Squire Pendour- Not attacking

Pendour was getting better at deescalation tactics for when she found a single agent out on the streets, but a mob like this was an entirely different beast. It did not help that half of the people here had broken souls that tended towards violence. That didn't help at all.

The thought of trying to stand in the middle or something did cross her mind. It felt like a betrayal of her values to freeze up in these situations, and yet that was what was happening this time, too, even as she watched the action and willed herself to step forwards.

The feeling of a jacket and then hands on her shoulders made her tense up even more and then soften all at once. It would only make things worse if her friends watched her get hurt, wouldn't it? If there had been some chance that she could really help, could find some gentler way to guide everyone back to the city by the river path, then it might have been worth that risk, but as it was, she just collapsed against his chest, the tears beginning to well up.

"It's not your fault," she said with all the gentleness in the world. It wasn't. He had been working far harder than she had to figure all this out. She shifted slightly so that she could summon her ocarina. The magic wouldn't work on her, but it would be something to listen to besides the crashes and roars in the distance.

She still channeled the magic, though, for his sake and for the sake of anyone else who could hear and maybe rethink what they were doing.

[Anyone can choose to be in range of the magic!]
Quote:
Magic - When Pendour plays her ocarina, the negative emotions of those within five feet of her fade and are replaced with a feeling of pleasant relaxation. One can shake the effect with enough concentration, but it can serve as a distraction for those who would do Pendour harm. She can channel this magic for 45 seconds.

Corrupt Eternal Cybele- Roll 3: 9

Cybele's smile grew, even as a shockwave from one of the monster's swipes hit her square in the chest and sent her sliding back several feet.

She'd been looking for something to spark any sense of memory or instinct over the past few weeks, but every trip through the forest and town had left her feeling as empty as she had before. She'd gotten a taste of something when she'd confronted the creature, but that had been short-lived and had ended poorly.

Now, though, as she heard the fear in its powerful cries, something snapped into place in her mind. The adrenaline coursed through her veins.

This was the hunt. This was what she was made for.

The beast was powerful, but there were enough people around it to keep it occupied and to give her a chance to strike. Surging forward with all of her Eternal speed, she closed the distance between them and kicked out at one of its bony legs.

Chibi Super Lepus | 8+9+5 | Roll 3

The monster was getting mad, which Lepus took to be a good sign... somehow. At the very least, it meant they were doing something to it, even if it didn't look like they had done much damage from their efforts to attack it. Now, if they just kept at it... they'd surely be able to take it out!

Of course, it wouldn't do any good if the monster took them out first. Splinters went flying from a swipe of its claws, and Lepus scrambled to dodge them, as it wouldn't do any good to fall in battle here and now.

"You'll have to do more than that to stop me!" she called out, as she used her magic again to summon another decoy Lepus, to hopefully distract her opponent.

Chibi Hokkaido| 7+6+2 | Roll 3

As she continued to cower and trail behind Aomori, Hokkaido observed that the monster had started to grow angry at the fact that they were attacking it, and hadn't really seemed to be all too damaged from what people had thrown at it so far. That wasn't good news to her, and she worried if they'd ever be able to win their freedom.

While Hokkaido continued to do her best to support her twin, while also avoiding being attacked herself, she wondered just what more the two of them could even do. Everyone was so much bigger than them- shouldn't they leave the fighting to the adults? She really wished she was back home, in bed, right about now...

Civilian Kalani | 8+5+0 (not attacking this round) | Roll 3

The monster finally showed up, after taking its sweet time getting here, and boy was it angry. It cleaved a tree with its mighty huge claws right in front of them, and Kalani felt splinters graze her cheek, which told her she was way too close for comfort. And honestly, why was she even up front like this, anyway? Kalani wasn't getting paid enough to deal with this, or at all.

The darkness made it hard to tell if she was bleeding or not, but if those splinters left a mark... she wasn't going to be happy.

Civilian Safiya | 7+8+0 (not attacking) | Roll 3

So they had gone and pissed off the monster, of course. Safiya had expected it, anticipated, really, but this was just confirmation that they had made it mad by attacking it. Branches flew at her from the monster's attack, and she lost her balance at least once or twice from the sudden gusts of wind that the shockwaves the swiping from its claws produced. There wasn't much point in her trying to do anything but dodge debris and claws, as Safi attempted to locate her cousin in the midst of all this chaos.

The costumed weirdoes could handle things this round.

X Silistra Page of Saturn: Dam 4 + 7- Not Attacking

Silistra heard the music and she stopped to listen to it, she was surprised at how much better she felt for the moment, more relaxed than she had felt in weeks. She was far enough back that she was able to dodge the flying wood that would have otherwise hit her if she had been trying to attack like the others. She really didn't want to attack in the first place. She wished there was another way to handle this and get everyone home. She looked around to see if there was any hint as to something else that could be done. Perhaps she could find some cloth and bandage those getting hurt rather than fighting.

