Squire Lourdes

Scylla had asked an excellent question that Lourdes hadn’t even considered. A new bolt of fear slammed through her body, causing her to fall back to Cybele and latch on to her wrist for stability. Dear god. What if the negaverse did get a hold of this weapon? What if they had another weapon to use against them? One more in the seemingly endless arsenal the negaverse had.

“To be perfectly frank,” she muttered to the senshi around her, “I don’t think there is a thing they can say that will make me comfortable with this.”

Giving energy to help isn’t something we haven’t done before.

Visibly shocked, Lourdes fixed Scylla with a look of pained disbelief. This would be a conversation for later, certainly, and she forced herself to recover and swallowed a new pang of horror.

It was a knight somewhere behind her that saved her, in truth. A woman promising to stand in the way of anyone who dared try and harm their planet (Andronicus). Lourdes turned to her and called, “Hear, hear,” as a promise to do the same. She would not be gathering energy. She would not be harnessing a comet which stood as the last vestige of a living, breathing planet. She would not place any faith or trust in beings who came from another world, which she had no way of knowing wasn’t broken by them in the first place. She would place her faith and her trust in her own. The senshi and knights who had been here. Who had been fighting. Who have been dying and watching their friends die.

She turned back to the pair of aliens.

“I also promise to not actively stand in your way. But the idea of gathering energy leaves a sick taste in my mouth, regardless of consent. As does the idea of harnessing the energy of even a dead comet.

“We would also need a guarantee, not a theory, that the officers and senshi left over would be purified and no longer in need of the negaverse as a power source. History has shown us that when power is removed but the acolytes remain, new power moves in to take its place. That is not pessimism. That is history.”

Page Agrippa

The dissenting opinions, no matter how logical, saddened Agrippa. The hope that bloomed in her chest was tempered by the voices around her, and she cupped her hands over her sternum as though to shelter herself from them. She glanced around first at her princess and then at the knights that bore her emblem.

“I wonder the same thing, Ganymede,” Agrippa agreed with a small nod of her head. “The question is whether Metallia is the blossom or the taproot? If we get rid of her, the way we pluck a dandelion, will she simply regenerate from the taproot of her power? And if she is the taproot, going solely from gardening experience, then it will take a considerable amount to rid the universe of her.”

Another terrifying thought rang in her hollow head, very suddenly.

“And,” she began slowly, looking up to her Princess, “we had better get all of her in one blow. Because if we don’t… all we’ve done is kick a hornet's nest.

Alpha and Beta Leporis

The sound of their names made both twins turn their heads. And it was only then that Alpha saw her sister. And then she saw the disdain in her eyes and she wished that her presence had remained a mystery.

Fabulous. Beta thought angrily. Now Alpha knew she was here, and would no doubt begin the exhausting show of pretending things were okay between the two of them. It was not something Beta was able to take this evening, given that they had just had a literal bombshell dropped on them. Beta turned from her sister then, forcing a gentle smile to the senshi who ran for them.

“Forgive me,” Beta murmured, enclosing Lepus in an embrace. “I’ve begun college and it has eaten a considerable amount of time.

“Yeah me too,” Alpha said breathlessly, doing the same as Beta released the younger senshi.

“We started like a month ago, and we’re already drowning in work,” Alpha all but gushed. Beta frowned and rolled her eyes, correcting, “I have no doubt that you’re drowning. I’m doing just fine.”

Alpha looked admonished for a moment, but recovered with a stammered, “O-oh. Right! Of course you are. You always were the smarter sister.” When Beta didn’t respond, and instead started straight ahead, Alpha turned her attention to the aliens and Lepus.

“So… did you hear the news, Lepus?”

“Too many cooks in the kitchen,” Ganymede muttered to herself, though those around her might have heard it.

There were too many voices speaking at once, or offering additional commentary before their guests could respond. Some of the questions and concerns presented were well-founded; others were not. Parsing through it all was no easy task. Ganymede could barely process the response to her own set of questions before something else required attention.

