The air crackled briefly as they passed through the strange, electric tear. Contrary to the barrenness of the moon they were just on, they suddenly appeared in a dense forest. It was night, and difficult to see; trees climbed up to the sky.

It was a warm night and with the foliage as dense as it was, it was difficult to see much in the forest. And yet, in the distance, it was easy enough to make out another tear--from this world to the next.

Only, it was so far away.

Behind this group, the distant static that seemed to swallow everything.

...But in front of that, something moved.

It was impossible to see in this light, but you can hear it, you can feel it.

The ground trembles, and a loud, echoing roar rips through the forest.

Something horrible and huge and hungry is shoving past trees. You can hear them crack and crunch and fall.

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it can't see you--and it's getting closer.

Fast.

Quote:
In this dark forest, you can only make out three things: trees are everywhere, there's a gateway in front of you, and some sort of monster behind you. You don't have time to hope you can find somewhere to hide, or some way to find back--you just have to get out of here, before it gets you!

All characters must roll one 10 sided dice to proceed!

Quote:
If you roll between 8-10 you manage to find the easiest path through the forest; rocks, logs and trees are no match for you. You may find yourself tripping and stumbling occasionally, but for the most part, you've got a clear passage to safety so don't stop now!

If you roll between a 4-7 you manage to get a good start from whatever creature is chasing you, but the terrain proves to be difficult. You may find yourself tripping over rocks, logs, or vines, stumbling into holes, or--if you are particularly unlucky--running into trees. Overall you may wind up with a few scrapes and bruises on the way out, but you're far from the last one to safety.

If you roll between a 1-3, you are having a difficult time; logs, stumps, rocks, vines, and uneven terrain are your enemy. You may find yourself tripping and stumbling frequently, as well as crashing into trees. Branches may snap at you as you run by--but that's not the worst of it. The worst part is that the further behind you trail, the closer it gets. You may feel hot, wet breath on the back of your neck--or worse, a talon brushing against your back. The roars are almost deafening, and it sounds like a row of sharp teeth are snapping shut just behind you.

Please keep track of your roll totals in bold red font at the top of your post!

If you choose to, you may respond to a prompt from a lower number than you rolled, but you cannot respond to a prompt higher than what you rolled! You can only roll once per prompt and if you make a mistake, simply strike out your post. Please do not delete rolls! You may continue to RP between prompts. The next prompt will be posted in ~48 hours. While you can join at any point in the roleplay, you cannot make up lost rolls!

She made it past the aliens. She stopped only to catch her breath. This better be a dream. She didn't think she could keep running. She look around til she saw the forest in front of her. a few more steps and she would be there. A few more steps and she would be outside of this space like realm. She made her way forward but stopped. Who knew what was in the forest, what if it was more terrifying then aliens? She didn't get to think it over something was coming for her. She couldn't see it but could hear it. She ran fast toward the forest. She fell once or twice but manages to get back up.

Rayna Farrell
Rolls: 7, 10, 9
Total so far: 26

Having leapt through the tear in the space battle and finding herself in a dense nighttime jungle had Rayna cocking an eyebrow in disbelief. That disbelief lasted moments as the crashing sound from behind was paired with an unearthly roar. Realizing that staying put would be the worst decision ever Rayna took off like a bat from hell. The nimbleness that she exuded allowed the teen to avoid most of the obstacles in the darkened forest floor that seemed designed to trip those who were caught unawares. Ahh, but she could see just fine. Sooner rather than later Rayna felt as if she'd put enough distance between herself and whatever was pursuing everyone to hum a few lines of a song that took precedence in her mind. Surely it was apt to the situation - where else could she be amused that humming the parody song "Jurassic Park" as she stepped through the tear that would lead her out of this crazy place?

Nowhere else it seemed.

Alise (total: 27)

Alise was kind of ready to get off of Mr. Bones’ Wild Ride at this point, though a part of her lived for the adventure. It did suck that they weren’t getting a chance to really explore or investigate anything before being chased off, though. This time, the portal had taken them off the moon and to uh, somewhere with a lot of trees? The woods? Where, who knew, but there were trees and it was hard to see, and...

There was some kind of big creature behind them, apparently.

Although nothing could be seen in the darkness aside from the trees, Alise felt like this situation was almost a little familiar to the time she and Etoile had been sucked into the weird bottle dimension, where a t-Rex had smushed them flat, or rather, the dino had eaten Etoile and then stomped Lepus flat, but details! Either way, as much as Alise wanted a rematch, powering up was impossible right now, and she didn’t know what would happen this time around if she got turned into a pancake, and thus sadly, it seemed like it was time to get going once more. Another portal awaited, and Alise deftly crossed through the forest, the rocks and logs proving no match for her.

She’d get her revenge one day!

