"I'm self-taught," said Optimist. "I'm great at finding sticks. Not as great as my brother, but there you have it." The stick she picked had a bee on it at first, but it quickly flew away after she shook it a few times. It was forked only at the end, so it wasn't pokey at all in the mouth. She tossed it happily.

 Something More picked a flowery branch from the pile, shaking it excitedly in front of the other kin. Playfully, she gave it a long throw and watched, smiling, as the acha gave chase.

Light in the Ocean looked around behind the bushes and troves until he came across one that was brown and white in colour and quite light. He was happy he found something cool. With that, he threw, and Dog immediately went after it.

The stick Hears the Tides picked out looked like it could have been driftwood - thick, a little soft, and colored a faded grey. Perhaps it wasn't ideal to be thrown long distances, but it did seem to almost float when it was.

"Do you like grape-flavored sticks? I kind of soaked mine in grape juice for a while to get it this color." Fermented grape juice, at that, but Constant Contact wasn't going to make mention of it.
Seemed like it was a go. It helped that the stick had been smoothed down by its time in the juice - it went into the mouth easily, without sticking or catching.

Sleeps' stick was just a stick, boring and plain in every way. He was quite good at tossing it, apparently, and that was what counted, though he was a little disappointed he wasn't a stick finding master.

Light just found a drabby half moldy stick to use. The taste in his mouth was not that great. it tasted bitter. He turned himself in three full circles and lobbed the stick. It seemed to excite Dog. "Well at least it worked."

Ember throws another stick like a pro, and is super glad he can make a good throw out of a relatively okay stick. Don't need the best stick in the world to throw far right?! He takes his token and cheerily skips off, hoping for a chance to fetch himself sometime.

Seeing is Believing was not sure about the stick he had found. it was light and dry but brown. so it passed in his eyes. Taking a wide leap into the air, he whipped his head back and flung the stick. It seemed to have excited Dog for some reason.

Kin were weird, thought First to Strike. And yet - who was he to judge? "Grumble, pick one for me," he said. Grumble picked a smooth stick with a fork that curved back in on itself - very interesting, at least.

It doesn't matter what kind of game or who's playing. He'd even have fun if the game was actually work made to look like a game. Like who can catch the most fish, or fill the shell with berries faster. So when I found and acha wanting to play fetch, he was all for finding a stick. And boy was it a great stick! It was long and slightly curved, so that when he tossed it, it made a *thwump thwump thwump* sounds ans it spun through the air. And he flung it far too, giving Dogs a chance at a nice long run to chase it.

Chickadee and Liquorice walk up to the booth, catching up on all the family gossip while they're at the market. They don't fully get why the Acha wants a stick, but go off to find one. Several hours later, they still haven't found a stick. Well, they have. But neither can agree that it's good enough. Unable to face the plucky Acha's disappointment, they sneak off.

With or Without dragged his stick over to the booth with a rather triumphant grin. He'd dug this stick straight out of the brush and it was quite a specimen, if he could say so himself. Thick, not too heavy, pattered with all sorts of pretty bark... What was there not to like about this stick?

No More Waiting came to drown her dancing sorrows in easy feats of strength. She pulled an ordinary, stout, brown stick from the pile and expertly flung it far into the distance.