People spoke of balance as if the Negaverse’s existence, Metallia’s existence, was integral to it. The truth was, the only refuge for any of them, the Senshi and Knights, was in one city on a single planet in the vastness of space. The forces of the White Moon, of Order, were currently insignificant compared to the forces of Chaos. As far as she was aware, everything else was either ailing, dead, or so consumed by Chaos as to be unlivable for anything but. The scales were tipped so far in Metallia’s favor, destroying her would be what got them closer to finding that desired balance.

They couldn’t afford not to destroy her. The only question was how they meant to do that, and what the outcome would be when they did.

Ganymede was not convinced this plan concocted by their alien guests was the way, but she also wasn’t convinced that it was completely without merit.

She held Castor’s gaze when his eyes turned to her. There was little time to think on much of what he said now. Truly, they had little time for anything.

“We can only guess, and hope we’re not wrong,” she told Agrippa, “and deal with the consequences as they come.”

To the assembled crowd, she said, “The fact of the matter is, we had no options before our guests arrived, except to maintain the defensive and continue to purify one by one. Metallia has always been several steps ahead. Even our invasion accomplished very little. They have new leadership, a new Queen. We never reached Metallia, didn’t even make so much as a dent in her forces. The longer we do nothing, the more we risk losing our one foothold in Destiny City as Metallia’s influence continues to spread. If that happens, we will have no choice but to join her or die.”

Destiny City fell once. In a dream? In a vision? After so many years, those memories were even murkier than the past.

“Maybe this will be the thing that succeeds. Maybe it won’t. No one can guarantee that, not even a man who claims to have never failed a mission.” She eyed Lyndin again, still unimpressed by that particular claim. “I suspect, given the small window of opportunity, and your eagerness to see this through, our only choices now are to help, stand aside, or actively stand against you.

“I have no way of knowing which of those choices would be most to our benefit,"
she said to her allies. "Contact Cosmos, if you wish. Seek her council. In the meantime, Caedus, Commodore, I would appreciate an audience with you at your earliest convenience, to discuss these plans and your history more in depth. A setting like this can’t possibly allow for that.”

Guardian Cat (Humanoid) Arthur

The guardian had been watching the discussions with a open mind and the usual agitation that came with a meeting where everyone was trying to make themselves heard. A lot of concerns were valid, wondering if they were mimicking too close to their enemy, the repercussions of failure, the vagueness of if things were possible and how they would be executed. There was also concerns for those in the Negaverse's employ who might not deserve death if such a attack resulted in casualties.

Arthur listened and decided to step forward as well.

"I think we are forgetting we are in war. One that, as more of the Negaverse grows, the more innocent people are preyed upon and die. The Negaverse has people who many might want to purify and save, but in the end of the day it comes to the question what OUR duties are. Your planets could also become corrupt, your loved ones killed for starseeds, and our planet taken over if we allow this time to pass. We shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you do not agree, our attack will continue with those who are willing with the risk of more of us dying for that chance. Everyone has a choice to make, just as they make every day you patrol. That if your life or those your protect are on the line, what would you do to full your duties. They have a reserve of starseeds themselves. Countless souls that aren't being reincarnated by returning to the Cauldron. We owe it to them to save them and save future civilians from that."

He looked to the two, aliens just like he was to this planet.
"Having more technology on our side and energy to fight back could open up ways to preserve Earth and all of your planets. If we don't, then this war is just a wheel turning in place. If we don't push, Metallica sure will. And without advantages, they could run us into the ground."

Transcendent Eternal Sailor Megrez

Once again, Megrez had fallen out of the game, this time by falling into, well, a game. She had needed the distraction at the time, but she was picking herself back up, and apparently with splendid timing.

She hadn’t paid much attention to Caedus in his first appearance, wrapped up as she was in the war on Chaos. It seemed that now was the time to do so, however. He and his Commodore had a plan, and despite herself and the valid objections raised, she found herself approving of it. Regardless of whether humanity was ready for such a weapon, anything that could snuff out Metallia and possibly remove her tendrils from her agents in one go was an appealing option. Side effects would need accommodation, but surely, if the planet was sick, it could be healed.

