Chris Watts || 25/25 || living embodiment of shrug emoji
Chris gave a glance at Gloom, glad to see he was about and around. He liked him, better than Dee (who had been mentioned) and was glad to see him. It was seemed the consensus was point to Adoelle and Chris, while he didn't like it, he'd support her decision to try and do this. To help break the cage and turn the tide in their favor. She was strong for it and he wouldn't try and stop her decision if it was what she wanted.
"I'll put my vote towards Jer, or Algie," Chris spoke up, looking around. "I think they could do it and I support them. Or I'll do it, if no one else wants to."

algernon mercer || 25/25 || objection "I object to Jack," Alg raised a couple fingers, "No offense. I just don't know you... and I don't think 'detached' is what I want trying to bribe the council to our cause. We've got to convince them, some of them anyway, to support us." Shouldn't there be determination behind the effort? The professor rubbed his cheek, glancing around at some of the faces, he'd choose Shun over a near stranger if only because he would be sure the other had his facts down and had been actively trying to help. He didn't know anything about Jack. When Chris spoke up he smiled a bit, he could definitely nominate Chris. "We still need to decide our cause. And as much as I said I want to destroy the cage, I think you were also on to something about Sunny, Shun, and it's worth us all considering every angle."

Shun Kuroda 25/25 "Well good. Because I would not like to see the Destroyer again if possible. Also you are a strange creature," he said to Gloom. Shun looked back up to the others, folding his arms over his chest once more. It didn't matter too much who they ended up nominating, as long as they could get the job done. "Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about Sunny. But apparently she is capable of ascending... somehow. I am uncertain if breaking the cage furthers or detracts from that," he commented, "We do need to decide some course of action, however. Time is fleeting and if we have no plan, chances are things will go exactly as Melany wants it to."That was the last thing he wanted.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || objection as well "I object as well. While in some cases a wild card would work, I do not believe it would in this case. It is better to send in someone who has full knowledge, or at least some knowledge, of just what they are about to try and advise those on the council about." Jeremiah shifted, his shoulders rolling. "You are going to be making a case, trying to persuade them, and that requires both knowledge and knowing how to read your enemies." The truth was that Jeremiah would not send in anyone that was not, so far as he knew, a dreamer like the rest of them. It would be sending in a sheep to a den of wolves. "Sunny will have to be dealt with eventually. If that is ascending here, then so be it, but this may also just empower the Enemy." Wouldn't they be returning a piece of it? Jeremiah was not sure that it was a good idea but he was no longer at the point that he would flinch at Sunny's death (that friendship, the fall of it, still lurked in the back of his mind. "It would likely be best to follow Adoelle's wishes and put her forth. As I said before, we may disrupt the court in the favor of the Sorrowful One if we further push the cage to falling. Especially given that Melany wishes it to not break."

Lily Babineaux (Maskless): 25/25 - Hanging out in the peanut gallery Lily was more than content to sit back and listen to the others talk--most of this was new information for her, and it answered a number of questions that, in retrospect, she probably should have had. Mostly, she watched Nathaniel, just as bold and clever as the other members of the debate, and from her detached position she couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of pride at choosing to have him come along. There are those who would have wanted to protect mundane humans from the otherworld, but Lily disagreed--bringing Nathaniel along was getting the group a lot further than if they'd stuck with just stuffy magic types. "Hey," she said softly, once he wasn't in direct line of speaking. "You're, umm...kind of awesome at all this. You sure you're not some secret fae prince or something?" She leaned back to look at Gloom as he meandered over, and her eyes lit up. "Look who's fancy now," she said, unable to contain the smile on her face.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - peanut gallery-ing it up
There was a sudden warmth in Nathaniel's arms as Gloom came leaping nimbly over. He smiled down at the creature, smoothing fingers over the top of his head again and feeling a pleasant sort of warmth that accompanied the wistful longing for a pet that always seemed to arrive at the most inconvenient of times.
Like holding Connor's dog hostage, for instance, but that was beside the point.
Beside him, Lily's presence was somehow reassuring, because it was something normal and simple; a reminder that his life outside of this was quiet and familiar, tutoring and studying and going to classes and planting his garden. Nathaniel glanced sideways at her, letting out a startled laugh.
"No," he said, smiling at her. "No, I...am just guessing completely here."
His eyes moved down to the creature in his arms, his voice quieting, Nathaniel letting out another laugh, though this one was thicker in his throat, less humor and more subdued.
"I have no idea what I'm doing, really," he said softly. "I wish I could be of more use."

Lady: 25/25, wat "I can't be chosen as a representative," says Lady. "I'm still a tithe, you know." She leans against Eve, shifting to bring her feet up to the loveseat next to her. "They won't pick Gloom, either, for all he's the bravest and best ever." Gloom got a small, shy smile. "The seventh selector is always human. It's tradition. They won't break it just for shits and giggles." She patted the side of the loveseat where she sat with Eve, waving the fingers of her free hand at Finn.

