Yeah, it happens to us too. Orchestra is the major musical group in our school. They have carpeting and a good working A/C. But my band has a cool refreshing water fountain xd . But yeah, people shout at us and say we suck a lot. One time I was carrying my trumpet and my friend's tuba at the same time. The choir kids were walking by and were saying we suck. As a joke I walked up as if going to hit them. The biggest guy who I use to fight with a lot last year got me in a bear-hug with the trumpet and tuba...how embarrasing...

Our practice field is right next to the community pool.. so when all the idiots are walking around or going down the slides or stuff, they're always yelling at us and stuff.. teasing us to jump the fence and go swimming... *sigh*

we had a couple of people yelling at us during our practices... there is a road into our school next to the football field, and ppl like to speed on it. sometimes they yell. usually someone yells back. our BD doesn't mind... much...

well, my school being poor, we have to practice in the parking lot. xD Our high school is located in a neighborhood with people surrounding us on all sides. well, we are playing and people will yell at us for playing so early in the morning. thats about it though...

sweatdrop Heh, thought you meant the (other) idiots in band...
Once we got mooned, but our assistant director chased the stupid punks down. 3nodding Sometimes people honk and shout stuff as they go by, but a lot of the time they shout good stuff instead of bad stuff. O_o;;

well there's always ppl driving by our practice area....but usually they either blow their horn, or stop and watch for a while (haha) we have a train that is like on a schedule to come through during something important or something and has to be soooooo loud but thats ok....we dont have probs. with ppl or our peers in general (besides the football team) disliking us...most people love the band. they will joke about it and stuff but dont hate us...the football team wishes they got as much attention as us...they suck to put it mildly....and most people come to football games to see us and leave when we are finished and after they come congratulate/talk to us!

once in band we were really loud! so my BD couldnt get our attention and he went in his office 2 get the megaphone! and when he came out he was shouting "you all suck! this is a horrible band" and he didnt realize that the principle and some of the teachers were right there! (he still cant live it down) mrgreen

Our school is surrounded by houses. Once when we were practicing on the fields outside (at 7:45), one of the neighbors climbed on top of his fence and yelled, "Shut the **** up!" and started cussing us out. One of the drummers was about to yell back at him, but our band director told him not to.

It's funny. I got screamed at by idiots when I missed one note when they went the whole song playing about four correct notes. ::eye roll.::

Yeah people shout at us but it's more like "HEY!" like their trying to get someone's attention, but we all know what will happen if we stop and look in the marching band.

hmm...i think i replied to this thread b4 but newho...
nah people don't shout at us. we're a small school and pretty much all the seniors are friends w/ each other and they like the band. they're lie groupies...always in the music room...lots of people support our band. they may not give us money when we do fundraisers but they like to watch us xD

Most people at my school like the band, but there is always the occasional moron. If we do get catcalls it's usually when we're practicing on the field (not often) when there's a gym class out at the same time (stupid jocks who failed it cuz they screw around too much xp ). Our bd usually just yells at them scream .

Yeah this happens every marching practice that we have. Ha ha ha, during my freshman year at band camp, we were up at a little cabin-ey place where other people happened to be staying. So these two guys that were probably in their twenties ran by our band-- which was marching on the field-- and had their shorts down to their knees. The two guys had a tan that looked like they tanned in a speedo. My band director had a microphone thingy and said, "Nice tan, boys!" It was so funny because my band director is a guy that happened to be the same age as the two running by.