At least, it could be if her faith in the potential of people wasn't completely misguided.

There were a great many distractions in the crowd. Castor and Ganymede were both present, for one. Still, now was not the time to feel intimidated by big names regardless of having big power to back it up. Megrez sucked in a breath and approached Caedus, trying to stand as straight and tall as possible. "Caedus. We may not have spoken much when you were last here. You might not even remember me. I just want to say that I, Sailor Megrez, approve of your plan. As has been said, we may never get another opportunity to do what only we can do. If the world is to heal from Chaos, we must strike decisively… and then, we'll do what we do best: adapt."

Tension wracked her body when she was finished with her speech. She had probably just opened herself up to come under fire from a lot of detractors. All the same, she was no stranger to being disagreed with.

Super Sailor Sadachbia

Doubts and and setbacks aside, Sadachbia felt this was a gathering she couldn't pass up. Megrez's presence helped; that woman was a bulwark of faith in people. How she kept that up in light of betrayals, loss, and pain was inspiring, if something of a mystery.

She wanted to call upon her younger self who charged into things without hesitation. Life, powered and otherwise, had seemed so much simpler back then. Go in, beat up Chaos, get out, celebrate victories. Why, then, was it so hard to believe that an opportunity to turn the tide once and for all was coming?

The rookie who had just about duct taped herself to her, Makhaon, was equal parts charming and grating in her vast enthusiasm for "justice." She knew so little but clung to what she did know with an incredible zeal.

Sadachbia thought she saw a familiar hair color in the crowd, though it wasn't one she'd seen for a long while. Though Megrez had stepped forward, she thought it was important she took note of. She stepped forward and put a hand on Megrez's shoulder. "Megrez, look over there. Isn't that…?"

She was pointing at Cybele, but whether the other senshi would notice remained to be seen.

Paradise, Page of Cosmos

“Do you think they’re going to need some place to stay?” Paradise asked, hand on her face as she wondered about the aliens’ situation. “They can’t possibly have all the supplies and things they need in that dome of theirs. Maybe I should make them some food. Do you think they’ll like lasagna? That’s a silly question, of course they would,” she said with a small wave of her hand as if dismissing her own question.

“How will they fit through doorways? They’re so tall. I’m sure no one will give them a second look if they wandered around the city. They could just say a convention is in town and everyone would believe them. And they look so good for their age. I think I should ask them for their secret. Oh, it’s probably genetics. But I bet they drink plenty of water.”

As a new Page, she was fully aware that she had no real voice in the matter. Whatever the others would decide, she would support since she assumed they knew the situation better than she did. She would just have to make sure everyone had enough to eat and drink and places to sleep and stay warm.

Eternal Sailor Oberon, Senshi of Adventure

Oberon offered Caedus all of his attention, even if there was no one else listening or watching to see that the proof of giving energy was perfectly safe. He didn’t ask any additional questions during the demonstration, and made sure to pay attention to the Commodore as well.

He didn’t know about anyone else, but if getting rid of Metallia could shift the tides of the war… then maybe the chaos would be pulled out of all the youma locked in the Rift. If they had been people once, forced to live as creatures to do Metallia’s bidding, then they deserved to rest as well. He would miss researching them, but as much as he knew about them, it seemed to come back that they were trapped, in one way or another.

“Thanks, I’ll be careful,” he said of the borrowed crystal, and watched how Caedus was holding it before taking it himself. A press against his skin and he could immediately feel the energy being pulled--

He didn’t quite hold it for a full second, but it was enough that he felt more than a little tired when he held the crystal back to him. Anyone around would be able to see that he was perfectly fine. Even if they ignored him so they could speak to Caedus themselves.

“Yeah people will want to be careful with that one,” he said and had to lift a hand to stifle a yawn, but other than that felt exhausted but unharmed. Just like before.

