“She is not one of the experiments.” At least Gallen hoped not, last thing he needed was to find her as some kind of humanoid animal running around the jungles. He walked in further and approached the pool table. “Return of the Thing from Space that is an old film, I remember seeing that, have you seen Attack of the Killer Tomatoes? Or A Chinese Ghosts Story?” Gallen wanted to change the subject form the island, though part of him wanted to learn more.

"Ooo!" Liamh grinned, feeling his insides untense as the man changed the subject. He turned slightly, allowing the other... shorter... guy more access to the table. Maybe he wouldn't have to entertain himself with it, he could use the distraction. "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was awesome. But Chinese Ghost Story i haven't seen, is it good?" He raised his eyebrows.
He held a hand out toward the rack of pool sticks as he spoke, a sideline offer for the stranger to join if he felt like. Maybe he could use the distraction too.

Gallen smiled as he approached the table, “Yhea it is a good film, was done in 83’ one of your typical martial arts love story with ghost films.” He took a pool stick, it had been a while since he had played pool. “The film has two sequels, and I hear they made some Japanese cartoon version too. By the way my name is Gallen Marcuss, I live in duplex 60. So you like cheese sci-fi flicks.” He smiled, “thought I was the only one. How about comic books or old myths and legends?” this was great already the conversation was distracting him from the reality that was the island, which he had fallen into.

"Heh, nice. I'll have to rent it some...." he froze, mentally kicking himself. He wasn't gonna rent anything again, was he? Not on THIS rock. Not unless.... he shook his head. "Heh. Sorry. I'll have to see if they've got it here." He hunched back over, lining up the shot to break, again. He pulled back, eyeing the angle, and gave it a knock, sending the balls clacking and crashing around the table.
None went in, unfortunately. Ah well. He was distracted. He stood back to let Gallen have a go. "Liamh," he said, poking himself in the chest with his thumb. "Liamh Doradan. Pleased to make your acquaintance, though i wish it were under better circumstances. And yeah, I'm kind of a B-horror and Sci-fi movie buff myself..." he nodded at Gallen. "Comic books too, though mostly a lot of small Indy labels and some of the new Ultimate series from Marvel. I'm still gonna be spiderman when i grow up, and proud of it."
He leaned his stick and his arm on the edge of the table, away from the danger zone of the felt. "Myths and legends? Er, i know a little bit, haven't studied it too intensely but you pick up a thing or two from pantheon.org and the media... What about you?"

Gallen watched as Liamh made his shot. “Oh me, well I am a …er..was I guess now, a Communications student, I tried to tap Feral Lab’s phones in New York when my sister disappeared while working for them. As for interest, I read DC and Marvel, I can never get into the Ultimates. I did enjoy Crisis and Batman is my hero.” He soon took his turn, lining up the balls, he had not played pool that much and was not very good at the game, still he enjoyed trying new things. “Spiderman huh, you sure they will let you be a wall crawler here.” He grinned as he struck the ball only to sink the cue ball. “My folks where archeologist in China, and they taught at Oxford for a while.”

Liamh nodded along, wincing at the cue-ball scratch. Least they hadn't sunk anything yet. He walked over and fished the ball out of the pocket, surveying the table for the best place to put it. "Eegh, good lord, i hadn't thought about that. I should be careful what i say..." He shuddered slightly at the mental image of himself with eight legs and mandibles.
He stuck the ball on the table and lined up for his next shot. "Sorry 'bout your sister..." he said, glancing at Gallen. "It sucks, it really does...."
He lined up a shot at a solid color ball, hoping to sink it in a side pocket. He took aim for several seconds, then changed his trajectory a little, and shot.
The ball ricocheted off the side, smacked into a striped ball, and they both went in separate pockets. He wrinkled his nose. "Well, you want stripes or solids, Gallen?"
He stepped back from the table, leaning on the stick. "Archaeologists, huh? That's cool. Did you grow up in China or anything?"

Gallen watched as the two balls sank, “Umm Ill do stripes. Yhea I guess one should be…but I know my sister is here, the reason why I know I probably will not be changed. I mean why would she invite me here to get changed into some kind of monster.” Gallen lined up the stick to the cue and tried again, this time aiming for a strip, but instead hit a solid. “oops, sorry. Yhea I lived in Hong Kong since I was five then moved to the US at age 15. My folks stayed in China….they also passed away there” his voice went low as he said this. He leaned on his pool cue, “My mom use to tell me all sorts of neat legends and stories when I was little. My favorite was The Legend of The Monkey King.” Gallen smiled at the memories of his youth, before New York, before his parents died, before the island….”So have you met any the umm….locals?”

