we always get Superiors in the highest section of the band competitions we go to. best in VA....and I'm not sure if we've gotten Best of US. I'm pretty sure that we've at least gotten 3rd in the US, though.
We owe it to hard work and...MR. HOLDER (our head music teacher and umm....I don't even know..head of music at my school)

This year we did a spiritual show. I got back from competiton at 1 am this morning, but it was way worth it. We won. ^_^
Here's the break down of how we did at Crown Jewel.
In Prelims we won 1st place over all and in the diomand class. We beat out Cooper City and JP Taravealla (they chewed us up and spoit us out last year and the year before). We even beat WINTERHAVEN, which was insain since they were grand champions 2 yrs ago. We won best marching and maneuvering and General Effect.
FINALS:
We were beat out of grand champions by WinterHaven, unfortuantly. They prob won by .2 points or something, which is always how it is at these things. I thought our show was more enetertaining though. Theirs didn't catch my attention all that well. We still won best general effect though. And we got 1st runner up.
Not to mention that our drum major who has leukemia and has been on chemo showed up and recieved the awards with the rest of the council. It was really spirit lifting, especially since last I saw her she was in a hospital bed barely able to stay awake. *sniff*
All and all it was a great show, a great competition and a great season (even though we have festival next saturday).
Ick my shoulders hurt, a small price to pay for winning, lol.

iOggy Mwahaha! I am different! For my band is not doing a PotC show! Our show is based on music from Cirque du Soleil. The four songs: Distorted Reve Rouge (the first e has the little ^ over it...) A La Lune Urban O.M.G. they did distorted last year.... but this is my first year, and its awesome because everyone tells me that I am the only freshman that looks like a senior marching wise...and playing.... but our songs are 1) Paul Simon Opener (bridge over troubled water and you can call me al) 2) Mercy Mercy Mercy (The buckinghams) 3) 1-2-3 (Gloria Estefan) 4) Turn Turn Turn Ours is a "do you remember" show

A La Lune Urban Wahh? That's our show!! What the...well that's cool. I wonder if your color guard does what ours does. I'm not in colorguard so I have to watch the tapes to know. They have a noodle fight during A La Lune. I saw one band with our show and theirs did the stacking thing with boxes. It was cool!! Yeah, we're doin Cirque du Soleil too, La Nouba! Wahoo! It's fun, it had been fun. Sadly, our last game is this Friday. sad *sobs* Then, we get to concentrate on concert band and pep band and all of that good stuff!! smile Joy!!

This is the first year this show was introduced. So, it's really popular this year. It wasn't available last year. But...I don't know. My band did "Mercy Mercy" in their show 2 years ago. They did "Hey Pachuco," "Mercy Mercy," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," and "Night Train," I think they did "Night Train." Not sure though.

I think I'm able to post here without being a member? o-o; I just had to drop in and say something, I'm so impatient. x.x;;
Hmm ... I've marched in two shows so far, we start in our eighth grade year, and I'm a ninth grader now. Our shows ever since our awesomeawesome band directo have beeeen:
Alien Japanese - won us state for the first time! Irish - we entered in state finals above our class, and we placed 7th Electricity - won us state! The Scream (MY FIRST SHOW. And favorite. Based off the painting, it was crazy, but I loved it) - won us state! Indigenous ('native'. :3 Very, very cool music) - won us state!
We're thinking of going to nationals next year, or, 'that's the plan'. :3 Our little 'ol school. Hehe.

Our band played music by Graeme Kehoene (or something like that), he was from australia, so it had cool percussion parts. The title of our show was called Powerhouse Opener: Powerhouse Ballad: Way out West Closer: Elevator Music
The ballad is one of the most beautiful ballads i have ever heard, so i recomend it to any band, but their director would have to arrange it themselves because that's what our bd did with all three songs.
