I dont get why people are so against the fact that all three characters love each other...
Sora and Kairi are destined to be connected through the paupu fruit (or however it's spelled XP) Sora and Riku are destined to be connected through Darkness and Light (being keyblade masters of dark and light)
Riku had always had feelings for Kairi (as did Sora) growing up. Kairi was the first to remember Sora's name (out of those who forgot) and Kairi was the only one to immediately recognize Riku while he was in his other form.
As much as people are like "Choose sides"... and as "taboo" as the idea is (especially coming from Disney), the story really supports the three of them, together, a threesome that actually exists. Sora x Kairi x Riku; I understand fangirls are all "Sora and Riku yaoi is so hot!" (and while im not a girl id agree), and in drawings they're a cute couple, but to search for evidence of Kairi NOT being meant for BOTH OF them, "Because she's a b***h" (which, there's nothing bitchy about her) is just dumb.
That said, one of KH2's major themes was Sora and Riku's relationship... so if it's in the theme song I wouldnt doubt it.
EDIT: PS: Some lines sound like "I need to show true emotions." "So many ups and downs" (which that line was crystal clear during the stairs sequence) and "But you'll never know"... which all can relate to Sora in different ways. Also, while Kairi is being shown some lines seem to relate to Sora's feelings for her, "I wish I was your hero" "I left you alone" sound kinda shaky but there. "I love you more than you'll ever know" and "But you left me out" both sound shakey but there during both Riku and Kairi scenes. I dont know if any of it has relevance but just thought id add. "I need more affection than you know" is another obvious one, not shakey at all, crystal clear like the "Ups and downs" line.

While I agree, I really haven't seen anything beyond friendship between Riku and Kairi. The person who wrote that dissertation explains pretty well what I mean. I think I said this in another thread.

*off-topic-mallet aims...* Same. I seriously doubt that Riku ever seriously had feelings for Kairi, despite everything he did for her in KH1. D:

Hm, there was a debate going on on some thread somewhere about whether there are secret backwards lyrics or not. No conclusion was made, though.