"For your sake, i hope you're right.... have you found her?" He glanced over as Gallen's shot went wide and bounced around.
"Monkey King, that's cool. I think i saw an anime about that once." Liamh watched the balls roll to a stop and moved to take another shot. "Unless that was the hindu Hanuman instead. Heh, what do i know.."
He lined up his shot and took it, but it bounced off the edge of the hole and smacked into a cluster of other balls, not sinking anything. "Yeah. Met two guys last night, Gaius and Marshall, if they're locals. You know them?" he glanced over at the college student.

Gallen sighed as he thought about it, “ No I have not seen her. I can not even get in contact with the lab techs from my room.” He watched as Limah hit the ball and it bounced around. “Gaius and Marshall. No I have not met them? What are they….er I mean where do they live on the island?” he had seen more anthros and what not then humans, so it would be no wonder such a question would slip out.

"Eh, hitting 0 doesn't work?" Liamh wrinkled his nose and setting his stick down. "If she contacted you for something, maybe they don't want her saying anything else... dunno."
He picked up the chalk and set about putting another layer of blue powder on it while he watched. "Yeah, Marshall and Gaius are pretty awesome... they're in, uh... wait, i'll remember it... sixty-two and fifty something. Fifty-nine? I think. As for what...." he trailed off and shook his head. "I dunno. Marshall's got some kinda pointy black beak nose thing and freaky feet. Gaius has these long ears..." he gestured, pulling his hands away from his head. "I haven't seen much of anybody else yet. Didn't... uh... didn't want to run into too many people this morning. Just got up, anyway." He smirked.

“fifty-nine!!! That is the duplex under my room….But I thought my sister lived there…They said I be with her…but this guy Richard and also this bat guy Tommy both said, “if you live in the duplex your a test subject.” His face went pale as he sort of lost interest in the game, “ oh s**t no, no, no….I don’t want to be changed” the rest of the conversation seemed to not matter. “I never talked to her…they told me she was here…did they lie?” he remembered what Ian had said, maybe she invited you to change you so you two could be together forever. he sighed. “the injection, the “vaccine” it was the thing that changes you…wasn’t it?” he looked at Liamh with eyes begging to tell him he was wrong.

Liamh arched an eyebrow, the chalk resting on the tip of his pool cue, forgotten. "Ah crap. Yeah, i'm PRETTY sure Marshall's in 59. Did you try seeing who was in there, if they said it was your sister? I mean, i could be wrong, but... "
He set down the cube of chalk and pulled up his sleeve to the elbow, inspecting the area he'd recieved his shot in. "Yeah. It's the vaccination, at least that's what i've heard. They get you with that." he shuddered slightly. Needles. And whatever murky gunk they'd put in him.... he shuddered a little more. "Ugh. I hate to think.. what they put in me..." he took a deep breath and let it out, pulling the sleeve down.
He glanced over at Gallen. "I really hope your sister's all right. If she ISN"T out here, then there's hope for her. I dunno how to contact 'em other than pushing zero on the intercom, but.... i hope you can get some answers."

Gallen smiled, “so what Ian said I guess I should do, except your fate and all that junk. Sort of confusion like.” He smiled, “ If she is here she is probably safe, but why would these people put sibling on opposite sides?” He set aside the pool stick and walked to the window in eth rec room, looking at the village. “My first day here I met a little boy here who ahs a dolphin tale. He was brought here so he could be cured of his MS, he asked me what animal I was going to be. I reacted poorly to how he looked and to the question… well I have no idea what they will turn me into.. do you know what they plan to do with you?” He looked back

Liamh shook his head. "I'm not into just sitting back and accepting fate, but I do believe that we gotta be careful.... they're holding all the cards right now." he sighed and leaned up against the table, looking over his shoulder at the other fellow.
"A dolphin boy, huh?" he raised the other eyebrow. "No idea what they're going to do to me. If i have any say about it, they won't get a chance, but I don't know a thing about what's going on. I'm a child of the information age, and i need me some information before i can do anything..." he sighed. "I just wish i could get an internet connection, but now i know why there's none out here. That's the LAST thing they'd want."

Gallen spun around at those words, “You mean we are cut off, no communication out? But My laptop was able to access some network sites here, some kind of LJ the lab techs..or “test subjects” have. This can’t be. Has anyone tried to stop them, trued to force them to change everyone back and send them home?” Gallen’s voice got louder and louder, It was bad enough to be trapped and possible face the fate of losing his humanity…but to be totally cut of from eth world made the first two problems even worse. Gallen walked up to Liamh and spoke low to him, “I studied communications, maybe there is a way I can tap or break through what ever is causing us to be in this silences, then you can gather the information needed. Maybe inform the National Guard or something of what is going on. Maybe they can get here before they try and start to change us."
