While it was TOTALLY possible that Sol could avoid the Smoochum entirely, avoiding both a battle and a mess. On the otherhand was the possibility to harvest the Pokemon's lips for his own gain. He had something sharp now after all. Ah bless his greedy heart.
Kneeling close to Umbra, the young trainer would whisper a command.
In response to it, his Golett would toptoe towards the Smoochum, sneaking up behind it before slamming his fist and shouting loudly ">BOOOOOOOOOO!<" It was an Astonish! Sort of!
Starter Pokemon: Golett Name & Level: Umbra, Lv 3 [Temperament] Brave Bio: Shaped from clay and given life centuries ago, this Golett was created with a singular purpose: to serve the people of his homeland. In times of peace that meant simple feats of strength, hauling limber and iron. In times of war...acts far more grim in nature. His last images of a world long lost to the sands of time, were of his comrades and redness of flame. Then....darkness.
When he rose again it was to the shattered ruins of what once was, and the broken forms of other Golett. He wandered the remains of the castle for a time, but departed before long. There was no point in protecting a land which had been forgotten by the ages, and so he went in search of a new "purpose". It was this same search that would lead him to the tunnels beneath Roshan City. A veritable maze, the tunnels see frequent use by smugglers and those of less than legal enterprises. It was here that he encountered Sol, and where he found purpose once more. Dubbed "Umbra" by the boy, he once more found himself with a home and people to serve; but in his ticking "heart" he knew it was only a matter of time before he once more graced the battlefield.

The Sneasel parried the ball, but only barely, catching the hinge with his claws. Of course he couldn't expect the human to stay on the sidelines! Humans were terrible, terribly nosy and interfering... with a snarl, he'd shift his weight backwards, stealing glances between Altair and Deneb. A tricky situation to be in, to be sure, but he'd pull through! He had to...

The Smoochum would start up, taking a deep breath as she did so... before throwing herself into deep, deep thought. Seemed she was planning a Nasty Plot!

Nim's breathing had finally evened out. It wasn't totally her fault she was so panicked; it had been an exciting ride down the mountain so fair. Honestly, was this what being a proper trainer was like? Pokemon launching themselves out of nowhere to attack them? That sounded miserable and scary... but a part of her had to admit, it was more interesting than being at home.

Starter Pokemon: Mimikyu [F] Name & Level: Eins, Level 3 [Temperament] Lonely Bio: Eins spent most of her pre-capture time haunting a candy store and sneaking free lollipops into the pockets of screaming children. She'd have been content to stay that way but for the will of the cult. Indeed, she was actually caught by Nim's sponsor, and given to the girl in an attempt to give her a step up when it came to fighting. The sponsor also has a slightly better sense of humor than Nim-- giving a Mimikyu a Mimikyu! No one could count on Nim's dislike of Pokémon being quite as... intense as it was, for the girl can barely stand to look at her starter. Nim couldn't even name the creature properly, just giving it a number for a name. For her part, Eins isn't too fussed; humans are strange, and she'll melt her trainer's heart one way or another... possibly by giving it a heart attack, but still. The Deino would ram its maw into a nearby tree instead, missing Trust. "I guess the fact that Deino is blind, works in our favor. Trust, give him another Shadow Sneak!!!!: Trafalgar yelled.
It had been close, but it seemed Deino missed his attack, a nearby try erupting into flames. This was her chance to attack, a strong Shadow Sneak! Hopefully it would land.

Altair's nose scrunched up. He lost a precious pokeball and the element of surprise. He wasn't about to quit now though. Even if he wanted to, he'd need more than a pitiful little bug if he wanted to explore this mountain as thoroughly as he would like.
"On your feet, Deneb." he commanded, and the cutiefly promptly straightened up, buzzing away as he got ready to dodge once more.
It may not have hit the intended target, but at least it definitely knew where that tree was! Snapping it's jaws and tearing off a strip of torched bark to consume, the Deino started running around again as it tried to find the Ralts. The smell of smoke was making it a little harder but he had the general direction!...probably.
Making her way through the snow, would find herself met with her second Sandshrew of the day. Not that she'd be able to tell right away. With a hide as white as snow, and claws like knives, it hard not to recognize this as the Alolan breed. One could only imagine how two distinct members of the same species inhabited the same mountain.
This specimen in particular would come sliding across the ice like a hockeypuck, smacking into a snowbank and flailing it's legs. It would appear while attempting to travel swiftly, it had now gotten stuck.
As it happened, it would seem that Umbra's cry was just loud enough to break the Smoochum's concentration; though not enough to do much of anything else. Well one good try deserved another. So without need of command the Golett would try to Astonish his foe better....by shoving the rock out from under her!

Trust's attack would miss once again. She...was having trouble seeing, herself. This jungle was dark, and the Deino was dark as well. Trust would need to focus better when she was attacking. For now, she would need to dodge Deino's next incoming attack, she ran to a different tree and hid behind it. This was like a game of...hide and seek.
See...or rather not seeing....how well fire worked out before, the Dieno would choose another tactic. Well, tactic was probably a loose term in regards to Pokemon. Thrashing about like a dimwitted beast, the Deino would begin crashing with all it's weight into whatever object proved nearest. It was a haphazard form of TACKLE!

/Taking orders from a human,/ the Sneasel snarled viciously, glaring up at Deneb. /How can you live with yourself?/ Even if the Cutielfly hovered high above him, the Sneasel was looking down on his opponent. But not for long. Hissing, he leapt into the air, aiming for another Crunch!

Nim completely ignored the Sandshrew, choosing to keep her steady pace forward. For all she knew, Pokemon LIKED flailing in the snow. Eins might have been curious and wanting to help, but she needed to keep close to her trainer.

The Smoochum quacked loudly, flailing her flippers in the air. He was getting rid of her tanning chair! The fiend! Well, if he was going to try and surprise her, maybe she should try and surprise him... instead of trying to dodge, she started flapping her her flippers harder and harder... maybe she could take off and keep from falling in pain? Wouldn't THAT be Astonish-ing?
Trafalgar breathed in a sigh of relief as the Deino ran into a large tree...not anywhere near Trust. This battle so far was proving hopeless for both of these Pokemon, they both needed some light or vision in this dark jungle. Nevertheless, Trafalgar knew he was lucky that the Deino had missed. "Another chance, focus Trust, Trust in me and trust in yourself, Shadow Sneak!"
Trust would listen to Trafalgar's words and concentrate hard before sending another Shadow Sneak, Deino's way.
