Pepper (who occured in my animal totem dreams the most). And out of my dreams, I remember seeing a dragon, a wolf, a tiger, a lion, and my dog Pepper (I don't usually remember my dreams too well).

The 9 animal totem idea figures heavily in Native American culture. It's kind of interesting to compare and contrast the different belief systems there are. Most have some form of the animal totem/guide.

Well, for...*checks calendar* 4 nights now I have tried the dream thing, but no luck yet. I'm wondering if I should re-write the spell, or somehow renew it, but I suppose I should just be patient.

I'm pretty sure at least one of my spirit guides is a turtle. I've always loved them and really connected to them. If I have any others, they have not made themselves known yet.

Demona: It can take a lot of time. By the time I was 5 years old, horse and bear had shown up. About 10 years later, dragon popped in. My other guardians showed up within the 12 years after dragon. The reason maybe as simple as I started to pay more attention to everything as I got older. Or it could be the fact that I wasn't ready until recently. Don't lose hope that they will come. They will come; however, they come in their own time.

Tazzy Wolfstar My spirit guide is a grey wolf and I also have spirit bird a peregrine falcon. I see falcons all over the place on my way home from work. I have always had an affinity with wolves. I dream about them, they talk to me in my dreams, but the small grey one is always with me. I can feel her walking with me and helping me to ease my tension when I am upset or angry. This happened to me on yesterday. I had a dream and in it there was this falcon...something was happening in my school in that dream, something bad..people were looking for me I think...The falcon flew upto the window and told me to climb on. He was big...I think there were two at first but then the other-she- one just left. Now I'm afraid of heights...absolutely and while we flew I looked down and could see a big blue body of water below..clouds...just an arial view.. but when I was about to fall he told me that as long as I kept holding on, I wouldn't fall. Three times we had to go back because there were others to rescue...two men and a girl...and each time I flew along with him. On the last time, he got shot by the people after us...twice... he flew down...the girl was scared but I told her to keep holding on...as long as we held on to him we didn't fall. And then we landed...they all ran away but I stayed...he died. He shrank and shrank until he was so small. I just started weeping in the dream and woke up crying...it was as if I lost someone so dear to me...someone I just found only to lose again. I wasn't sure what kind of bird he was. I knew he was a raptor...he had golden brown feathers... So i began searching on line and pulling up pictures of random raptors. Then I pulled up peregrine Falcon and saw the image and started weeping again. I tell myself he's not really dead...he'll comeback...he just has to.I haven't felt this miserable in a long time. I don't know what he is...to me...but I wish with all my heart that he comes back.

Falcon could be an animal totem. Then again, he could just be the messenger. Just be on the lookout for more hints and clues as to whether or not falcon is one of your animal totems or not.

I think mine is a bear. When I did my dedication to Artemis (my patron Goddess), I had a dream about a bear. Turns out that bears are one of the animals associated with the Artemis archetype. Later on, my father gave me an Inuit style totem bracelet in the shape of a bear, without having known about my dream. Kismet, yes? wink

smile When i was going though a rough time in my life i noticed that when evening came and i was alone in my apartment i thought i got a glimpse of a shadowy wolf running down the hall. about a year and a half later i learned about animal totems ,
i realy believe that the wolf is my totom and that was its way of showing itself

On a special book note, I picked up an interesting tome about a week ago. It is titled, Animal Spirit Guides, by Steven D. Farmer, PhD. The book lists the animals alphabetically. Each animal has three sections: if the animal shows up; call on the animal; and if the animal is your power animal. I've spent the last week looking up the different animals I have as totems, and the descriptions are pretty good. The cost of the book is $17.95 US dollars. I feel that it is worth that price to have a really good reference book. Take a look at it, and see if it's worth your time.