“Sorry about everyone. But I want to be able to power up somewhere on Earth other than Destiny City and not worry about getting killed by the Negaverse. So. I’ll help.”

Valhalla, Transcended Knight of Jupiter

Valhalla stared at the Knight of Saturn -- at Asphodel -- with widened eyes, as if not sure to believe him but-- why would he lie?

“Wow, you look great! That’s… I’m so happy to see you again,” he said, his voice sincere as he turned to him as if wanting to make absolutely sure he really was the same Uranophane from before. “This is a horrible place for introductions, but this is my wife, Ganymede,” he gestured, although he tried not to interrupt her from actually trying to pay attention to things. He gave her hand a squeeze to make sure she knew he was listening too.

He glanced at Ida as she spoke as well, nodding at her comments. “Destiny City is all we have. If we can do something to push back at Chaos… that’s why we went into the Dark Kingdom before, knowing that there might have been a chance we wouldn’t survive.” His starseed had still been damaged back then. He hadn’t been able to feel the heaviness of Chaos around them, but in that instance it was more of a blessing than a death sentence.

Valhalla knew Ganymede was right when she spoke. Their family lived in that city. They had a home there, a life there. If they could have a chance at getting rid of Chaos, at least from the city, enough to be able to survive and live and maybe form an alliance with these aliens, then…

“Once you speak to them, whatever your decision is, I’ll trust and follow you as always, Princess Ganymede,” he said with a smile and a small bow of his head, reminiscent of perhaps a time a thousand years ago when they were different people.

If anyone had any insight on how the war had been going for the last decade, and had a reason to protect the city and those who lived in it, and Earth by extension, it was Ganymede. She wasn’t going to leave the city once all of this was over. She was going to stand and protect it as she had been.

Super Hydor, Senshi of Mesocyclones

There was at least one attendee watching the scout senshi's display very closely, watching as he took the gem and touched it to his arm, watching as he had to pull it away very quickly due to some quickly arriving yawns. Alright. He could see its use as a sleep aid. Perhaps he could ask to borrow one as an escape from the occasional nightmares--

Well, he looked perfectly fine. And was still voluntary.

Was enough of a display for Hydor to shrug and project in the senshi's (Oberon's) direction, "Thanks! Wasn't here the first time around."

Unfortunately. He got the sense he had missed a lot. An actual full strike at the Negaverse in their damn hidden location? He would have liked the chance to participate in that.

"That was all I needed to see. I'm in." He crossed his arms over his chest. "A bit of voluntary energy-draining and a dead remnant for a chance to finally end a force that makes people into monsters and consumes souls? Hardly a sacrifice at all."

Transcended Squire Pendour

She'd had her questions, and she'd gotten answers to them. The comet they were speaking about wasn't Encke's, after all. It was part of a world that had already been destroyed. The environmentalist's heart in her ached, a little, at the thought of more or less mining it for resources and energy, but if it could heal the entire Earth? If it could purify every member of the Negaverse, cure every youma, stop people from having their bodies broken in gardens and having their souls stolen on street corners? If it could help her friends, easily, could help people like Geocronite and the dragon half-youma tear the Chaos out of their minds and their bodies?

On top of that, if all of this could happen without a single life being lost?

It would maybe be worth it.

Yes, they'd have to be careful in the aftermath, wary about things like power vacuums and what the people closest to Metallia might think afterwards. The thought of balance didn't bother her. If evil truly had to exist for some storybook reason, she was sure it could find its way in people's regular greed and selfishness, and she'd stand against all that, too, in any way that they could.

At the moment, she could give these aliens a little of her energy in order to stand against evil. That was easy enough.

"Well, I have a bond with my Wonder that lets me carry and channel more of its energy. Um, and it's renewable. The Wonder only really gets healthier every time I go up there."

She stepped forwards, away from Athalia and the others and closer to Oberon, although she was careful not to crowd his friend as he made his demonstration. He looked okay, after, and it was all consensual.

"Do you want it now? Um, you can take as much as I can give. Maybe if we're lucky, or patient, it'll be enough that you don't even have to drain this comet so much."

