"I told you I'm going to call you Dun until you earn the other name" Index said firmly. "And maybe I have been rude, if I have it's an accident. People just can't handle how honest I am frankly. I was hoping you'd be a little bit thicker skinned than all that."
He shrugged. "The teachers are here to set the examples though, not me."
He was very slow at setting up the tent, obviously not used to physical exertion or much manual dexterity either. "I wish they'd given us proper instructions."

Bebe was about to respond to Samhain when the bus came to an abrupt halt. Sitting up eagerly, she tried to peer over him and out the window, wondering what she'd see. The answer was, naturally, a forest. Letting out a little dramatic sigh, she said determinedly to herself, "The adventure begins!" Patiently waiting for the others to get off the bus ahead of her, she smiled at Samhain once more. "People can be scary, but I reckon this forest is gonna test even your bravery," she responded wisely with a solemn nod, before giggling and turning away. "This is a big group though... Maybe I should have brought a less, erm, bright coat so that I didn't stand out quite so much to the monsters," she mused, sinking into her fluffy, oversized pink coat.
Once there was a gap in the flow, Bebe slid out of her seat and beckoned for Samhain to follow (remembering to ask him more about his studies later), listening attentively to Claire's instructions once she was off the bus. Grinning once she was sort into Samhain's group, she turned to him with a mocking smile, "I guess you're stuck with me!" A few moments later the reality of their task set in and she winced, turning slowly to look at the daunting forest on all sides, "and I'm stuck with the forest..." Biting her lip, she moved towards a patch of trees, only just remembering she wasn't the best at physical labour. After what seemed like hours of intensive work - although in reality it was hardly more than a few minutes - Bebe produced one small bit of wood that could, technically, be used in a fire. "Ugh... so much work..." she moaned, throwing her meager contribution onto the the group's pile.

The Dryad paused for a moment to look around at her. She sucked in a deep breathe, savoring the flowery scents, and that of the trees. She stooped to pick up another stick for the collection. It felt so good to be back Above! ... Even if this wasn't her village, it was glorious none the less.
Nadinia grabbed a second small stick, and then headed back towards the clearing, to add her two stick the pile. Perhaps she should have sought out more wood on this trip...

 Wood CollectorAmount of wood the group has: 98 Seeing as his seatmate wanted to look out the window he tried leaning back as far as he could, although it wasn’t really that much considering his wings where behind him. “Haha well we’ll definitely see,” he replied, and then winced as he finally moved his wings a bit, “although I wonder if carriage companies factor in Nightmares or daydreams that have wings. Then again that could be the real reason we’re stopping. As for the coat, well they say that brightly colored things in nature are normally poisonous so they might go after some of the less bright colored people first and they’re more likely to go after those that are by themselves... if there are any dangerous creatures around, and they did say to pack warm clothing so as long as it keeps you warm.”
“Looks that I am, although I wonder if our tour group just took one side of the bus and made them tent pitchers and the other half to get the wood.” He commented, although he did have to hide a smile when Bebe mentioned being stuck with the forest. However he didn’t have a chance to make a comment on it as he briefly returned to the camp to drop off his first pile of wood, and then remet with her as he came back for the second pile. “Well it’s easier than trying to pitch a tent, that’s for certain. Especially since Tents I swear have a mind of their own and I’ve always had to fight them every time I wanted to pitch one.” He tried not to pick up as many as last time, especially since Bebe seemed to be having trouble. He picked up another piece of wood bringing his total up to 8. Ah well the faster he got pieces of wood, the closer they would get to five hundred the more the people who weren’t so good at physical labor could get this over with faster.

Tent Maker Amount of tents the group has made: 3 Harley gave it another try before getting some real advice from anyone and it turned out like the last few attempts. She was hopeless. She sat there doubtful that she could be of any help to the group. he tail trailed lazily in the dirt as she contemplated her next move, trying not to look as discouraged as she felt.

Wood Collector Amount of wood the group has: 99  Aurora sighed she wasn't able to find almost any good wood on her next trip into the woods, maybe she needed to find someone to go walking with her for next time out, two sets of eyes were better than just one right?? Aurora brought back her sad offering and sat it down, then started looking around for someone to go out with her next time to hunt for more wood. Besides soon it would likely be dark enough that she would be better off not going alone. OOC Rp welcome, quote if intrested.

 Wood Collector Callixtus Amount of wood the group has: 101 Callitux was about to reply- his mood slightly lifted at the positive responses given to him by the other three he was conversing with- as the bus rolled to a stop. Of course it did. Why would the universe grant him a lengthy amount of time to have a nice conversation with people? Long conversations only happened when they were horrible. He grumbled to himself as the other three took off. Leaving him behind. Of course. Well, he couldn't really blame them, not really. He heaved a big sigh as he headed out of the bus and listened to Claire's instructions. He was going to be sent out into the woods in the dark. That sounded a bit dangerous. He sighed, certain that they were all going to meet their end at the claws of some terrible forest creature. Well, it was fun while it lasted. With a shrug, he headed out to grab some wood. He wasn't the most physically strong person- in fact, he wasn't strong at all. Gathering wood was exhausting and dirty. He looked at the small amount he added to the pile in despair. They would be dragging wood around for ages. He groaned loudly and rubbed his face. "Why did I even agree to come on this trip? I should have stayed home a painted a fruit bowl for my project."