X Coco guardian cat: Dam 1 + 3 + 3

Roll 3

Coco was still on the attack even though she was small and fluffy and didn't have much to work with to attack. Still, she was going to try and help. The creature was really big so she lunged at its ankle before she was blown away by the blast. Coco landed on her side the wind knocked out of her several feet away from the creature. She lay on her side still stunned and unable to do anything else for the moment. She most likely shouldn't have tried to fight such a powerful creature in the first place, after all, she still was very young.

X Salior Vela Corrupt Senshi of Bonfires: Dam 4 + 4+ 4

Roll 3

Vela was considering her next move as she watched others fighting and still others shouting that this wasn't the way to get out of this. Lots of voices and lots of problems. She sighed and rubbed the back of her head as she watched the monster return attack them. Not that she could blame the creature, they didn't know if this thing was what was keeping them here but they also didn't know that this creature wasn't what was keeping them here and therefore this might be their chance to get home. If they let the monster get away would they be stuck here forever?

X Hendone, Civ. : Dam 8 + 3 + 6

Roll 3

Hendone would have run forward again to try to attack once more but the wave of power knock her off her feet and she hit the ground and was struggling to get back up. She made it to her feet and stood her ground waiting for another opening so she could help in the battle. Hendone refused to be afraid of this creature. Jack might be afraid of this and think this was all a dream but the feelings this had here told her this was real and if she wanted to get out of this she had to fight her way out.

X Salior Morpheus Dark Mirror Super of Surreality: Dam 5 + 3 + 9

Roll 3

Morpheus stood back watching the situation for the moment trying to decide his next move when the wave of power hit and his arm was cut. He frowned looking down at it but it would not be lonely if he became a scar he had plenty of scars already from the time before he could remember so the small cut was of no worry to him. He stood his ground and waited for his chance to fight back. He looked around to see if there were any others doing anything of interest at the moment. He started forward to see if he could find an opening for another attack.

X Super Sailor Dejanira Senshi of Raspberries: Dam 10 + 7 + 7

Roll 3

Dejanira quickly moved forward to try to attack when she was knocked back by the monsters attack and knocked to the ground she got back up and watched to see what would happen next. She heard the cries of those saying to stop attacking but she just didn't think that was the answer. They had been trapped here for weeks wasn't this what was keeping them here? Didn't they want to go home? Dejanira certainly didn't want to stay here any longer she was ready to go home to her garden and see her family again. She sighed this was a mess indeed.

Cinta Mahsa - Civilian | 1 + 3 + 3

Cinta felt like her heart is going to fall flat out of fear more than once. The near-constant violent sounds nearby frightened her considerably. The fog threatened to question her visual faculty more than once as well. Meanwhile, the gust occasionally caused her to lose her balance, and she endured a shower of splinters. They scratched and faintly stabbed against her.

Her eyes watered, feeling like crying. She was feeling upset and despite her best effort to maneuver around this maddening situation, she still hasn't found Safiya yet.

Stricken with worry, she wondered to herself, "Oh, just where could she be?"

Chibi Sailor Aomori, Senshi of Zashiki-Warashi | 6 + 8 + (no attack)

Much to her luck, not just from getting nearly crushed by massive natural projectiles, she was showered annoyingly by splinters coupled together with periodic gusts of wind. Aomori couldn't ask for a more terrible day than this.

Augh, it's as if that monster thinks we're nothing but small fry!" Aomori complained. Whether Hokkaido heard that or now hardly mattered since Aomori was now feeling quite irritated by forces that are bent on worsening her day.

"If you want to pick a fight with the illustrious Aomori, then you've made a mistake!" she cried in ardor at the distance.

For one, it was not terribly clear where she learned to utilize vocabulary beyond her grade level, but what is clear to those that are aware of her situation is that her respected Mentor Lepus has left a great deal of influence onto her most willing mentee. And with that, Aomori proceeded to begin initiating combat for real.

Daisy Grace | Roll 1 | 2

As she had sat in the cellar, the last thing Daisy had expected was to have the ceiling over her crack open with such a monstrous bang. As bricks and dust went flying in the air, she kept crouched down, managing to avoid being hit by any large chunks of debris. And once the dust had cleared, her heart leapt to see a hole big enough to escape through.

Moving quickly, she threw herself at the newly created exit, scrabbling and scaling until she could pull herself out and roll over onto her back to stare at the grey skies above the village. Taking a deep breath, she sat up and stared around, noting how there was a river and what looked like tiny twinkling lights just over the horizon. Those hadn't been there before! She would have remembered if she'd seen them when she'd gone out exploring. Was there a way out of this little hellhole after all?

Before she could think too much on it, the fog descended over the river and figures boiled out of it, so closely resembling the monster that Daisy felt sick to her stomach. Getting to her feet, she saw how they were massing and felt that it wouldn't be long before the mist monsters did something. Fortunately, thanks to the cellar cave-in, there were plenty of bricks to hand and she'd be more than happy to chuck them into some ugly faces.

Seizing the closest fragments to hand, she did just that, forgoing aim and simply hoping to hit anything that wasn't human.