Super Sailor Cybele

She heard what Albireo was saying. She felt it, deep in her chest, and in the scar on her back, as well. She deeply, deeply wanted to destroy the reign of the Negaverse, to keep herself and her friends from being killed or dragged screaming back into the darkness. It was what she fought for, every day.

Yet it was not something so precious that it was worth just any price.

"It could mean that," replied Cybele, and though her eyes were still cold, steely, and locked on the aliens, her voice was much softer as she spoke to her friend. "We can talk this over later."

Oberon was the only other person she cared about who seemed to trust in the alien's plan. He was already offering up his own energy, and that made Cybele's heart skip a beat.

Ganymede was poking holes in the Commodore's logic, quick as he was to offer up an explanation. Scylla was being diplomatic, but still seemed extremely wary. Lourdes was holding onto her wrist for dear life and sharing similar concerns. Cybele adjusted her grip slightly so that she could run a comforting thumb over the back of her friend's hand. Siegfried was standing protectively in front of all of them.

It was enough that Cybele felt justified in what she'd said, and how she'd felt.

To the aliens, she said, "The way you speak in ultimatums does little to make me trust you, Commodore."

Perhaps Earth would be lost without their help. Perhaps it would not be.

If his plan did came to fruition and worked, there would be a power vacuum, as people said, and Cybele had her suspicions of who would step in to fill that role. She thought it might be someone tall, with turquoise eyes, someone who they would all owe a great debt to. It would be someone starving for energy and resources, someone ready to go to admittedly desperate, violent measures to support his own dying world.

"But all right. My name is Cybele, and we can speak later. We can speak of how you came to this plan, and of potential alternatives. Perhaps you can convince me not to stand in your way."

She ran her thumb over Lourdes' knuckles again.

"Perhaps."

Transcendent Eternal Sailor Kerberos

Kerberos turned, as soon as he heard Nile's vice, and reached out half-thoughtlessly to wind his fingers with the Squire's. He was paying attention, and taking in what he was seeing and hearing, and he frowned, faintly. There was quite a bit going on here, tonight, and he was trying to take all of it in.

Deeply passionate opinions flying left, right, and center, for certain.

But the plan made him thoughtful.

Destroy Metallia. Burn out the Negaverse at the source. Save everyone poisoned by her corruption. And the only price was the energy of one comet, and willingly given energy from them, to power this device.

Oh, Kerberos wanted so badly to believe it was possible.

"What do you think?" He asked, addressing Nile quietly. "I don't think either of us can get a word in edgewise here, but...it sounds so good. Too good, d'you think?"

He would have to seek an audience with Caedus and Lyndin after this. Maybe bring some snacks to smooth things over.

[Mistress Morbid]
PostPosted: Thu Sep 16, 2021 7:15 pm

There was an overwhelming amount of conversation happening in front of Lyndin and Caedus, and where Caedus seemed to wilt a bit as he adjusted to everything at once, Lyndin still stood tall.

He did not address anyone directly at first, and instead looked at the whole group.

I’m not invalidating or demeaning your concerns. But I don’t know that I can answer everyone right now. Not in any coherent, digestible way. I hope you’ll forgive me if I ask for those of you with questions or concerns to return when we’ve had a chance to finish setting up. I will give time to anyone who needs assurances that we are working with the best interest of Earth, and the universe. I don’t have the resources prepared to give you the assurances you’re asking for, but if you give me until tomorrow, I’ll have them prepared. I need to touch base with the rest of the Vanguard shortly. I hope you won’t take my absence as avoidance.

He gave them a few seconds to process this before he continued, “I will do my best to answer what I can, now. If I overlook an inquiry, I mean no offense. We’ve had a long journey and there are a lot of you.

Caedus nodded absentmindedly, and without the cloak he used to shield himself with, his brows were visibly knit. He was quieter, and might have been distracted by the concerns voiced.

Oberon’s attention was good for him, and he smiled briefly again despite his worry. “Thank you,” he said softly, “Do you need to sit down? I think we have something you can sit on. I can get it for you.

