The Hero of this Story

Name: Aurelia

Physical Description: Aurelia is fairly tall for a woman, standing at five foot ten inches tall. She has a slender frame though her figure can be considered more boyish then particularly feminine. Her eyes are almond shape with the irises being a beautiful grey color. Her light brown hair is cut short and normally worn a couple of inches long and messy. She doesn't care much about spending time with styling it. Her ears are pierced in multiple places as well.
Personality: From such an early age Aurelia has been a force to reckon with. While seemingly sweet to many, Aurelia hides many of her sides. She has always been a young woman who liked to get into things she shouldn't, sometimes ultimately getting into trouble and perhaps making her father's hair go prematurely grey. Aurelia is an adventurous soul, loving to explore and leave the weyr at times with Wolveth to explore the cave systems around western.

Hand in hand with her adventurous side, Aurelia is daring. She is never one to back down from anything and enjoys doing things that many might be afraid of. She will often drive Wolveth crazy sometimes with how daring she can be, wanting to go for the hardest choice or action instead of the easiest.

Though it may seem weird, Aurelia is actually a very dutiful wingrider as well as daughter. While she may go out of her way to explore and try for the hardest path, she does her best to make sure she does everything that is asked of her. She also likes to spend time with her father and enjoys the times they get together. She also does her best to look after her younger brother as he is a candidate.

If it was because of how doting her father has always been or just a part of her personality, Aurelia can be a bit demanding. If there is something she wants she will easily demand she have it. This got her into a lot of trouble when she was younger as she would often get into fights with the other weyrbrats because of this trait. As she has grown Aurelia learned how to change her demanding nature from being fickle and wanting material things to being very demanding of herself, Wolveth and her fellow wingriders.

Aurelia has never been a very patient soul. Never one to sit still or stay in one place for too long, it can be hard for her to stay put at Western though the urge to fight thread helps to combat this. She doesn't like to wait through long conversations, always twitching in some way if she has to stay still for so long. This can also make her relationships a bit strained as she does not have the patients at times to wait for them to make a move.

Getting into arguments seems to be a specialty of Aurelia. She will not take anything lying down and will stand up for herself as well as her family and friends. She does her best to keep from letting the arguments get too out of hand though she has been known to say some very cutting words that she has regretted before.

History: Life was never meant to be normal for Aurelia. She was born to H'ral of bronze Sigurath. She was placed into the cerche at first though her father eventually took her into his weyr and doted on her. To say the young girl wasn't spoiled would be an understatement. She grew up adoring and idolizing her father and enjoyed spending time with Sigurath as well.

From an early age Aurelia was always getting into trouble and seen without skinned knees and dirt covering her faces. This didn't change even after she entered candidacy, though she threw herself into her studies and chores while still making time to visit with her father when there was time.

When she was thirteen years old, Aurelia was gifted with a little brother. As a candidate she had more time then her father did to help care for the babe and she did her best to help him. She adored spending time taking care of her younger brother and it has gotten them to become very close to this day.

At the age of twenty, Aurelia stood on the sands once more, like she had done so many times before. She didn't expect for anything to change this time, to find her bonded and she was quite surprised when a beautiful brown made his way to her, past the other boys and stared straight up at her with whirling eyes. He didn't speak except to acknowledge her name and speak his as the young woman fell to her knees and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Becoming a wingrider like her father had always been Aurelia's dream and she had figured she would be destined for a green and perhaps a blue, not a brown dragon and yet her Wolveth had found her. She worked hard to show that she was deserving of the choice he made. Even at Western a women on a brown was still an anomaly, though Wolveth was quite certain in his choice.


Six years later, Thread returned, something that Aurelia had not ever thought would happen. She had thought that dragonriders were a thing of the past and not needed, secretly hoping that she and Wolveth would get the chance to leave and explore the world, but that soon changed into a determination to focus and fight the falling thread from the sky, to keep her brother, family and weyr safe.

Name: Wolveth

Color: Brown
Size: 31'
Physical Description: Although he is the smallest that a brown can get, Wolveth is not lean. A very muscular and bulky frame is seen underneath his burnished hide. His tail, neck and wings are a bit smaller though they fit his frame perfectly. His coloring is a beautiful orangish red that Aurelia likes to fawn over, saying he looks like the rising and setting of the sun.
Personality: Wolveth is about as wild as you can get. He has a fancy for just about any gold, though the tougher ones seem to catch his eye the most. Some can call him more of a wild beast then an impressed dragon, with his tendency to anger at some of the slightest insults to him or his rider. He enjoys looking for a fight, though he has tempered this side of himself as he has gotten a bit older, it still has a tendency to slip out.

Although in a weyr, Wolveth prefers to be alone, with just he and Aurelia. He doesn't care for too much company and has always been a loner at heart.

Even though his personality seems rough and brutish, Wolveth is actually very cunning and has quite the strategic mind. He always seems to have a good awareness of his surroundings and what is going on around him, as well as a great ability to read a persons character very well. He will often relay this information back to Aurelia and is very protective over her.
