the neckbreaker finally gets Drako free, though he can't immediately pop back up the way he'd like. He does in fact sit up, not like his brothers but just out of reflex after hitting the mat. He needs a moment or two to let the blood settle where it's supposed to

Nuke holds his neck as he hits the mat, and groans lightly to himself. The ref takes a moment to check on both competitors at this point.
Fusion gives a quick grip and asks the ref to move out of the way, as he slowly starts to roll onto this knees again, at a slow pace.
It might have been smarter to stay down for longer and rest, but Fusion had felt like he had to get up.

Drako realizes he has to get back into it, so he makes his way to his feet. Time to switch things up a bit and do something Nuke hasn't encountered from him before. Now on his feet, Drako hits the ropes and rebounds back at full speed, leaping up to catch Nuke on the rise with a superman punch, a move he'd added because of specific comparisons made during his run as champion. Might as well keep running with what the boys nicknamed him in the back

Breaking the forth wall and, also, almost breaking Nuke's jaw with that shot.
Fusion staggered on his feet for half a second and then stumbled backwards, rebounding off the ropes into an awaiting Drako.

If we're going to do these comparisons, Drako is going to keep it up. Immediately after clocking Nuke, Drako runs to hit the ropes again and as Nuke rebounds back, looks to take him down with a spear

The crowd were on their feet, some cheering, and some stunned.
Nuke was taken down hard with a brutal Spear, sending shockwaves across the arena!

The Soaring Dragon has been embracing that Reigns comparison for a while now, and it's time to see how effective it was as he quickly hooks the leg for a pin again, ready to finally put Nuke down for the count

The rivalry between the Damone and Fusion dynasties would be studied for years to come, and this could be the moment that Drako puts Nuke one step closer to retirement.
The ref slides down as Drako hooks the leg.

Thr!
With only his hands a couple inches off the mat, the ref calls for a two count - somehow, Fusion had kicked out of that!!

again Drako ends up sitting on the mat as Nuke kicks out of that combo. He huffs in irritation and to blow a dreadlock out of his face as he realizes his night has definitely not reached the end.
Since it's not over, Drako gets back to his feet and goes to pull Nuke up in a front facelock. Not in a benign way, but with full intentions of dropping him with a Damone Shot, his version of the snap DDT

Drako would drag up Nuke to his feet, and thrust his head low under his arm. Nuke knew something was up here, but he didn't seem to quite be with it at this moment.
Right as Damone looks ready to hit the Damone Shot, Nuke suddenly comes to life.
He aims to use pure strength from his shoulder and neck to power Drako over on to the mat!

that combo hadn't taken everything out of Nuke after all. He's aware enough to counter out of the move that had in fact won and retained the world championship for Drako several times in his last run. Drako finds himself lifted up and over, dumped quickly in almost a back drop. He hits the mat but starts to get back to his feet after, jolted from the impact

Nuke looked out across the crowd, and they cheered in his direction. But he seemed a little confused about the situation.
Fusion looked around and saw Damone on the floor, and nodded - somehow, he had managed to escape his fate.
Nuke groaned as he turned his aching body, and looked to grab Drako by his dreads and start pulling him up to his feet.

Someone always goes for the hair. The price Drako pays for beauty is that he's given an easy target in a fight. He finds himself brought to his feet as Nuke has him by the hair, but unfortunately the Dragon is not in control of the situation at this moment

Nuke knew that he had to go back to grinding down Drako, to make him feel weaker, to give himself that big chance at finishing this match.
European uppercut.. then another.. then another.. all whilst holding Drako's hair.
Well, that was the plan anyway.

the first uppercut wakes Drako up, but he's still caught by the hair. The second and the third rock him, and he's only standing semi-straight because Nuke still has him by the hair. Did he take notes from Drako's older sister?