Lyndin glanced at Caedus briefly before he focused on answering what he could.

Our Source Stones are harmless. As I said before, we use them regularly. I assumed we would be allies in this. Naturally, the Vanguard will donate what energy we can as well. To call yourselves cattle is to call ourselves the same. I do not see it as such. We never have. I cannot speak for how your enemies ‘drain energy’, but borrowing excess energy is not a means of attack. We will not take energy from any of you. I ask that if you share our goal, you help us. That is all.

He did not seem to be upset by the questions. Perhaps, if anything, he seemed disappointed by the discord, but it did not deter him from moving to another topic of interest.

I worry that you have greater compassion for the comet we seek to utilize than it deserves. I am not proposing to destroy a world that holds life, or that holds anything that could ever. If you have concerns about the comet, or can find any information I do not have, see me tomorrow. Or whenever is convenient. I will prepare information on it. I will give you the history as we know it. If we have made a mistake,” he said, with the confidence of someone who was certain they hadn’t, “We will change our plan. I will not destroy someone’s world.

In this, he seemed passionate. He was professional, but driven. “There is a vast difference between a piece of debris in space and a world that could be saved. I cannot simplify our entire history in the span of a single conversation, and I cannot give you all the answers now when you all have so many different interests. I want to revive my world. I don’t want to destroy yours. I don’t know how to revive our world, except by awakening our Senshi. And there are many of you here. And maybe you have an answer we don’t have. The comet I speak of has no name. It is not Archideus. It is a fragment of it, and a small one at that. There are at least four others that still exist. I can locate them if you want to examine their properties as well.” His eyes were on Encke for a brief second, to make sure he knew he was willing to give him whatever answers he could.

Athalia seemed riled up on the subject, so he looked at him next when he assured, “I have not spent my lifetime trying to revive my world to settle for anything else. Your world is good, for you, I assume. But I won’t let the legacy of my people die. You had a chance to bring your world back to life. We haven’t had that chance yet. And, whether or not you want to accept it, you are not alone. No one has ‘gunned us down’ yet. And, if we can manage it, we will help protect your world. I don’t know what else I can do to assure you of this. Perhaps, when we have had time to think things over and speak again, we can work something out. As I’ve said before, if there is another way to secure Earth’s safety, better than what I have proposed, we will listen to all ideas. I didn’t come here to assume command or control of your world. We have a mission to help Earth. That is the goal. And when your world is secure, I hope you will help us. But you aren’t obligated to,” he shrugged. “I have no expectations from any of you.

Something flickered behind the barrier and it seemed to draw his attention briefly; it was clear that he was used to overseeing things and might have been happier to be ensuring his people were accommodating well. And yet, he did not try to leave as soon as the opportunity arose.

I don’t quite understand what you mean when you talk about a power vacuum, but I assume you know your world. Can you not fill a void with the resources it needs to be successful? Strong leadership can repair weak foundations. I do not know who your leaders are, but I would speak to them as well if it would assure anyone of our intentions.

A shooting star passed above them, nothing nefarious or miraculous, but it drew Lyndin’s attention all the same. "I have come here with hope to find answers for how your world has flourished so we can return our own to such prosperity. If we knew how to bring back life to hibernating worlds, we would have started with our own. We are here to find answers as much as save this planet. I strongly believe we will be better, stronger, together.

A pause, briefly, only so he could change topics again. “I am sorry that I cannot give you a demonstration of our machine, we have only just arrived. We are in the process of disassembling our ship and establishing a shelter. I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding, this device is specifically programmed to target the comet and utilize its resources. It won’t be here for a few more weeks. In that time, perhaps we can establish some level of trust. I will give you whatever answers I can provide. You are welcome to speak to whoever it is you need permission or guidance from. Please do not bring me someone to slaughter,” Lyndin said, eyes on Castor with something that was wariness, if not outright distrust. “I told you. We don’t want bloodshed.

