Dean saw the veteran hit the floor and his attention was focused on him. He was angry, and there was no way around that. He went to get the man to his feet and hook his arms for his finisher, The Anchor Slam (A release half hatch suplex)!

Avari had a small moment to regain some form of composure. And although he would have probably been better just staying down for a while, it just wasn't in his heart to do that.
Fusion made his way to his feet, and then watched as the barricade shook from impact. He proceeded to walk forward slowly and, before he could finish off Cyrus, Avari went to spin Dean around.
He looked to plant him with a kick to the guy, followed by a snap suplex to the mats!

Suplex for a Suplex as the old Christian saying went! And suplex it was as Dean was spun around and thrown on to the floor, his breathe leaving his body. Once again life was messing with him.

Avari rose to his feet as quick as the damage to his body would allow, raising a fist in the air to a big cheer from this raucous crowd!
Looking between the two competitors, Avari looked to pick up Dean and roll him in to the ring, just as he almost had done to him moments ago.

Dean found himself back in the ring as his breathe was coming back to him. His body tired and worn but atleast he had oxygen!

Avari rolled right after Dean, looking to follow him just a moment behind and grab a quick pinfall, hooking his leg!

The crowd were on their seats, this could be it!
"1!...."
Dean was slammed around, tossed around and bounced around the arena this whole match. Was Avari going to do it, was he going to win King of the Canvas!
"2..."
The hand of the referee was an inch away from the mat when...
NO!
Dean Johnson kicked out, his head and shoulder flying up to break the count!

The crowd must have thought that was going to be it, as the camera panned in on a man holding the top of his head, eyes wide in disbelief.
Avari rolled over and slammed the mat, slowly getting to his feet and looking between DJ and the ref. He took a moment to question the ref's decision, before shaking his head and wondering what to do.
Fusion had one thought in his mind, as he walked towards the turnbuckle. Looking to climb it, he just hoped that Johnson would stay down long enough to pull off a big moment.

Resting against the barricade after being spared of Dean's finisher, Cyrus slowly pulled himself back to his feet as the two continued to go at it in the ring. Lean against the barricade and being pat on the back from faceless fans, unrest slowly built in the old Lion's soul as his gaze began to fill with an old fury. Pushing himself off from his spot, Cyrus finally made a move as Avari went for the corner.
The Lion rolled into the ring and crept low as he waited to see what the Prince of the Canvas would do.

Dean was down, and he could hear the crowd build up in tension. He glanced very quickly to see the man on the turnbuckle. Not his favorite spot, as the aggressor or the defender, but he had an idea. Dean played opossum, waiting for Avari to do his death defying stunt and at the last moment lift his knees up to surprise the rookie!

Avari climbed the turnbuckle and looked out across the crowd, his back to Dean in the ring. He breathed in deep and steadied himself, both physically and mentally, knowing that this could end the match if he connected.
Fusion spread his arms out in his signature 'Eagle' motion, followed by a roar from the crowd.. and then shot backwards for a Moonsault!
What he didn't expect was for Dean to have his knees up, his eyes going wide as he came down hard upon them, feeling the impact and then rolling to the side clutching his ribs in pain!

Dean felt the man's weight on his knees as he knew the opossum technique was a success. He didn't need Rosario, he had this all on his own, and he would show it! Dean immediately sprang to his feet and looked to take advantage of the rookie's weakness. Dean stood behind Avari, and attempted to pull him up to lock him in the Sailors Knot (Masterlock). This was his holds of holds, if he locked it in there was no escaping for Fusion!

Fusion slowly got to his feet, nursing his ribs by clutching at them like a baby being held tenderly. But then his shoulders and arms were wrenched upwards, and he felt two big arms trying to wrap around his shoulders and back of his head!
Avari fought against it, squeezing with all of his strength to get out of it!

Deans fingers interlocked as he felt Avari push against his arms. No Sir. Dean cranked the submission harder, shaking the man along the way. The only man to escape this was Drako, and this was his way to get back into the ring to fix that mistake. This was personal for him. He needed to win, he needed the title, and he was going to do everything in his power to do fulfill those needs.

Avari Fusion was fighting with all of his might, but his strength was dropping through all of the action in this fight. He knew that he had been super active and not dropped much of the action, but that's exactly where he wanted to be.. right in the thick of it.
Fusion couldn't help it as he was soon locked in to the Sailor's Knot, in a spot where he was in grave peril!
