Jessica also blushed, knowing that she had the chance to tell him her name, but missed it somehow. She inwardly cursed her forgetful mind, and scolded the voices for not reminding her; at least they could be good for something! "I'm Jessica. Jessica Arinare. But I prefer to be called Jess," she replied, once obtaining proper hold of herself to be able to speak.

"Nice to meet you Jess."
he held his hand out to shake and smiled. His kind green eyes looking at you, almost like they where looking into your soul.
"And him?" pointing to the lug on the sofa.

Dai did blush, but thankfully her long, dark, hair hid it well. And she couldn't stop giggling. She tried o hold it in at furst, but soon it became noticable - Mainly in the little snarks and shoulder tremors as she tried to surpress it. As Gallen -Was he hot, or was he hot?- slowly and gently lowered her into her chair, she tried to stop giggling, if only for his sake. Stop it! Now! she thought, but her rebellious mouth was the end of her. Up came a new batch of giggles. Trying to distract herself, Dai looked in her bag and pretended to try and find something. As they slowly died out, she looked up and tried desperately to pull her thoughts together. "I'm sorry, I must be really ticklish... And my nerves aren't working properly today..." What a lame excuse, her mind nagged. It was right. Dai took in a deep breath of air and smoothed a lock of hair behind her ear as she tried to stop thinking about... Other things. Pulling up her mane of hair and tying it into a manageable ponytail, she glared at at her legs as she looked down, her nimble fingers twining the hair bands. This is all your fault. Making sure to pull out a few wisps of hair to hide her ears, she mustered up all her remainging giggles and stuffed them in an imaginary hole. "Um, my name's Dai. Dai-Tao Chai, but that's really too much of a mouthful by itself anyway." She shook Gallen's offered hand, and was surprised to feel that it matched her own. Usually she enjoyed seeing people wince in pain as she shook, but it was more of a sadistic joy than anything else. "Um, and I think his name is Howie... But I'm not sure..."

Jessica smiled and nodded shyly, unable to think of words for a split second. Quickly, her eyes climbed up to meet Gallen's, if only for a moment. When she looked into his eyes once more she practically melted inwardly. But here eyes held the silent genius that waited to escape, the ultimate sadness from lack of companionship, the insanity from the pervious put together, and finally a strange wisdom of the mind, as if no one's thoughts were safe in their all-knowing glow. All such information given in the blink of an eye, almost literally, for she broke the silent gaze quickly.
"He's Howie... I don't recall his last name. Forgetful me," she answered, shy blush refusing to leave her features.

Gallen looked at Jessica and smiled.
"Ok so he is Howie, but um what is your name?" he laughed a little seeing how nervous she was. He looked back at Dai, "sorry if my Chinese is not that good, I been studying it for some time, but my grammar is really bad." sweatdrop
OOC: (wow two young ladies after Gallen, I do not know what to do)

She blinked confusedly, she could have sworn she had given him her name already. In fact, if her memory served her right, she had just told him that moments before. Apparently not... "...Jessica Arinare." she said, confusion very apparent in her voice.
She slowly eased into the chair Gallen had given to her, still blinking confusedly. Ignoring the few spoken words in Chinese, she sat there trying to figure out if she had given him her name yet. I could have sworn!

Howie had taken the painkillers readily enough - it wasn't often he was treated to such high-end medications - but he protested being steered into the wheelchair loudly. He was getting rather muzzy-headed, however, so once they got him sitting down he sank into a sulky silence.
Now he lay on the couch, squinting distractedly at the ceiling. "Mm. Yeah, 's 'Owie," he muttered, hearing something about names. He tried to add on his last name too, but it came out rather garbled due to the painkillers and the renewed effects of the concussion.

Yes, I need my heart back One of the more love-struck voices whispered for her to say, but she quickly and harshly suppressed it. She wasn't about to get all mush-girly-lovey like that and ruin any hopes of having some sort of dignity. Instead, she just smiled and shook her head.
Settling down in her chair, she shivered a bit. Mostly because it was a little cold in the room and partly because she was virtually exhausted and needed sleep to re-cooperate her body. Gently, hoping she wouldn't be noticed, she rubbed her arms to bane the rebellious goose-bumps from them.

Dai tried to be understanding, even though his accent was atrocious. Not a lot of people outside Asians tried to understand Chinese, less even make an effort to learn it. "It's okay. Not a lot of people have the throat for it. Next time add 'ma' to the end word if you're asking a question." She smiled with some difficulty. He didn't even notice her giggling! Well, at least he didn't make a big deal out of it.
At the mention of staying over, Dai tried to decide. Staying in a Motel 6 with six other doctors didn't sound too appealing, but here... Staying with strangers... Oh, hell. She had her tazer, and her gun. What could they possibly do to her? Then she noticed Howie was falling dead on his feet. "I think I'll stay.. They got us packed seven in one room back at the hotel... And I think Howie might need a little help through the night. I have some basic supplies in my bag." She glanced at Howie again. And... Oh, I forgot... Howie? That Vicodin has just a leeetle bit of morphine... It knocks you out like a rock. But that's good... Really. You'll be out while I clean out your wound, which might sting. Hey, um... Jess, is it? Did you clean the gash before you patched it up? 'Cause it looks like you just slapped some gauze on it, no 'fense..."

"I did make an attempt to clean it, but I'm no doctor," she said, embarrassed. Really, she had no idea what to do, so she just cleaned it as best she could, tried not to jostle him, and made sure the wound stopped bleeding. It was all she could think of in a pinch. "But I'm sure it could use a lot more work from someone with a little more experience."