Caedus seemed relieved that Lyndin was speaking so much; he wasn’t confident that he’d have had the fortitude to handle the barrage of questions and accusations. He was still holding the Source Stone and waited until there was a slight lull in Lyndin’s words. To Pendour, he spoke quietly, doing his best not to interrupt or distract from Lyndin’s words. “Would you like me to get you a seat first? I do not want you to fall.

Lyndin had given a few seconds for his words to settle in, and then concluded, perhaps with Ganymede’s observations in mind, “We don’t have many opportunities to act. The comet will only pass near enough to be useful once, and if we fail to make a move then, we’ll need a new plan. You have time between now and then, to consider things and make your choice. But you would be correct to assume that we have spent time considering our options. We have come to you with the plan that yields the best chance for success.

There were many who had spoken, who had not been directly addressed, but they were not forgotten--and though Lyndin seemed to be doing his best to assure them, he was being transparent that he did not have all night to answer things--but he would make time for them again. He would personally address all of them individually if that’s what it took to see this mission succeed.

Myrrha, Super Senshi of Scents

Having Scylla acknowledge her arrival was a welcome feeling. Although the Kraken senshi then had her attention diverted by those who stood around her. Alas, there would be time to catch up later. It was the arrival of another being that looked like Caedus held Myrrha's attention for all of the time it took for the newest arrival to mention the plan that they wanted to implement. Taking that her place of power was an asteroid up in space the idea to utilize an apparent 'dead' comet seemed almost abhorrent. Instead of voicing her concerns over the plan or support for it Myrrha was more interested in trying to figure out just what else lay beyond the dome that this Commodore Lyndin had walked through to join Caedus. The fact that there were more people, more to this Vanguard than just Caedus and Lyndin was intriguing. Her gaze swept over the pair before she sighed. Her curiosity, although tempered, was inexhaustible. The questions she wanted answers to & possibly the only way to get them was to poke around.

Considering that those that had called them here were both distracted fielding questions and concerns gave Myrrha the chance to glance at the crowd of those, who like her, had heeded the call to arrive. The assembled mass included all types and she had to wonder just how they weren't attracting the wrong sort of attention. Was it something to do on the behalf of Caedus and this Vanguard?

Enough was enough. Myrrha moved back into the crowd and began to sidestep around the throng of individuals. The idea was that she would begin to inch a little closer to the wall that she had seen ripple when Lyndin had stepped out. How did the mechanism work? How was it programmed to allow passage? All these questions ran through the senshi of scents mind as she moved closer to the barrier but still stood a respectable distance away from it. Passive observance was the key for now. The chance to be more than a passive observer could change at any moment but for now Myrrha was content in standing aside and casting glances at the barrier. A burning desire to meet the others that had been spoken of was growing inside of her but she'd tamp it down for the time being. Maybe there would be a chance later - if she were to skulk around after this meeting was dispensed with.

Myrrha's still standing a distance away from the wall - but probably closer than appreciated

Transcended Eternal Scylla, Senshi of The Kraken

Yep; she had been right. There was a lot. A lot of distrust, a lot of reasonable suspicion, a lot of good points to be had, and a lot of hope.

"Caedus," she told him gently, her voice lifted so Lyndin would be able to hear as well, "You keep looking like a kicked puppy, glynd. When you first came to us for help I told you- Most of us who have survived betrayal, it has by the skin of our teeth and luck. We have lost many more of our own to Chaos and betrayal over the years you have been gone. While we have gained some back, they would be familiar with the enemy's methods, and have good reason to be wary."

She lifted her voice, not caring who heard her words. "And you told me- 'Sometimes I think senshi are quick to abandon logic for power. Especially in dire circumstances.' Lyndin, gather your proof. Caedus, be patient, and don't look so distressed- it's dire, but it has been for a long time, now; and here we are, thinking before we abandon logic to accept a gift of power being flung at us. But I'll donate my energy, same as I did to help you get home before, my friend. It's no different than donating my energy to a fellow senshi in need of an energy boost after a hard battle. Perhaps it will go to a different use than was proposed tonight. We humans are known for thinking outside the box, and give your technology and some of the amazing minds here, maybe we can come to a consensus that has no member of Order standing against you. Either way, in the meantime the energy donation means a good night's sleep for me."