Morie (total: 11)

The latest portal dumped them out into the middle of a dark forest, and honestly, Morie was developing quite the headache at this point, both from the robots from earlier, as well as all this running around and reality warping that was currently occurring. It wasn’t that she was out of shape, but Morie hadn’t really planned on running a marathon today, which was what it was starting to feel like at this point.

Quite unfortunately, there wasn’t much time to stand around and deliberate over the finer details, as Morie felt the ground shake, and trees fall in the distance. Something big was coming their way, it would seem, because why wouldn’t it? At this point, Morie was convinced this was going to be how the night was going to go, constantly running from things, and jumping into strange portals.

Perhaps it was because she had already been starting to wear out from the constant fleeing from threats, or maybe it was really because of how dark and hard to see in this forest it was, but as she ran yet again, Morie found herself constantly getting stuck, tripping over fallen branches and rocks. That was certain to leave some bruises later on, but a bruise or two was definitely more preferable than being made a snack to whatever it was that was chasing them now.

As she continued to make her way through the underbrush, there were one or two times where she nearly had a close call with the creature chasing them, but finally, salvation came in the form of another rift, which Morie crossed through, hoping that this would be the one that took her back home.

Anming (total: 15)

It just never seemed to end, did it? Anming had barely a chance to recover when she found herself dumped in a dark forest, trees as far as the eye could see, reaching high into the sky and practically blocking out the night sky. She wondered how much longer this would go on, and wished it was all just some really surreal dream that she could wake up from.

Unfortunately, it was as real as it was going to get, and as much as Anming wanted to take a breather and just... get a chance to gain her bearings, a loud roar echoed through the forest, indicating that yet another threat was going to make itself known soon. Would she ever get a break? Anming had no idea.

In the meantime, the only thing she could do was keep running. She had trouble with gaining traction on the uneven ground, with the many obstacles in the way on the dark forest floor, and a few times even tripped. Anming could only hope that the friend she had borrowed the dress from would be alright if it ended up slightly damaged; she'd offer to pay for mending, even if if ended up being expensive...

Ilse (total: 14)

Ugh, ugh, ugh. Ilse was pissed enough at the fact that her night was ruined by the strange tv sending them to different worlds, but she was even more enraged at the fact that it had now sent them right smack in the middle of a forest. A forest, as in, that place with leaves and dirt and rocks, and everything that a proper lady wouldn't be caught dead running around in, at least not in fancy ball dress. This was some sort of giant cosmic joke, the same kind that had given her the magic powers she had, that didn't even do anything impressive. One day, Ilse would have Words with the powers that be, or whoever (or whatever) was causing all of this, but today was not that day.

She didn't get much time to fume about the situation at hand, perhaps fortunately for everyone else present, because everyone started running again, from some unseen monster that was headed straight for them. Grumbling some choice words under her breath, Ilse lifted her skirts once more, and followed after the others, headed for what she hoped would finally be a way out of this mess for good. Heels, yet again, weren't the best for running in, though, and a few times, Ilse tripped over some stray vines and rocks, getting her dress further dirty, but finally, she made it to the tear along with everyone else.

Ryan sighed with relief when he finally landed on sturdy ground. The moon had NOT been a fun place to be, that was for damn sure.

He glanced around, and, upon spotting the next crack, inhaled deeply and sprinted for it, not even waiting around to see what horror was coming next. It was getting increasingly clear his only way out of this was to just keep going and hope the cycle would eventually end.

He thanked whatever god was paying attention to him right now as he barrelled through the forest, leaping over logs, roots, and stones without so much as a stumble.

I hope it's ok I catched up before starting the new prompts so it's not too strange

Ariel who was watching how things were going on after bidding on her clock was surprised when suddenly the air changed. Like if the windows had been open, everyone felt washed over by a vortex like wind. She heard words about a television and a problem as it seems and then suddenly the lights in the room shut off as thunder rolls loudly above.
What is happening ? She didn't really had the time to hear from someone as the room changed in a kind of 50's movie place. And more than that, it was not a room anymore more like a full really dated town.

Every thing was retro and it seemed so weird. Men and women around her, but not the same people who were there just before. And suddenly they screamed. Something behind Ariel was scaring them. She turned to see what it was. An army of robots were marching towards them. "What is this?" she was so lost, but no time to think. Everyone was running away and she didn't understand the reason why but there was a kind of white static far behind and things where disappearing when touched by it.

She looked arround, running was fine, even in heels but where? She looked arround and then she saw down the road, some kind of split, a distortion in space, to get out of here maybe? Well no time for question so let's go find out.

Ariel then started running a toward the chasm. As she passed through she felt electrified, not in the "seems fun" way but more like real electricity in her body. She felt a little stunned but then she looked around, everything was dark now. As she saw Earth she thought "Ok I am in space now?" As a senshi she didn't really mind but it was still strange. She looked around and saw a space craft and astonauts wobbling around. And as she realized everyone was actually wobbling, as the gravity seems to not exist.