Amount of wood the group has:111
Azure had taken a slight break after breaking open the log he found his last search, the when he was ready he headed back out to go look for more wood seeing the two people he had met out and about but chooses to stay focused on gathering wood, as he traveled out further he eventually found lots more wood so he gathered it up and continued to search. as he looked he came across more wood, but some of the wood he found was trapped beneath a pile of rubble. so he cleared the rubble and found 10 pieces of wood, he gathered it up and made his way back.

Wood Collector Amount of wood the group has: 116  Bridgette looked around then turned back to the woods and went back to searching for the fire wood they would need. She sang a little song to herself as she walked and looked for firewood. She smiled as she looked up at the sky and just watched for a little bit. After that she went back to searching for the wood and grabbed the pieces that she found. She didn't find as much this time as she had last time but she still found a nice amount. She turned around and headed back to drop off the pieces she had. She didn't want to go too deep and get lost or something. That would waste time and people wouldn't be able to do their job if they had to look for her. Better to drop off what she had found than to try to go really deep in hopes of finding more. Amount of wood the group has:121  Pushing her way through a rather thick patch of shrubbery, Lillith spotted a downed tree that was surrounded by broken branches. She could not however tell if the wood was old and rotten or if it was actually suitable for collecting. Finally breaking free through the brush, Lillith made her way closer to the wood pile that she had spotted and began to pick through the branches and stick closest to her for as many good pieces as she could.

 As soon as they'd reached the campground, Claire had split everyone up to do set up. Not that Zahneel minded. Though, she almost wished she had been put on wood gathering duty instead. Because, frankly, setting up a tent was clearly beyond her.
As she tried to hold onto the instructions with her teeth, while still reading him, all the while holding tent fabric and the poles to support said fabric, she was out of her depth.

Amount of tents the group has made: 3  She smiled and leaned against him as he slid his arm around her shoulders. She loved that he was as physically affectionate as she was, and the way her heart raced a little faster when he was close-by was only part of the reason she enjoyed being around the Grimm. "Psh, of course we have snacks, silly!" she giggled. Even before she met Ghester, Bibiana never left her dorm without at least a couple pieces of candies. Afterward, she tried to pack more snacks in the bag she liked to carry everywhere just in case he got hungry.
"Most of what I brought is in my bag under the bus, buuuut," she started and stretched a little to dig in her deep pockets, pulling out some candy and a couple packs of crackers. "I thought we might get hungry on the way up." She smiled happily up at him as she offered him first choice of what she had on her. She popped a piece of candy in her mouth as they talked about what they might find in the Forest, but the thought of monsters made her shiver and press a little closer to Ghester. "I hope it's nothing too scary. Maybe we'll find some new familiar species or something," she mused.
Once they made it to the campground, the pair was separated. Bibiana pouted, but she knew that she wouldn't have been much help in getting firewood. Not that she would be good at setting up tents, either, but she could try her very best! She picked up one of the tent packs and got to work trying to figure out the instructions.((Anyone can talk to Bibi while they make tents! She's super friendly and LOVES meeting new Nightmares :3))

Honestly he didn't really want this to continue - what if they hit a bump?? Or something ran in front of the bus? Oooh he didn't want to think too hard about it. Zahneel offering to speak up helped a little, though he simply shook his head just slightly in return. No, he'd... he'd power through it, even if it was something that made him uncomfortable... Thankfully, Mahuyah put a stop to it as soon as Patches had handed her the camera. He sighed a little, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding as he scooted back away from Zahneel to give her some more space. Thank goodness. "I-I like that idea..." He replied with a small nod to Mahuyah's suggestions.
With that settled, he busied himself the rest of the trip to their campsite with attempting to read one of the information pamphlets Maria had given him -- admittedly, this had been her job and he'd just wanted to go so they could spend more time together... He wasn't even 100% sure what he'd signed up for!
Once they arrived, he followed the others off of the bus and waited to be sorted. Immediately he was thankful that he got to be in a group with Zahneel and decided to stick close with her. Perhaps Mahuyah would stay with them too? Since it seemed that Patches, Nadinia, and Nashira were in the other group. Somehow Neptune had a bad feeling that he'd just end up wrecking every tent he tried to touch....
"U-uh... did.... did I get it...?" He stared at the completed tent in confusion, amazement, and disbelief. He'd... actually managed to put it together on the first try without breaking or tearing anything!

 Wood Collector Amount of wood the group has: 130 This time when he headed out to gather, Thian dimmed his lantern as he strayed farther into the darkness, curious to see what lay beyond the camp. His bravery didn't last for long. He had never been outside of the city, and this much unapologetic outdoors...ness made him a little worried. He spent some time gathering about as much wood as he had during his first attempt, then ventured back to the others.

A small smile came over Mahuyah's face as Patches agreed with her, and she reached over and squeezed her friend's hand. "Thank you." she whispered softly, then settled down for the remainder of the trip. She attempted to be a little more social, but really Patches had it covered, so she retreated into reading her book and looking out the window, and answering various questions when addressed.
They came to a stop, and she stood from her seat and groaned a little: oh were her legs sore from sitting for so long. It felt so good to be moving again. However, things seemed to move with a good pace as everyone was separated off into groups with chores to do. Unfortunately for Mahuyah, she was not going to be with Patches, and she'd never pitched a tent before.
Nervously, she went and got her first tent bundle, situating herself close to Neptune and Zahneel since she'd gotten to know them a little on the bus and felt a little more drawn to them than anyone else, then set into pitching. She struggled with it, turning the instruction sheet in all directions as she attempted to figure out what parts where what, and where they were supposed to go. At one point, she thought she had it, only to watch the whole thing collapse on itself. Well... time to start again.