"I, I vote Alg." He said cautiously. "No offence Dad,or to anyone else. Dad, you've had some pretty heavy dealings in the past with the Burning Man. I just worry that you might loose credibility if they thought you were too tied to him." He shuffled.
"...But Alg, he's been in this for a long time, he knows more things than what we've learned at this Ball. So...While I know we have some very new dreamers here like Isobell, and we have some non dreamers like....He waved a hand towards his former roomie."
He rubbed the back of his neck. "I'd say we should try for Mellanie, because things feel very off there. but" he added cautiously. "We also need to consider if they will accept her as tithe. If she's stepped in as court ruler it might be more complicated than that, I don't know."

Finn | 25/25 | taking a seat w/ Lady Finn didn't have to be told twice - he skillfully wove his way across the room and joined Lady on the loveseat. "You never know until you try," he said, looking over at Zac. "Can't be any harm in bringing up the suggestion." Unless someone turned on you and ran straight to Melany. But who would do something so grade school? "If everyone else is voting for Algie, so will I," he said. "Good to have someone representing us who we know won't go rogue with the votes."

[25/25 | EVE]
"Algernon has my confidence if that's the consensus," Eve agreed. Smirking a bit, she added, "Politeness practically runs in his blood. He'd certainly be able to play the part."
[20/25 | LEILA]
"Um, I get the worries about Sunny, but let's maybe avoid spilling a teen witch's blood in a ritual that partially determines how hard the final boss is gonna be." Leila squinted with stress from beneath her mask. She really hated all these variables. And magic.

connor hill - 25/25 - idek Connor had relaxed in his chair through all of the conversation, the back and forth's, the short arguments, and it was only when some semblance of an actual plan began to be discussed that he finally sat up straight, leaning forward with his arms resting on his knee's and his fingers steepled. Eyes flickered to Chel and Temperance when they left, barely a wave was given to Juniper when she stood up to go as well. They had their little missions, and he was not a part of it. No, actually, he didn't feel like he was much of a part of any of it. He was disconnected, unable to formulate his own opinions of matters simply because of his own lack of knowledge, which came from being so damn new to all of this. Finally, he spoke up, nonchalantly rising out of his chair and stretching. "I agree that whoever is chosen to sit on the council should be knowledgeable." He approached, and eyed those gathered. Of them, he knew only a few. "But I don't know you." He turned to Alg. "So I could make the same ******** objection that you just made about my friend." A glance was given Chris's way. "Him. I'll back him." He didn't feel a need to explain why. His decision was based on his own personal experience, and he wasn't going to sit there and defend it. They could all just do whatever the ******** they wanted to do (and they probably would, anyways). Everyone still lurking about iloveyouDIExx for briefly speaking to Alg

wil azevedo || 25/25 || chillin with boyfriendo and friendos From their pod of newbs in the corner, Wil listened halfway as they discussed the murder business. When the lady with the red hair spoke up he smiled, "Hey I met a lady who.. well I think looks just like you." He had a good eye for faces and she'd looked like a freakin model. This lady in the fox mask seemed to sport all the same lines. "She told me there were cells here that were um... enchanted with truth. Does that matter? Did you guys find those?" He hadn't remembered until he saw the lady in red speak. "She said maybe we could use them. I totally forgot."

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || not even thinking about it "Where would there be offense?" Jeremiah shook his head when Zac spoke. "I cannot actually say that I would be able to be around them for an extended period time as there is at least one person that is here that has my number, possibly two." Sunny made his head spin in a far too familiar way that lead to either him being unconscious or a seizure and there was, for all he knew, a change that he could have that happen at an inopportune moment. The detective lieutenant looked around the room and then to his husband. "I'll support Alg." It was almost a given though their personal goals were not always the same. Jeremiah wanted the cage to fall but he truly wanted Melany done away with. It would have to be another time because he would always back Algie's decisions. "If there's anyone here that will be able to play the part that the human representative is meant to play, it's him. That includes swaying them where we want them." The mention of cells that could tell the truth- that was interesting but at this point did they truly have time?

Chris Watts || 25/25 || hopin to reach a vote soon
Chris was willing to stay back during the discussion of votes - everyone was backing Alg, which he felt confident about. He raised an eyebrow at Connor, but let it be. He had suggested himself, after all.
Finally adding his own two cents, Chris said "I think I would prefer Adoelle, as much as I hate to admit it. Melany would be a good try but if she doesn't want to break the cage, then there's a good chance Adoelle being the tithe will shake her position and we could pull her down from there. Melany is going to try and tithe those she brought, so Adoelle probably gives us our best fighting chance."
He stared at Wil, but said nothing else. He didn't know how they would find the cells, much less use them in time.

Shun Kuroda 25/25
Tapping his fingers against his arms, he looked to the ones who seemed like they were the main candidates. But that wasn't the only thing going on through his head right now. There was something about cells but... he had no idea where those were, honestly. If they could find those, they might be able to make use of them... if they were also able to get certain parties inside as well. It might have been something good to know about earlier.
"I am in favor of weakening the cage, and in turn possibly weakening Melany. The only issue there is that we do not know what will happen to the current tithes - if we can somehow bring them home aftewards."
His eyes flicked over to Alg.
"Assuming I can get close enough to the current council without them getting too pissy, I will back Algernon as well."