Her friend had seemed so convinced that his people were incorruptible. In the time he had been gone, however, Scylla had come to wonder if anyone was. Even herself.

Myrrha had wandered away, Puck had gone and found a friend, Lourdes and Cybele were close together, one looking at her with something akin to horror, now. Charybdis was safe with Ara, Castor disapproved of her parenting, and no one was throwing fists.

So far, this was going pretty well. Dramatic. Loud. But well.

Oberon's demonstration was more effective than Scylla having tried to do it herself would have been either way- and now Pendour was stepping up to volunteer.

Nile - Uranus Squire

The Squire was thankful that Kerberos grabbed onto him instantly. "This is... honestly a bit overwhelming." He wasn't entirely sure if he meant the gathering, or the given information. "Is this... normal?" He asked quietly.

Nile pulled the Eternal closer, leaning a little bit of his weight against the other with a slight frown. "Honestly, I am... not entirely sure what to think. Given my background... I can say that not everyone in the Negaverse is going to want to be saved. Yeah it's Chaos and Metallia's will or whatever but.." He shrugged lightly. "We, weren't inherently evil... We tried our best not to hurt people if we could avoid it, and when we had to most times it was in self defense. There were, and are, definately far worse people.. But I don't think everyone is evil. Didn't you have a Corrupt friend that you hung out with a lot? White hair. She didn't seem all that bad from what you told me of her."

Nile sighed quietly. "Order, chaos. ...Light, dark... We've all got both light and dark inside us. Isn't what matters the part we chose to act on? That's who we are at the end of the day."

Ugh... It was probably a good thing he couldn't get an word in. Nile didn't think he had the stomach for it right now. "As far as this... plan... I don't know. I don't think it's going to be as simple as he put it... Something just feels off." The Squire said with a huff. "I don't like it. I've got a funny feeling." He grimaced. Part of him wished Lyon was here. Maybe he would have known better.

"Hey..." He said quietly, trying to lighten the mood some as he tilted his head in the direction of one of Caedus' many...friends. "Can you imagine if Natron had ever seen this?" Nile brough his hands up infront of both of them, making a familiar pose. "Aliens." The Squire snickered slightly.

Noir Songbird

Squire Alexandria

"Promises, promises..." Alexandria mumbled quietly, wrapping an arm around her. He let her pull him around, as needed. Whatever let her blow off some steam.

"Or worse..." He muttered. "Last time went over... oh so well." He said flatly. "They could just be biding their time. Waiting till we come to them again..." The Squire said quietly. Alexandria smiled slightly when Andro kissed him, but it quickly faded as she walked off. Honestly though, with his track record for these things, he was kinda happy nothing had happened yet.

He couldn't quite stop the chuckle that came from his Andro laid down her threat. She was already so done with all of this... "Aw..." He chided, as Andro made her way back over to him. "Look at you being a ball big and badass... How cute. Do you want my sword next time?" He tangled a hand with hers, wrapping it around her.

"I don't like this either..." He said, leaning against her. She'd always been a solid weight for him. Something he could hold on to without the fear of falling creeping in. Or worse. "And I'm not just saying that because I have a knack for getting the s**t beat outta me during these things..."

Sailor Oceana

Oceana made a soft noise as Sparta used him as support. "...I've never been to one of these before.." He said quietly. He wondered if there was anything he was suppose to do... Should he have introduced himself?

Oceana held on to the arms holding him, just watching. He made a face, when the army appeared. This didn't boad well. "...Did.. We know he was bringing an army with him?? I feel like that's something you tell allies first..." The smaller senshi leaned his head against the chestplate. "I mean... It's worth a shot. But people seem apprehensive. I wonder if this has had bad results in the past. What do you think???" He asked, tilting his head up to look at Sparta.