"Space, gravity, weightlessness, ok" she said while trying to put her skirt around her legs, not that anyone was paying attention if her panties where showing but in case.

Then again the astronauts seemed to be afraid of what was approaching behind. Though this time it was really small green aliens. Could have been cute if they were not starting to fire lasers at people. It hit the spaceship and this one exploded.

"Ok time to run out of here too" Ariel exclaimed while looking arround, searching for the same type of exist as in the previous place. There it was, farther beyond the astonauts. She tried to walk but couldnt so she tried to swim in this weightlessness gravity and somehow managed to arrived at the crack.

Again as she pass through the tear in space, she felt a little electricity.
But now everything was green, trees beyond what she could see. She was on the Moon just before, or so she guessed she was regarding the situation and now what? Amazon forrest? She was not sure but well she will not stay here and wait.

From the two different places she learnt something, first a threat will be coming and then there is a way out somewhere.

As she was thinking that here was the threat, a big loud roars behind her. Something was hungry and not happy. As she could her cracks and fall sounds of trees breaking and hitting the ground she knew it was coming her way. She couldn't see it but maybe it could see her, she was not waiting here to see if yes. So quickly she looked arround to find the electric tear.

"There it is" she said to herself, looks quite far but the beast or whatever is it sounded closer and closer. So she took her dress in her arm and start going through the trees.

Not easy to go with heels getting stuck in logs sometimes but she kind of manage to find a way toward the tear.

She fall sometimes, almost wanted to take of her shoes, but she thought if she got injured by something on the ground things would just be more complicated.

So she hang on and manage to arrive in front of the tear in one piece.

Liliane Benson
Rolls: 2 | 6 | 3
Total: 11

***********

Oh god, no sooner had she managed to get herself to 'safety' than she found herself stumbling her way through the madness that was a forest. To make matters worse she appeared to have fallen into something similar to the Blair Witch Project. Something was behind her, something was chasing her and it was being particularly insistent. She had little choice than to run, but despite her best efforts it seemed she wasn't entirely well versed in traversing woodlands.

This was something that took considerable effort to say the least and given her rather slow progress she was almost convinced that she was going to be devoured by whatever was after her.

What a way to go eh?

Devoured by something inside a tv...

She forced herself forward, slow progress was still slow and if she could just push herself a little harder then maybe she could find away out of this place and into an area that made more sense. At the very least, maybe she could find the next 'tear' thing and find terrain that was more forgiving. Thus, she pressed onward and did her best to ignore her budding company as it snapped at her heels.

This certainly wasn't one of her favourite moments, she'd take the man-eating plant any day over this.

Regula Wilder
Rolls: 9 | 2 | 2
Total: 13

***********

Regula really should have been grateful for the intervention from his companion, the mauvian had managed to land an exceptional catch and he should have been able to appreciate the aim. However, the fact that the thing that had caught him was the source of his irrational rage and fury was something that he didn't seem to have the capacity to ignore. Caught between tiny green men, their deadly lasers and his less than humble friend's scarf, Regula was a vision of thunderous anger at this particular point.

It would have made for an entertaining view - there floated a rather large man, entwined in a long scarf, which was being comfortably hauled along by a positively weightless Mauvian. Orias didn't even seem to be struggling in this atmosphere and he was more than happy to remind Regula of that. In fact, it didn't appear that the Mauvian was going to cease in his ramblings about it.

"If you are waiting for a particularly fetching catchphrase you will be disa -"

He never got to finish his sentence; they passed through the yawning abyss and it was with a sudden plummeting of his stomach that he came crashing down to earth. He tumbled through tree branches, leaves and finally undergrowth until he slammed unceremoniously into the ground. It appeared that gravity had restored itself to its normal measure and unless Orias had somehow managed to maintain that weightlessness then he was about to get a rather rough shock.

Regula wasn't the lightest man in the world.

Then again, was Orias?

He had just enough time to afford a glance upwards towards the canopy...

February Bloom
Rolls: 5 | 9 | 5
Total: 19

***********

Oh well this was going reasonably well now wasn't it? February was feeling relatively optimistic as she made her way through this fantastically odd dreamscape. It wasn't her usual scene and she rather missed her preference for period romance and the standard romantic comedy or sit-com dreams, but so long as she remained safe it would be all right - besides, if this turned out like the rest of her dreams then eventually the hero would be along!

Alas, her contemplation of who her hero might be or how he looked would have to wait. No sooner had she found herself in this odd little forest than she had company and it was relatively hungry. She knew better than to hang around even in her dreams and she was soon scuttling away as quickly as she could.

...Unsurprisingly, stilettos didn't do well in forests.

She did manage though, a few bumps and scrapes here and there as she pushed herself through the brush, but she was otherwise alright and did seem to be managing to keep away from her new friend.

So long as she kept going she'd managed to get out of here, this seemed to be the way of things this evening and she'd go with it for now!
