Sunsong followed the cat and his son further into the church, checking over her shoulder to make sure her patrol was with her. Despite the dog, it was nice. Sheltered. When the sky opened up tonight, as it surely would, they would be dry and warm. She gave a curious sniff at the dog called Son, watching his whip-like tail wag happily. Were they safe? SunClan believed so, and, after swallowing the knot of anxiety that stuck in her throat, she let herself relax. SunClan would not lead her clan wrong. After scoping out the church and discussing the arrangements with the cat known as Preacher, they agreed that they would stay, with a small caveat. Two apparently. "Kittens, you say? MountainClan would never leave kits to die, and I'm sure Goldenleaf would agree." Her deputy held kits in the highest regard, one of the reasons why she had chosen her. "I will ask her to feed them as long as she is able. Assuming you allow us to hunt on your territory, of course. Hungry mothers make for hungry kits, you know."With the arrangements made, Sunsong lead the group back to the clan, sighing in relief to see that Golden had yet to give birth. "Goldenleaf, we have found you a safe place to bear your kits. Sunclan has spoken, everyone there is friendly and excited to help." She paused, wondering if it were the right time to let them know about the talking dog. She chewed her lip a moment but decided that they should know, "The leader there, his name is Preacher. He has... He has befriended a dog." Before the cats could react, she pushed onward, "SunClan has blessed this place and promised that it is safe! I have faith in our ancestors and know that they would not lie." She returned her attention to Golden, "I have heard this dog speak. He will not harm you. Besides..." A worried flash glinted in her icy eyes, "There are kits there, two of them. Small and nearly drowned with no mother to call their own. They need milk. Do you think you could help them?"

Bloodoath gave a soft hiss at the word dog. But then perked his ears. At least it would be dry... He could feel the storm in his fur and he glanced to Goldenleaf. She was sure to accept the kittens. He pinned his ears back looking at the fish at his paws. To keep her fed.... for his own kits was enough of a challenge. He looked to Goldenleaf, hoping she would refuse the kits that werent hers, that werent even mountain clan.... but knowing she wouldnt. He waited, calmly, for Sunsong to pull them onward. He carried the fish over by Goldenleaf and gave her a curious look. He figured she didnt want it right now, but perhaps after would be good. "Are you ok to get there?"
DawnBreak moved up by Sunsong as she returned. She waited respectfully but she bounced excitedly from paw to paw. Once a break in Sunsong talking happened she whispered excitedly. "Sunsong.... I found the split... the split in the river!" She flicked an ear. She needed to inform sunsong, but the thought of the river splitting, and the clan splitting. "Do you think this means.... that maybe we are almost home?!"

Sunsong and her patrol returned to the clan, and Pigeonflight could not be anymore relaxed. She approached the surrounding cats, looking for any sign of danger, or something. Preacher, another clan's leader. Befriending a dog? Pigeonflight did not know what dog meant, but she got the idea that it was something that was trouble, considering Bloodoath's reaction.
She pushed it away, to hear what Dawnbreak had to announce. It had to be important considering how the warrior was so antsy. "We're almost home?" she repeated in a pitch.

The ripples of pain that Goldenleaf did her best to hide left them with little time to dwell on the possibilities. With a commanding yowl, she called her clan to her, just as the first drops of rain began to fall. As the cats began to move, Dawnbreak approached her, the young cat's tail raised high with excitement. "You found it? The split in the river?" She could not help the joy in her voice. Today was going to be a glorious day, "Thank SunClan! We will be sure to explore it well. First, we must get to the nest, Goldenleaf is kitting!" She smiled at the she-cat, pride in her voice, "I'll have you lead the first patrol out, once everyone has settled and eaten. Now, come."Skysong lead her clan back to the abandoned two-leg, forcing herself to remain calm as they filed past the crooked wooden slab, hoping that her demeanor would clam those around her. There was no time for fear now. It was almost time. They were almost home.

Quote: Weeks passed and the sweltering heat faded. Green leaves changed to gold and red. As MountianClan began their search of the lands around the divided river, they felt a crispness to the air. Leaf-fall was upon them and change was everywhere. Change and kittens. Sunsong's respect for Goldenleaf increased ten fold when she had learned that the deputy had been carrying and successfully birthed five healthy kits. In addition to the fish-named kits, she had happily scooped up the two orphans Preacher had brought to her. All seven kits were growing strong, much to the pleasure of MountainClan. Well, maybe not all of MountainClan. Sunsong had noticed her clan breaking apart. It hurt her heart, watching them speak of the new places they had found. Cats of all ages were coming together, embracing SunClan's prophecy to split as the river had. She knew it was going to happen, but that did not mean she would not miss them all terribly. It happened faster than she expected. Unhappy with how Sunsong was running the clan, especially the addition of the two small scraps, not even of MountianClan blood, pushed his ambitions to the forefront. He began speaking out, saying how things would be done if he were the leader. And to Sunsong's dismay, there were cats who agreed with him. And so, BloodClan was the first to split. Once Bloodoath and his followers departed, she thought that that was it. After all, the river only split twice. She couldn't lose more cats, could she? But she would. Robinpaw surprised her. The young cat hadn't quite earned her warrior name, but, in the time it took them to find their new home, she had earned the respect of many of her peers. So when Robinpaw told Sunsong of her idea of a tree-walking clan, while it hurt her heart to see them go, she was undeniably proud. The last divide hurt the most. In the weeks it had taken for her to recover from the birth, Goldenleaf had made fast friends with Lilacmoon. She thought nothing of their whisperings and jovial laughs. She had grown close to the two she-cats and their kittens, but they too felt the pull of the river. MoonClan was the last to leave and without the noise of the kits and their mothers, MountainClan grew quiet. Sunsong could no longer stand the drastic difference of the two-leg nest and its cat-speaking dog. With the last of her clan at her tail, she lead them to the only place she had found that felt like home. And with that, the prophecy had been fulfilled. MountainClan had split but survived. But their story does not end here. No. This is just the beginning.
